you truly understand the meaning of adventure--going into the unknown without any preconceived notions of what to expect--everything a voyage of discovery and true beauty.
That is one thing I noticed during my night snow wheeling. It's hard to fly a drone at night, avoid trees, and not get sucked into the deep snow at the same time. Your flying skills while driving impress the crap out of me. Nice work!
The problem with LED headlights is that they don't generate the heat needed to melt ice making them useless trying to get home or wherever. I learned this during The "Snowpocalypse" in Atlanta.
Yeah my Jeep has LED lights all the way around and I’m constantly rethinking that choice in the winter actually bought a second rig and decided from the get go I need to keep at least the stock headlights halogen and just run LEDs as secondary lights
I actually designed something cool for a 4x4 buddy of mine where I hooked up a small but ruggedized heavy-duty air compressor output to a heating coil that heats the air to 40+ Celcius and then through a hose to blow that heated air out a flattened nozzle that sends a thin sheet of heated air across all the headlights, fog lamps and lightbars. This melts the snow AND cleans the lights too! It's 60 PSI so it's not a big deal pressure-wise to build using common rubber gas hoses and attach to an in-cabin switch and a 2nd separate 12V Car battery! We also use it to heat up a cold tent before we sleep in the dead of winter! One of the hoses is on a reel that I can bring to any of the tents to help us get comfy! The 2nd 1V car battery prevents draining the main battery and a second alternator system recharges the battery. I can set the switch to pulse the air blast to 1 to 10 times per second or I can set it to blow continuous for 10 seconds and then switch off for a user-set period of time or I can set it to blow continuously. I can also set the output pressure from 5 PSI to 100 PSI -- And YES, I already know that the pressurization automatically heats-up the air BUT on final output from the nozzle I want that air stream to STAY heated and not lower too much in temperature due to the volume increase/pressure decrease upon output from the nozzle! V
@@ghplayer1992 HID (High Intensity DIscharge) lights would do it! They are usually Xenon or Sodium filled which are HOT, HEAVY and require lots of POWER to light up! 12 Volts won't work. A small onboard generator will need to be installed that powers those sorts of lights which tend to be run off 120V at 20 amps or even 240 at 30 amps. A pulsed pressurized hot-air solution works best to clear your lights in bad weather. Those can be run off a second 12V battery or via a 2nd Alternator running off the engine. All the parts can easily and cheaply be bought at Home Depot, Canadian Tire, Princess Auto or Harbor Freight! V
Amazing as always Shaun, from the imagery to the footage, music and the story of taking calculated risks, absolutely on point, loved it. All the best for your next adventure!
Me who will purposely go for a drive when it's snowing heavily and with lots of snow on the ground...my 94 yota with studded snow tires is a tank in the snow lol
“Things can go bad even in good weather” yeah I can attest to that😂😂 got stuck a few times and nearly slid off a shelf road once and it was clear dry and sunny 😂
So i know they make "add-a" defroster grid kits for windows, i wonder if there is a small enough kit to fit headlights. That would keep the snow melted unless its super cold.
Awesome video as always Shaun. I absolutely enjoy watching these epic extreme winter adventures more snow more epic adventure. Also Shaun what are your thoughts about Alu-Cab canopy camper on a Jeep Gladiator for going on the same type of epic adventures y'all do? Thanks for letting us ride along with y'all on y'all's adventures.
Shaun, you definitely made too much drama here at third minute 😂 survive in a storm, come oon It didn’t work with me this time hahhah I mean “storm” is calm snowfall with no wind “surviving” is driving via flat road slightly covered with a fresh snow It’s evening beer from the mall ride, not surviving in a storm I might be, for newyorker😂 but not for a Canadian, you know
Awesome video👍🏼👍🏼 If you don’t mind me asking, what brand/model of drone are you using? The video quality on the ariel shots is spotless even in the dark
It's so funny as a northern boy myself now living down in Florida in a small area called Destin in the panhandle it is known for some of the most beautiful white sandy beaches😂
I've just subscribed to your channel for the 4th time. Not sure how/why that happens, but it might explain why you haven't reached your goal. How many people think they're subscribed but aren't?
Camping overnight deep in the back country during heavy snow, there is a chance you can’t get back out if it snows too much. That would be the main risk.
Roll down window and with the door open place your knee against the upper door panel and tug the top of the frame inward. Sounds barbaric but that's what body shops do.
Love these videos, just personally wish the adventures I was witnessing was a bit more relatable. It oftentimes feels like money spent plays a much larger role in the perseverance than the perseverance one has accomplished either through physical endurance/innovation or by finding workarounds w/a vehicle that can’t do literally everything between the trail head and camp. Again.. Super interesting, great editing and production -just find it a bit less interesting each time the build budget increases.
I haven’t really changed anything on my truck in a year, and there’s nothing I’m doing that less expensive vehicles couldn’t also do, so I don’t really understand that criticism.
Shaun, I get it with taking risk.... BELIEVE me, I live with a broken back from downhill mountain biking. BUT !!! putting yourself in a spot where you are relying on Teddy's "skills" ... 🤷🏻🤦🏻 that boy is Completely overmatched on an asphalt parking lot, with a 1/2 inch skiff - in the middle of a city. you are just unnecessarily multiplying the danger you put Yourself in 🙏
😂 Check out Shaun's whipsaw videos where I conquered obstacles no one else could 💪maybe it's luck. But I did it again. So maybe it's luck again. Take it from the people that actually wheel with me, I'm not horrible and getting better every trip. I took a screenshot of your comment. I can't wait to make a video on it and the others like it. 😊 Shaun knows what he's doing. So if he's wheeling with me, that should tell you everything you need to know.

Those drone shots just keep getting more and more impressive sir! Thanks for sharing.
Do u know which drone they use?

That drone work coming through those pines was flippin awesome, that looked sick as hell

Thank you Shaun. You make my day better with every exploration. Fairbanks Alaska loves you!
I love that the music doesn’t override the sound of your jeep. Perfect pairing. 👌🏼
Always great times with you buddy!! see you on the next one!
Something I've experienced in my Tacoma is the headlights getting covered with snow. The old glass headlights don't collect as much.
Amazing as always Shaun, from the imagery to the footage, music and the story of taking calculated risks, absolutely on point, loved it. All the best for your next adventure!
Your drone footage is the best I watch on YT.
Me who will purposely go for a drive when it's snowing heavily and with lots of snow on the ground...my 94 yota with studded snow tires is a tank in the snow lol
the drone shots in the morning were absolutely beautiful
“Things can go bad even in good weather” yeah I can attest to that😂😂 got stuck a few times and nearly slid off a shelf road once and it was clear dry and sunny 😂
✌️ True! 😅
It's called the "F*ck around and Find out scale" 😂
Looks like fun😀. Great drone footage! Thanks!

WOW! Incredible! Everything including the soundtrack!
Fascinating scenery! and a video well put together Shaun! Great video ❤️✨❤️✨

Gonna be a good one. About to watch unwinding roads episode now. Can only assume they go together 😅
Between your channel, X-Overland and 4WD 24/7, I pretty much got all corners of the globe covered for Off-road action.
Epic video man!! I have said it a 100 times, your drone skills are insane!!
Also, how are you flying in the rain! I must know.
he just Flys it. I've asked as well. I personally think he has a couple of sacrificial drones just for these shots. Lol
Sometimes they don’t make it :)
I am from Philippines I like watching
Your all vlog ❤️ keep safe
Your driving
I love how the vehicle in front of you on the drive out leaves no tracks! Which drone are you using? Great video!
Very nice, relaxing to watch.👍
truly stunning vlog, outstanding moments
I love seeing a jeep used for what is was made for
Great video - Thank you Shaun!
❤👍 Thanks For The Ride !!
Really enjoyed this video thanks for making it.
They make a tool called a hood holder,it clamps on to the strut bar and would keep the tent from collapsing. Awesome video as always.
Life is not about finding yourself life is about creating yourself
Another great outing. Too bad about the snow caving in his cover. Dang.
Thanks for the video
Top notch production quality
The drone footage is top notch! Congrats
Wow. That looked simply epic.
Epic reverse drone shots at the end...love it...plus the night shots...hows the drone..?
You had me at Stealing Things!... um.. I mean... Overlanding
Hey, you can use some aluminum C-Canels to secure your rooftent. You just lay it on your gas struts pistons. They cant close at you
Thanks, I was wondering what those are called. Know where I might acquire such things?
This one looked fun boys. Glad your home safe
what a fantastic bunvh of lads....and by far the best 2

How do you go about keeping warm in weather this cold? Do you have a heater or just a good sleeping bag?
Epic video, i am always trying to figure out where you are going and camping
another awesome video Shaun. always love these.
Beautiful video
So amazing awesome video
Great one.
I liked Unwinding roads version better (haha)
I'm kidding, another Fantastic video Shaun. Great trip
🤘 awesome dude, thanks for the share!
Epic, as always!
Awesome video👍🏼👍🏼
If you don’t mind me asking, what brand/model of drone are you using? The video quality on the ariel shots is spotless even in the dark
🏆🤗🙏💙
Thank you for sharing this
Saya sangat senang, nonton video ini, seperti hobby saya, salam sehat dan sukses
Awesome video you really like going on a off the grid wich I think it's really cool
Magic!
Awesome as always! If you don't mind me asking, what filter are you using for the front end night shots?
SEI UN GRANDE SHAUN I TUOI VIDEO SONO BELLISSIMI 💪💪
If I could only afford getting an off-road vehicles to overland and do trips like you would I be happier!
Pretty epic
Shawn, what size and make are your tires and rims?? Love your adventure’s 😎
Awesome video wishing I could join one day
Snowwwwwww! Great vid!
Do yellow fogs make a difference in snow and dust?
Curious - do you fly the drone full manual in the dark or do you use some activetrack mode?
G’day mate, could you please tell me what drone you’re using? It has an amazing follow me in reverse function!
I have to come snow camping in BC soon!
It's so funny as a northern boy myself now living down in Florida in a small area called Destin in the panhandle it is known for some of the most beautiful white sandy beaches😂
Is this the northern parts of Stave Lake, Alouette Lake or Harrison Lake?
V
Didn't snow a lot overnight?! Man thats almost peak season brilliance in australia 😅
How much aftermarket $$ or mods/parts does a factory jeep need in order to make it thru these terrains ? Thanks !
curious as to what tires you are running. if said in the video i missed it
thanks
Darn, I missed the premiere 😢. Great video and content as usual.
Can you put those wires for melting snow off your house roof on your tent ?
What would some of these things look like if they took into account snow and ice loading. Better off having a soft top and hard top for winter.
I've just subscribed to your channel for the 4th time. Not sure how/why that happens, but it might explain why you haven't reached your goal. How many people think they're subscribed but aren't?
So good.
That's cool...but where is risk? Regular trip
Camping overnight deep in the back country during heavy snow, there is a chance you can’t get back out if it snows too much. That would be the main risk.
Hi Shaun, when is your next video released? Cheer. Ian
I love my LED lights on the Mojave except they don't throw enough heat to stay free of ice and snow...
What spot is this anyone know?
I think the drive home may have been more epic than the campsite itself.... do you agree?
Fun video, but this is NOT a blizzard. Not even remotely close. As a resident of Minnesota, this looks like your average Tuesday in January. Lol
does anybody have any ideas on how to fix a leaky passenger side door on a jeep wrangler jk?
Roll down window and with the door open place your knee against the upper door panel and tug the top of the frame inward. Sounds barbaric but that's what body shops do.
Man on a mission for a million subscribers
Crushed? C’mon, man.

Enjoy your videos so much more now that I watch on mute.
