You guys should do an "Every Movie" trailer for Hayao Miyazaki, who also hasn't had any flops in his career. Also, what about an "Every Movie" for Mel Brooks, or at least the good ones.
I like Death Proof more than most people (the uncut version), but maybe for a weird reason. I laughed out loud in the end when I realized the film was never going to go back to explain what happened to the girl who was left behind with the man who owned the car they stole. So many movies do the same thing, end with the defeat of the villain without showing us what happens when the characters return to their normal lives, even when they're being chased by the cops or some other conflict. I feel, admittedly without any real evidence, that Tarantino was riffing on that aspect of 1970s/1980s films. The consequences of the girls when they return to their normal lives, having stolen a car and damaging it with their friend as collateral--it's the definition of begging the question of what happens next. That, and the awesome stuntwork, make the movie work for me.
I stand by "feet feet feet feet feet" being the greatest Honest Trailer moment since the opening crawl of the Twilight Honest Trailer, "Based on the terrible books from one of the shittiest authors of all time."
I’m guessing they never did one since they all went on winter break. I’m also gonna say they don’t have super strong opinions on the movie so the commentary would be a bit boring but they had to do it anyways for the seo. Something’s gotta pay the bills. Also plz bring back seo ceo. Plz dan
Death Proof is pretty good in my book! I never consider it a movie by itself. I consider Planet Terror and Death Proof movie’s you watch together. Especially since that’s how I first viewed them in the theater.
Tarantino has already explained he doesn't intend to retire after his 10th movie. He only said he intends to make that many films because he thought it is a feasible number. Once he gets to number 10, he'll see.
Y'all are being too harsh on Smokin Aces. That movie was at least fun. Some of those other movies on the grid were not fun at all. It's definitely not on the level of a QT movie, but it was just fun.
M VR I like Hateful Eight more than Django. (Probably helps that I’ve had a lifelong crush on Jennifer Jason Leigh and she’s perfect in it.) Once is his most meandering movie, but it’s just right for the film.
Put your money where your mouth is and do an Honest Trailer for Smokin Aces and try to hate on it. Amazing performances from Jeremy Piven, Mathew Fox, and Chris Pine. The scene where Mathew Fox dies, the scene where Piven looks up at the sun and says f-u to it (my personal favorite), the scene where Chris Pine puppeters a dead Ben Afleck's face, the scene where Piven finds out there's no deal, the scene where Piven does magic in front of Common while doing a soliloquy about relationships, the scene where Jason Bateman is a coked-up furry?, the scene where a bunch of neonazis run out of an elevator with chainsaws screaming, the scene where all the cops just go flying after getting hit by a huge snipper rifle. You guys just need to rewatch it. Smokin Aces is no Pulp Fiction, but it's wildly entertaining with great acting and a crazy story. With all do respect it's cringe inducing to watch all four of you flippantly disregard it and lump it in with those other films. Side note, Smokin Aces is strangely one of Terrence Malick's favorite contemporary films along with Zoolander. Look it up.
I'd actually like to see an Honest Trailers for Smoking Aces now. I've always thought it was a fun movie (with an admittedly stupid ending) but it seems like they might have enough bile for that one to filibuster their way through a script
The Crimson Tide Silver Surfer reference was when Denzel Washington confronts an enlisted kid about getting in fights and how it endangers his career. The kid then explains he popped the other guy because the guy said Moebius' Surfer was superior to Jack Kirby's. Then Denzel agrees with the kid that Kirby's is "the only true Silver Surfer" but he still needs to keep his temper even in the face of stupidity.
The only Tarantino-ism that I didn't see the crew reference was his fascination with drinks being poured. It's been around at least since Kill Bill. Noticed it ever since. Otherwise, thoroughly entertaining and Dan's impression game is rock solid.
Trailer was fantastic, commentary was replete with impressions - day was made better, and the feet song is stuck in my head, thanks y'all! For the director BA discussion, I immediately said Coen Bros., so it was nice to get an echo from Lon. A great director still with us, whom no one ever seems to list for anything, is Norman Jewison... maybe not the *most* consistent, but c'mon, In the Heat of the Night, Fiddler on the Roof, The Cincinnati Kid, Moonstruck, The Russians Are Coming, The Hurricane, The Thomas Crown Affair... just surprised he's not namechecked more. I'd also offer up P. T. Anderson, Iñárritu, Jane Campion, Spike Lee, Hayao Miyazaki (animation counts!), and previous HT anthology star Wes Anderson
Frankly, I was really excited for Tarantino x Star Trek. A lot of impact from Star Trek comes from dialogue. (I come from the newer generations, TNG+) Dialogue is something Tarantino excels at. Maybe there was too much groundwork to fit existing characters and too much brand name to introduce new ones...but we've seen Tarantino highlight the past, it would have been damn interesting to see him take a stab at the future.
Hey HT folk, idk if anyone has already suggested this, but how about every Roland Emmerich movie for your next every (insert director) move trailer? He and Devlin are fairly consistent, good for a laugh...
I really don't know why people HATE Death Proof so much. I really enjoyed that film and loved the ending chase sequence. I mean you don't get too many "horror films" that end with the predator becoming the prey with stunt drivers. I don't know maybe it's just me. I like almost all of Taratino films except Hateful 8.
I love Katherine Bigelow zero dark thirty but I always love Near Dark which was her first vampire-horror/ western hybrid cult film and I recommend everybody buy and watched it.
I didn't stop to look at the movies included in the "bad movies inspired by Tarantino" list, but now that its been paused on it for so long, I will ask WHY IS WAY OF THE GUN ON THAT LIST?? It's soooo good.
Yeah, that was the only one on that list I objected to. That movie is tight. The others I didn't really care about but if they added Go I woulda been pissed.
I remember Tarantino saying a loooong time ago, like pulp fiction, that great directors only had at most 10 great films in them. I remember this was pretty much a slap in the face of long time directors. Every movie that came out after was like "hey, remember that sh#t you were saying about 10 movies?"
They're probably saving Ghostbusters for when _Afterlife_ comes out. I'm 90+% sure that next week is Bad Boys because _Bad Boys for Life_ is coming out.
Honestly I know this is something that’s always said, and like whatever I know how it sounds, but I’m actually surprised he hasn’t gotten his hands on a comic book movie. You’d think of all people, he would
Your Death Proof discussion reminded me of the first time I saw Office Space in the theater. No one under 25 was laughing. Unless you'd experienced the corporate office life, you just couldn't get it
I think Tarantino has been making the 10 movie claim for a long time because I remember hearing it in high school (which was around around the time of Jackie Brown). Nobody really took it serious at the time assuming he'd either burn out or forget about it, which he hasn't.
Alexis Mason watching grindhouse in a sold out theater was one of the most fun theater experiences I had. The cheering during the final beat down was epic.
Props to the guy who looked through over 20 hrs of film for feet scenes
"Honey...? Why do you have a foot fetish video on your laptop?"
"It's for work, I swear!"
Easy job when it's half the run time
A QT fan with foot fetish could find them in 10min ;)
You say that like it would be work
With Quentin you'll never run out of "footage"
Dan is genuinely so good at impressions.
i fully expect the slowed-down-acoustic-minor-key'd version of the foot song for the honest trailer of the tenth-and-final tarantino movie.
"This probably not a conversation the four of us should have" - Joe Starr you are a gift good sir. Hilarious
How has, “because it’s fun, Jan.” Not become a meme?
Joseph Ocasio say no more
Get it!
Jordan Smith Godspeed sir
Ha ha yes, thought this only yesterday, had been a while since I saw that interview.
lmao i see that all over tumblr
TL:DR; Quentin Tarantino will never be defeeted.
You guys should do an "Every Movie" trailer for Hayao Miyazaki, who also hasn't had any flops in his career. Also, what about an "Every Movie" for Mel Brooks, or at least the good ones.
Of this panel, I feel like Joe Starr would have the best insight on a Miyazaki ht
They should also do Takahata next
I was going to comment Miyazaki has a very consistent Director. I don't think hes ever made a bad film.
Another consistent director is Wes Anderson
Also, Edgar Wright, even though he has directed not that many movies.
Jackie Brown is one of the most underrated movies ever made
I completely agree! One of my all time favourites.
Feet! Feet! Feet! Feet! Feet!
And now everybody!
IrianGaming feet feet feet feet feet!
@@lcd130 feet feet! feet feet feet!
I love how proud these writers are of the foot song.

So many clips were off the same feet: Uma Thurman .
Where’s the commentary for The Clone Wars movie?
The movie that predated Baby Yoda with Baby Jabba.
I’m guessing they never did one since they all went on winter break. I’m also gonna say they don’t have super strong opinions on the movie so the commentary would be a bit boring but they had to do it anyways for the seo. Something’s gotta pay the bills.
Also plz bring back seo ceo. Plz dan
One of them is holding a tiny toy light saber... so maybe this it
We were on vacation during that week so never did one apologies!
Fandom Entertainment Oh, okay!
You should get the epic voice guy on these commentaries. He lives in LA now
He moved? From, I wanna say... Memphis?
For real, people would actually want to see him rather than these chumps.
@@IMP3TIGO these chumps wrote the damn thing, they actually know info from behind the process
Maybe on something occasionally
mwheeler37 okay, but still who cares what they think of their own two minute trailer? No one cares!
Still confused why Tim Roth wasn't in starring.
Death Proof is pretty good in my book! I never consider it a movie by itself. I consider Planet Terror and Death Proof movie’s you watch together. Especially since that’s how I first viewed them in the theater.
Consistent directors?
How could you forget Edgar Wright Dan?
Was shouting it at the screen! ..(Along with PTAnderson, Wes Anderson, Bong Joon Ho, Miyazaki, Linklater, Cuaron)
That and Ryan Coogler were the two names I was saying. I'm not sure if Coogler has done enough movies to be considered
I was surprised Wes Anderson wasn't mentioned
he's only made like 5 movies, cant really put him in the conversation of these guys that have 10-20 movies
@@HerschelKrustofski I disagree with linklater but was also thinking about bong joon ho
one thing that really got me laughing is that they didn't reuse a single foot scene for the song. It's hilarious
Tarantino has already explained he doesn't intend to retire after his 10th movie. He only said he intends to make that many films because he thought it is a feasible number. Once he gets to number 10, he'll see.

Dan's Quentin sounds just like comic book guy from the Simpsons.
The ending of Smokin Aces is so good though. Just the defeated state of Ryan Reynolds is such amazing storytelling in a singel scene.
so I'm guessing we will get "Every Kevin Smith Movie" trailer eventually
Darkest Argentum I can see one of the staring now "Ben Affleck and Matt Damon doing cameos like it's the MCU"
Do the Lethal Weapon movies! Can't believe you guys haven't done those movies.
I am one of the few that love Hateful Eight and Jackie Brown more than Kill Bill, Django or Pulp Fiction. Still haven't seen Once
M VR I like Hateful Eight more than Django. (Probably helps that I’ve had a lifelong crush on Jennifer Jason Leigh and she’s perfect in it.) Once is his most meandering movie, but it’s just right for the film.
Denis Villeneuve has not made a bad movie in his life.... yet
I, too, am glad “Go” (1999) was saved from the bad influenced movie list. Underrated movie that even used to be in IMDB’s Top 100 list.
I want a Fincher honest trailer. Favorite director.
Yeah!
Quentin Tarantino's the man. This might be one of the best episodes ever
That was one of the easiest clues yet! Someone else suggested that you should do every Kevin Smith movie, that person is a genus! I would love that!
You guys....
The foot song is stuck in my head...
Dammit ,😣 it wasn't stuck til reading this comment
That Jay Sherman moment was glorious.
Put your money where your mouth is and do an Honest Trailer for Smokin Aces and try to hate on it. Amazing performances from Jeremy Piven, Mathew Fox, and Chris Pine. Denis Villeneuve and Alex Garland are two incredible filmmakers with consistent track records
I missed being called a party people
It really was one of the best!
23:06 I appreciate how awkward you all looked and felt during that stretch. Holy. Shit.
And, yeah, they should reconsider. : )
I laughed so hard at the QT impersonations 😆

Just when I was going to sleep at 2am, sigh, *proceeds to watch this whole video*
I speak for the entirety of the Internet when I say "Make a music video for the feet song!" PLEASE AND THANK YOU
Tarantino already did. 9 of them.
Trailer was fantastic, commentary was replete with impressions - day was made better, and the feet song is stuck in my head, thanks y'all!

"Everyone's least favorite movie is someone else's favorite" so true I've met too many people who love Suicide Squad. Two people.
I wonder why Inglorious Basterds is always QT's least talked about movie. It is my second favourite movie(after Pulp Fiction) from him.
On one hand, you are absolutely right about Boondock Saints. Then again, you can't deny that THERE WAS A FIREFIIIIIIIIIGHT!!!
You forgot to put on the starring: Blonde Women
PS: Great trailer. Love to see you guys back
29:35 Release the Spenny Cut
bong joon ho should be on that list imo
Taika Waititi is very consistent!
Frankly, I was really excited for Tarantino x Star Trek. A lot of impact from Star Trek comes from dialogue. (I come from the newer generations, TNG+) Dialogue is something Tarantino excels at. He just had a kid so I have a good feeling he is going to have inspiration to make more movies. B~)
That clue makes me think next week is gonna be Every Scooby Doo Movie. Weird but I’m invested. I love the live actions and 90s ones.
Hey HT folk, idk if anyone has already suggested this, but how about every Roland Emmerich movie for your next every (insert director) move trailer? He and Devlin are fairly consistent, good for a laugh...
Dan missed his calling as an impressionist 😆
If anything the feet song wasn't long enough!

Honest Trailers - Citizen Kane (in DeOldify)
Petition for Robert to make a cameo appearance
Quinton Tarantino started a comic book cross over between Django and Zorro after Django unchained
Honest Trailer for every Kevin Smith movie, and get Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes in to do the Honest Trailer Commentary.
Loved the Feet song singalong.
For most consistent directors, I would add Ryan Coogler to the list (3 for 3 so far).

Honestly I know this is something that’s always said, and like whatever I know how it sounds, but I’m actually surprised he hasn’t gotten his hands on a comic book movie. You’d think of all people, he would
At one point he was going to make a Luke Cage movie set in 1972, but he ended up making Pulp Fiction instead.
He should make a spider noir film
Wes Anderson has been very consistent as well.
It’s the only movie on that list of derivatives I’ve seen but I liked Smokin’ Aces
me too
Your Death Proof discussion reminded me of the first time I saw Office Space in the theater. No one under 25 was laughing. Unless you'd experienced the corporate office life, you just couldn't get it
Hmm, I saw it in college having never worked in an office. I and my college friends thought it was hilarious.
PT Anderson is an amazing director. Way more interesting and creative/Challenges himself more.
The last time I was this early, Tarantino's love for feet were at its nascent stages.
I'd like to know if there's an Honest Trailers album coming at some point?
He also filmed one scene in Sin City with his buddy Robert Rodriguez, so he really has about 3 14/15ths of a movie left to direct
Go is a fantastic movie
I know this would be a Herculean task...but maybe there should be a "Every Spielberg film".
I laughed so hard at the feet montage, that my stomach hurt! Hilarious!
Ok Smoking Aces was dope.
Do a Jon Favreau filmography trailer! He’s not necessarily an auteur of a direction but you gotta admit that he’s influential.
What you gonna do when they come for you?
I think Tarantino has been making the 10 movie claim for a long time because I remember hearing it in high school (which was around around the time of Jackie Brown). Nobody really took it serious at the time assuming he'd either burn out or forget about it, which he hasn't.
Likewise! I vaguely remember it around the time of the first Kill Bill
BAD BOYS!!!!
Cats, that is all you must do
Simon Peg consistent
Tarentino star trek would be good only if he did a movie about the Klingons. No star fleet at all, just Klingons
How do you not mention Cameron or Edgar Wright for best consistent directors?
I would love to see your trailer take on, Willow! PLEASE!!
Bless who combed through all those films for those shots! Bless Robert Holty (spelling?) for his amazing work!
Lmao Dan with how he did the titles🤣
I love finding out how huge directors also directed random tv episodes, like how even JJ Abrams directed an episode of The Office!
IceBreaker2557 JJ was a tv Director before going into film so that’s not surprising
Brayden Fitzsimmons oh damn really? That’s pretty cool! My bad, you learn something new everyday haha
Lol I really like Death Proof.😂
Alexis Mason watching grindhouse in a sold out theater was one of the most fun theater experiences I had. The cheering during the final beat down was epic.
Please say:I LIVE BEING THE GODDAMNED BATMAN
@23:26 Joe. You are very correct. Thank you.
Great! Next week is every Hulk Hogan movie! What you gonna do when Honestmania comes down on you?!?!
Death Proof is my favourite QT film. Fight me.
