Beautiful video of Union Pacific Big Boy 4014. I would love to see this famous largest steam locomotive in the world in operation sometime in the future to be honest here.
I was lucky enough to get a ticket to ride behind 4014 in the Colorado Eagle. Saw you a few times from the train, Mike! You’re not hard to miss with all your camera equipment. Sure was a fun trip and 4014 put on a great show going over Donner
The fact that we have a living and breathing Union Pacific Big Boy in the 21st century is really amazing. ^^ And if you ask me, 4014's restoration to operating condition was easily the best and really worthy of having a Big Boy run again even when many thought it was impossible. :)
4014 looks so awesome when it goes around an S-curve. It really shows its design with it sweeping around the curve. Great video Mike, simply just awesome filming. ❤️👍😎
Spectacular as always Mike! Two weeks ago, I got the chance to see this magnificent steam giant at Rochelle Railroad Park as he makes a whistle stop. It's a fantastic experience for me to see 4014 for the very first time I've waited for so long to see this locomotive in person. Days afterwards, I also got see another Big Boy 4006, alongwith Centennial diesel 6944, at the National Museum of Transportation near St. Louis. Two Big Boys in one week on one trip, terrific.
Excellent footage of UP 4014 Mike! Cam and I did go after 4014 back in 2019 and was a sight to behold! However our footage was pretty underrated! It attracted way to many people in my opinion and don't think cam and I will go through that trouble of going after 4014 again but that's just me! Again GREAT footage of this legendary steam engine! Your videos never cease to amaze me! :)
Thank you, Dean! 4014 sure does draw large crowds whenever it runs. The first day over Donner Pass was amazing with how many people were out to see the train!
We actually still use that shed at Norden just like Shed 10 and 47, we use it to cover a universal crossover, the old number one now used as a spur for MOW and the old turntable lead where we store between 1 and 2 tank cars of diesel fuel for trains that run out and for winter operations for dozers and snowcats as well as for an extra flanger set. It also holds MOW tools and extra tools for us if any problems occur
@@CoasterFan2105 Yes sir, definitely not its heyday in uses but I have used it quit a bit for rearranging power or getting equipment out of the snow to work on!
I’ve also seen 4014 back at Mineola after 5 years since I’ve last seen it at Jacksonville! It was delayed due to one UPS freight train that smashed through a semi truck at Texarkana, followed by a broken down one that was moved out of the way. But man oh man what an amazing steam locomotive!
Every time I watch your videos, you always do an amazing job. I had no idea you were also chasing 4014 over donner pass too. Keep up the good work, hope to see me big boy videos in the future!
FINALLY! I was waiting for this to come out since I did see it in Roseville. Seeing 4014 and 1983 was incredible and I found out that 1983 was the first heritage unit used for excursions. Incredible video with such a beautiful steam locomotive! Keep it up! My day is so much better now seeing that you uploaded a new video! Also on a side note, Sierra #3 is still being worked on, but we're working on her and should have her back in action within the next 5 years. We do have the polar express this year and I hope you got a ticket for this year's train as it would be an honor to meet you. Take care and have a good rest of your day!
Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed the video! I have no immediate plans to visit Railtown 1897 but I'd like to see both the 28 and 3 when they're running again!
Thank you for this wonderful video. I've watched many now, learning more with each after seeing Big Boy up close in Rochelle, IL, back in September. What caught me on this video was the scout train to clear the way for Big Boy. Interesting. I was wondering if there was not a scout when the tree fell in Auburn causing quite the delay? Other than a few still shots, I haven't seen much discussion of what happened other than a 3+ hour delay. Thoughts?
Only recently got into watching TH-cam videos of locomotives after getting into playing train sim world 5 and I got to say, steam locomotives look and sound alive, like they have a soul, compared to modern freight locomotives
Hey mike I’m going to see the big boy 4014 on October 11th at the downtown station in fort worth and I’m really excited and are you gonna go see it????
Great work on union pacific big boy 4014 steam locomotive video making and what happened to union pacific challenger 3985 can you do a video on what happened to that locomotive please sincerely Isaiah wiley from myrtle Beach south Carolina saying hello and thank you 😊.
Big Boy 4014 will always be the King Of Steam You know years ago, A person once said that any of the surviving Big Boys would never run again, but boy did the UP proved that person wrong
The Westward Tour was amazing! Having to see the Big Boy in person for the first time was an unforgettable experience.
It was really cool to see 4014 on Donner Pass!
Beautiful video of Union Pacific Big Boy 4014. I would love to see this famous largest steam locomotive in the world in operation sometime in the future to be honest here.

Great filming of the Bigboy 4014, thanks for the great video. Best regards from Germany🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂❤❤

Good stuff as always. That shot at Norden is golden.

@@CoasterFan2105 For sure, Mike. :)
FINALLY 4014 has the spotlight again!
Finally! It was great to see it running out west!
But a shame that she couldn’t be here in the PNW due to clearance issues, but understandable at the same time
I had the honor of seeing this beautiful locomotive when it passed through Texas in August of 2021, seeing more of 4014 is always a joy!
Yes! Joy and boy rhymes!
That it is!
4014 looks so awesome when it goes around an S-curve. It really shows its design with it sweeping around the curve. Great video Mike, simply just awesome filming. ❤️👍😎

Oh, you mean 4014's crush?
Can’t get enough of Union Pacific Big Boy 4014, love the sounds it makes and steam is a by gone joy of another area..

Fantastic video on the 4014!
It was special to see it in Wisconsin earlier this year.
Your videos are always
enjoyable!
Thanks so much!
Awesome! I wish I could see this locomotive. I live in Illinois (braidwood) I never deen it in person.
Thank you! It does sometimes come through Illinois.
Speaking of 4014, your other video on the PRR T1 5550 will soon hit 1 million views! That project is moving towards completion.

Awesome! Unfortunately, I don't think I will be seeing 4014 for a second time this year, but it was great to see it over the summer!
Never seen the big boy in person. Hard to do since I live in North Carolina, any tips on chasing 4014?
It's hard to get ahead of the train in between stops in a lot of places because of how many other people chase so pick the spots you want the most.
Can someone buy tickets to ride in the passenger cars on this train?
They occasionally offer tickets as fundraisers for non profit organizations.
Look at that baby fly!!!
Research his age
10:14-I would like to be a kid, in the family car, looking out the window at the big choo-choo running below us
Coaster is there going to be another steam trains galore?

Hey mike do you know how big is union pacific 4014
I'd have to look up all the stats, but it's pretty big. Union Pacific has them on their website.
Dude, he's the size of the Megalodon
非常に新鮮
I am all for trains, but we have to find a way to run it on clean steam, with less black smoke, any suggestions?
UP needs to stop giving him a diesel, like he's supposed to be a freighter. Not a passenger
I hate the Union pathetic!!!!!!
