I’ve never seen anyone react to ween, they’re such a niche, cult act. But srsly you gotta react to Mutilated Lips, Baby B¡tch, and I guess bananas and blow. The thing to understand about this band is they make beautiful songs but they also make ridiculous songs. Sometimes both at the same time.
Thing is; ween played 100 different songs in 3 nights in new york.

Gener's "eyes"... he's probably wasted out of his gourd in this video. Aaron is a very talented performer who could find that sweet "high" and "euphoric" spot with drugs that did not affect, and could even enhance his performances, until it became a full-on substance abuse issue that was affecting the band and the music. I'm glad he got clean and realized he could do it sober. I'm glad they got back together after the hiatus.
By the way this Live in Chicago is from 2003 not 2007 I think it said 07 because Transdermal Celebration was 7th on the set list

Hes a mad genius, 'Black man on the drums' XDD claude is so great though. This track is transcendant live and it sounds the same on the studio version on their album Quebec if u wanna add it.
I forgot to tell you that solo was made on santanas guitar, The ween brothers stole it from his equipment cupboard, they were staying in the same hotel. Deaner played the solo through his guitar in one take and that is the version on the album. And the live version is identical.

Ok so since you really liked this one, I think you will enjoy more their psychadelic rock stuff like this, not their softer stuff which they embrace too like I don't want it, in fact they embrace every genre with open arms. But I don't think you are ready for the country, experimental, punk, reggae or mariachi yet haha, So I think a live version of Golden Eel would be the place to go next. There are many songs which sound the same live and on record. I think its good to see these tracks live so you can get a better sense of the band, Gener/ Gene Ween (Aaron Freeman) the singer and Deaner/ Dean Ween (Micky Melchiando) the Guitarist. They are the original members the duo who started the band in 1984 in middle school typing class when the Demon God Boognish came down and commanded them to play his music and for 9 years they played as just them doing everything for the recordings and just them + a drum machine when they were live, a friend Mean Ween would occasionally do stuff for recordings until about '91 and producer/friend Andrew Weiss would sometimes play bass but for the most part it was just them and it was only ever them live. Since 93 there has also been Claude on drums and the genius incredible player he is means he can replicate the insane drum machine patterns they programmed. And Dave Dreiwitz + Glen Mcllelend on keys/theremin/cowbell since '97.
