- Oh! My Goat!
It is a classic aromatic dish packed with flavours and perfect blend of spices. We are bringing a zesty twist to your plate with new and unique mutton recipe. The name itself indicates, it’s a wonderful goat Meat dish. The deep brilliant red colour of this dish is gourmet’s delight.
Ingredients:
1. Goat Meat (mutton). 500 gms
2. Onions. 375 gms
3. Ginger. 25 gms
4. Garlic. 25 gms
5. Fresh turmeric. 25 gms
6. Green chillies. 15 gms
7. Kashmiri red chillies. 4
8. Cinnamon (Daalachini). 1” stick
9. Cloves (laung). 5-6
10. Red chilli powder. 1 Tspoon
11. Cumin powder. (Jeera). 1 Tspoon
12. Coriander powder (dhaniya powder) 2 Tspoon
13. Meat masala powder. 1 tablespoon
14. Garam masala powder. Half Tspoon
15. Kevda water (screw pine) 1 Tspoon
16. Oil. 50 Gms
Method:
1. First make masala paste .
2. Grind ginger, garlic, fresh turmeric, green chillies and soaked Kashmiri red chillies. If needed add 2 Tspoon water and make smooth paste.
3. In a pressure cooker heat 50 gms oil.
4. Add cinnamon (daalachini) and 5-6 cloves (laung).
5. after 1 minute add chopped onion. Sauté till golden brown.
6. When golden brown, add washed and cleaned mutton.
7. Sauté for 15 minutes.
8. Add red chilli powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, meat Masala powder and add a little water so that masalas don’t burn.
9. Sauté for 5 minutes.
10. Add masala paste and roast for 5 minutes.
11. Rinse the jar with water and add to mutton.
12. Cook for 5 minutes.
13. After 5 minutes,add 1.5 cups hot water .
14. Mix well and when gravy boils, cover the lid of pressure cooker.
15. Blow 5 whistles on medium flame.
16. When steam is released open the lid .
17. Add half Tspoon Garam Masala powder.
18. Add 1 tablespoon Kevda water (screw pine water ).
19. Cover the lid partially and simmer for 5 minutes on low flame.
20. Oh My Goat! Is ready.
21. Savour the taste with steamed rice, paratha or tandoori roti.
