I imagine any of the dares which are activated should work. Whether one, or all three. So if you had a preference of, say, bottomless nightmare gauge; instead of 1 hit kills, and harder enemies; it should work! And that would be a much easier way to grab the cycle through trophy, I think.
So if we turn on any 1 of the modifiers and go through the game, at what point does the trophy pop? Right after beating the final boss or is there one final step, like talking to Clare again or something?

If I remember correctly it is right after the credits roll, when you return back to the main hub. It may take a second or two to pop.
@@PenDreamt thanks for the help on this! I was 1/3 of the way through NG+ without any modifiers, so I would have just wasted my time!
