@@DarkwingDash that’s definitely true, but the meta is still dictates a lot of what is viable. There’s still customization that can be used, but a lot of those tactics that lie in the “infinite space” isn’t very useful in certain meta games
There's a very nice happy medium to be found in all of this. I enjoy using some competitive know-how to enhance my casual playthroughs, using the team I specifically want while also using many in-game features to keep ahead of any curves. Being competitive and being casual don't have to be mutually exclusive viewpoints.

I'm both quite amazed and very inspired by the teaching methods you used to help Jaiden when starting out! You ever considered making doing something like this with other competitive Pokemon Scenes? Like teaching a TCG or a Pokken player VGC and they teach you their scene? Jukem is a top Pokken player who has his own channel it might be fun to do stuff with.
this was a really informative video... you got me interested in VGC a long time ago but this video gave me the motivation to start... particularly the spreadsheets are a great resource and the idea for most of my Trick room team xD
The Kabutops/Mewtwo was just a budget Coalassal all along, pretty interesting. Also while this was pretty fun to watch I think it would be pretty cool if there were at least some battles that Jaiden had done on her own. At times it felt like Wolfey was playing and Jaiden was just pressing the buttons.
Exactly, it was a fun video but I honestly didn't feel any amount of wonder that they won match after match since it was still Wolfey who was basically playing.
Im a recent sub and im really impressed by how much effort you put into the videos, and the adaptability you show just to make a team for a friend, and not to mention the cheat sheet, I can tell you are proud of that one. Really good job man, keep it up.
This was great. Both of y'alls content is a joy and seeing you two collab is awesome. Now I'm out here imagining Jaiden teaching Wolfey to make a brief Pokemon animation for her channel 🤣
I feel like you should do this with Ludwig. I was pretty impressed how far he made it during Pokemon Challenges's random tournament. I think he has some natural pokemon skill so with some guidance from the Champ he could actually become a really good VGC player.
Wolfey have you considered the idea of Shorts for the little breakdowns of pokemon you do? Even for the ones you have already done, I would love a "VGC Choices Explained Quick" series like that
I love seeing Wolfe help other people and learn so much from just the convos had! I always want to be a better player and learn so much for watching! Hope you keep creating more! 😄
I’m a “casual competitive” battler so seeing a Nuzzlocke/Playthrough player getting coached into competitive battling and making it to Master Ball tier makes me wish I had such a great teacher too :)
You'll get there bro,I was first coached into competitive scene as well back in XY era. Started as casual player like the most of us are, then trying single format, then a friend coached me for VGC in-prep for a small local tourney I had, then instantly got hooked into it.
Man, this was really nice. Im not new to the franchise, but i am very new to competitive. Sw&Sh is the first game so far that got me interested in comp. I did alot of my own research but also reached out to forums and discord stuff and they were less than kind. Though i agree i am definitely a noob, i did have the pleasure of beating one of the guys with my dubwool and wigglytuff, though I definitely dont know how i did it and am still to wet behind the ears to play comp confidently lmfao. I learned a lot just by watching this, and seeing jaiden play and have fun with a world champ gives me a little hope that i might be able to give it another go when I have time to make an actual team sometime.
This video is honestly really helpful so far, and I’m only about halfway into it atm. As a person trying to get into competitive Pokémon, definitely taking some mental notes
This sounds like a really cool concept. Hope you can collab with other content creators in the future or even host a tournament where different non pokemon centered content creators try to make their favorite pokemon viable in a team and possibly have coaching from pros.
What’s cooler than Jaiden is that fucking spreadsheet and tailoring her team to her favorites. The amount of work my boy I recognize it. If this Pokémon world champ thing doesn’t work you have a future in Excel spreadsheets

Yooo new intro song and drawing!
Love seeing Wolfey teach people competitive pokemon, Jaiden makes great content and I'm glad to see you two in a collab!
I feel like you should do this with Ludwig. I was pretty impressed how far he made it during Pokemon Challenges's random tournament. I think he has some natural pokemon skill so with some guidance from the Champ he could actually become a really good VGC player.
i could hear wolfey's joy when he introduced "regieleki"
Your editor is incredible! The pacing made 20 minutes feel like 3, keep up the amazing work!
Wolfey have you considered the idea of Shorts for the little breakdowns of pokemon you do? Even for the ones you have already done, I would love a "VGC Choices Explained Quick" series like that
I’m still learning competitive and a lot of this helped me, thank you :) and continue pumping out the great content
We love you wolfe, thanks for providing banging content recently :)
Honestly a great video. Would love for this to be like a mini series with other creators
2:01 Groudon looks like my back bone!
The cheat sheet graphics are amazing and honestly would love to see more of those for other Pokemon/teams
This is really fun to watch, I love hearing the strategic details that go into this
"I just want to tell you I lost 20 coin flips one time" But you also manage to release Jacob's Dr. Bustdown so I think your luck even out with that.
Wolfey: Do you wanna try Gastro-?
Jaiden: YES
36:26 Seeing the name and how the character looks like, I can't help but think of Fawful's Minion.
The collaboration i didn't know i wanted. Thank you Wolfey
You're such a good teacher, very understanding, fun, and clear when explaining things. Great video man.
your editing has been amazing lately keep it up wolfey!
This video is honestly really helpful so far, and I’m only about halfway into it atm. As a person trying to get into competitive Pokémon, definitely taking some mental notes
"I lost 20 coin flips one time"- Jaiden - 2022
"YOU WHAT?!?!" - Wolfey - 2022
This sounds like a really cool concept. Hope you can collab with other content creators in the future or even host a tournament where different non pokemon centered content creators try to make their favorite pokemon viable in a team and possibly have coaching from pros.
That is such a fun idea for a tournament!
This new style of content is so well put together! Loved it from start to end!
Please please make this a series, these videos are so much fun and it's something you're really good at explaining.

*Jaiden:* _"Gastrodon's -???"_
*Me:* _"Yeah, so true. Couldn't agree more."_
What’s cooler than Jaiden is that fucking spreadsheet and tailoring her team to her favorites. The amount of work my boy I recognize it. If this Pokémon world champ thing doesn’t work you have a future in Excel spreadsheets
Oh my GOSH this looks so so fun... I wanna do this so bad! If this was a patron tier I would be fumbling for my wallet I'm not even gonna lie. Team building is my weakest skill for sure.
I love the "Bulky Bacon"
i cant express how much i love this name
When i find a Yveltal in the future this is his name 100%
I watched this and the moment Wolfey said Incineroar is probably the best pokemon in the game i was like YES! also im not that into competitive but Wolfey makes it fun
Gastrodon is pretty much Jaiden’s signature Pokémon. If she were in the Adventures manga that would be her staple team member besides her starter like Red’s Poliwrath.
