@Jaka Celhar V never stood antiArasaka. Johnny did. V called Johnny a terrorist. It was all a Johnny influence, that we, as a players, can accept as our own thoughts.
@@Avenlith Exactly. It's up to the player to decide what V is. It's your own character to a certain extent. Johnny made it about Arasaka and their destruction - but ultimately nothing you do will hinder Arasaka in the grand scheme of things. So some V's might find the prospect of cooperating or at least mending their relationship with Arasaka to be the best option for survival.
The rock bit mixing in feels like Johnny’s last struggle, like he’s there somewhere telling you what you’re about to do is fucking stupid, and that your life is about to end by corporat hands.
Really the bad ending and this mix was perfect and the song represent V perfectly in every ending. For this one tho... It's even better, as good as the slowed version in the memorial in my opinion. The cover by P.T. Adamczyk going faster to catch the rythm of the the original as it fades in, the way they mix with one side being the melancholic side of our protagonist and the original representing Johnny's rage against the system and Arasaka. Yet the song ends abruptly. Because V's not V anymore and Johnny's not there anymore. The thing of beauty did fade away and it's like we're being told that we did chose the quiet life after all.
I'm just realizing this is a combination of the two versions of the song with the female voice representing V and the faint male voice from the rock version of the song representing Jonny. Idk if I'm staying the obvious I just found that a really cool detail
imo i think every ending naturally fit where cyberpunk 2077 was gonna lead to. say what you want about the game but all the endings held meaning when it came down to it
I'm sorry that'd probably not be possible :( Maybe someone with more knowledge on mixing would be able to achieve something similar, but I can only make sure tracks transition and overlap well.
@@dgfll isn't this literally the cover of never fade away that was uploaded unto cyberpunk's channel a few weeks before the launch? it's name is "Cyberpunk 2077 - Never Fade Away by P. T. Adamczyk & Olga Jankowska (SAMURAI Cover)" and it does sound somewhat similar
@@leeroythepol9228 ... it shouldn’t take audiophile ears to notice that the creators made a new mix specifically for this ending. It is the same song, obviously, but REFUSED’s version overlaps with Olga’s and reverbs and fades were added.
The slight yet haunting echo from “Never Fade Away” before abruptly ends. It’s like the phantom pain. It’s not the pain of lost limb, it’s the pain of losing oneself. Did V really got rid of Silverhand’s contruct? Or did V lose his/her own soul? When the chip is in V, both V & Johnny shared memories, behaviour and emotion, even though both reacted differently since both still keep their own personality. When getting rid of Johnny solved the problem, wouldn’t V still feel what Johnny felt when chip is surgically removed? In Mikoshi, Alt was able to separate both of them, whereas in Arasaka Ending, the chip was removed when both of them are together in one body. Remnants of Johnny still lingers within V, hence why V was singing parts of Never Fade Away lyrics while leaving. V grips his/her bullet necklace firmly before snapping it, as if parts of his/her soul was ripped away. Just like the corpo lifepath description stated: Few have left the corpo world with their souls intact.
The saddest ending for me is the one V lived....and couldn't even stop a normal mugging. I found it super relatable.....I used to pick up transmission assemblys no problem and now car batteries feel heavy.... getting older is scarier than anything else. Getting slowly more and more feeble.
You sure? Saburo retakes control of Arasaka through planting his conscience. V's suffering with the Relic and Jackie's death mean nothing. The engrams and souls are still locked in Mikoshi and Johnny's engram gets shredded. It's far from the best ending, but there are no good endings in Night City
@@AvoidedOrc36584 It was the best foo me, since I hated Johnny and told him to fuck himself at any point the game allowed me and skipped all of the possible side dialogues. @ThisIsAHandleOrSomething In Mikoshi there's a chance you'll be re-sleeved into a new/cloned body with implants etc. Sure you'll be Arasaka loyal but if you go the FIA ending you're better off dead with how destroyed your body is etc.
Before this ending, in the rooftop conversation with Silverhand - he acknowledges that going with Arasaka would be the worst decision ever, and the fact that even after being together for so long - V has no "code" to live by. This scene represents the fact that Silverhand was right all along, and also the fact that all V did, for himself, for his friends - all are now in vain with no damage done to Arasaka. Johnny, too is no more with him. Hence he breaks away his necklace and wishes he would have died in the junkyard instead.
This makes me want to replay the game so bad but every time I only see more and more bugs... Didn't notice them at all on my first run, hope they can fix the game asap
When this came out my friend was the one who could afford getting it, and he invited me over every time he started it up playing it and I always came to play along with him, he chose the corpo path and we would take turns playing it and when we got to this ending it was just,.. it hit in a way I didn't think would. Seeing that devil come out of the Rubik's cube was especially scary I can't explain why. When the credits finally ruled and it was all done I remember just turning to my friend and saying wow just wow! I felt like weed chosen to kill silver hand, I couldn't help it look at it as if I was silver hand and my friend was v. We're still great friends it was just a game, but it just hit us both so much. I still think about it in the game when things start put into a bad position but you saw it so much choice to do what you wanted with your life, and at the end you're left with so little after giving up so much and taking so much.
I never really noticed this but there is no happy ending when it comes to Night City. Majority of the Edgerunners die, Lucy lives her memory as an empty shell after seeing her lover die right in front of her eyes, Johnny loses Alt and in a fit of rage storms Arasaka almost succeeding in his mission but then Adam Smasher shows up and kills him, Jackie dies trying to reach the big leagues and no matter what ending you choose, V will die. The best ending in V’s story is V dies and an AI simulates V’s life after storming Arasaka. One of the rare positive endings I’ve recently found was Kerry’s quests. After he tells you the fact that he lives in Johnny’s shadow and just misses the guy after everything they’ve been through, he finally is reborn and eventually moves in his story line. Something about the inevitable and impending doom is very poetic and amazing story telling.
The devil ending is so damn beautiful and tragic. Really nails the fear of death and what one might do in a vain hope to avoid it. just a rando opinion on the internet though.
This ending had such a different vibe to it. The Sun and Star had somewhat happy endings, with V going on to live his life. The temperance ending had Johnny get his happy ending. But this?
