Thanks again Eric! Would definitely be way easier to fire down this trail in one go instead of spending 3.5 hours filming 😂. Next time I’ll do a classic gopro run on it I think!
Paul, have you posted your GoPro video of you riding this trail yet? There are over 2 1/2 hours before dark, get your light on and let's goooooooooooooooo! p.s. we're expecting to hear singing.

This was awesome! It's hard to convey the tension and fear, but this was one of the best I've seen on TH-cam. I think most people who have ridden any amount of time biking can empathize with what you are going through. Thanks for being vulnerable, it is what I think sets your channel apart.
That's what I do on my channel - stoked when someone comments this! You've made my day. Filming yourself while riding really makes you accountable for not doing things, it motivates me for sure next time I'm riding down the trail. You're rad, keep being rad ✊

This is an awesome combination of someone confident on the trail showing you the moves and encouraging you to ride them. As others have mentioned the camera angles from below definitely help to show at least a little how steep some of this stuff is. I hope you do another collaboration together.
Love the vid mate good to see actual nerves and overcoming them. Its also great to see you having enough self awareness to say no to some of ghe features. Good job keep em coming.
Thanks Laird! One of the reasons I started this channel was to knock down my pride a bit and be more self aware of my actual riding level - I’m a punter! Really appreciate these comments, it shows I’m getting my content right 👌
I am just starting to ride and its a little intimidating for an absolute novice to swallow pride and just accept i cant do most things yet haha but just to enjoy my little progressions when they come.
I just love watching people challenging themselves until they succeed. Its just awesome! Going down a nasty slab with a big scream of joy at the bottom :D Priceless!
That was a great vid Paul. I was right there with you on the anxiety of each feature....except the part when you did them all. I think I would have wussed out on a few you did. Good job dude.
Paul, I really enjoy watching your progression. Those parts somehow makes us closer spiritually, if you know what I mean. I feel for you. It's very inspiring to be a better rider. Keep it up! btw, it's an already known fact, but worth mentioning: Eric is a very good teacher!
Most entertaining video guys :) I can relate so much to how your legs are shaking on top of those features. And you did a great job - together with Eric - to overcome those doubts and fears. 5:43 is probably the best mtb-youtube moments I saw this year, kudos for trying and clearing it finally, I would for sure have chickened out! Hat to hit subscribe immediately! Great channel!

Loved it, great British sense of humor. Thanks for putting yourself out there and making a great video. The fear of doing some of those features must have been great but you overcame it.
No worries Todd! Stoked you enjoyed it. The fear was real! If you don't do something first time, there's no point in pretending like the world is perfect, ya know?
I would recommend only trying this trail when you are having an "on" day. Preferably when it is dry. With a full face helmet. This trail sticks in my mind as it is one of those trails you ride once and maybe never again. I can still remember completing it and how good it felt. There are a few overgrown offshoots on this trail that have gotta be red diamonds. That rooty drop at 6:48 is a mind bender; you just have to bounce down it in the correct fashion. Suspension forks weren't designed with this kind of obstacle.
If you are looking for some excitement try it on a hard tail. I road this trail shortly after it was built. the bottom of the trail had not been completed. It looks harder now that its been ridden lots.
I used to ride the most technical trail in my State every other day, with no helmet, jean shorts, and a no-suspension Giant tube bike. It wasn't as fancy as this trail (we didn't have any of those beautiful wood ladderpaths, those are like some sort of Robin Hood tree villa stuff!) but I hit it with my best friend day in and day out and at first we tried to get through without stopping to rest, then without falling, and eventually for speed, blasting past guys with thousand-plus-dollar bikes and race shirts etc. This point of me telling you this isn't to brag, because I'm not bragging - it's to tell you that one of the reasons why we were able to be so damn good at this is because we had absolutely no idea that what we were doing was really hard, or that we totally should have had helmets on (this was when they were just getting popular), or so many other things that I've learned since then. But we had no real fear of the obstacles because we knew how to ride and could either put our bikes in between ourselves and an obstacle or we knew how to jump clear and roll if we absolutely sh*t the bed. Most of the obstacles on the trail you showed looked like they'd be WAY easier if you stopped worrying and just went for them - the hardest bits I saw were the short landings and sharp turns after. Otherwise, just shotgun everything and woo-hooooo all the way down. YOU CAN DO IT, PAUL!
So glad I've found your channel and Instagram. You are amazing 👍. What I really like is you ride like me and about the same level (you are better). So love to watch and think if you can ride these then maybe so can I. Thank you so much. Honestly love this channel. From one Paul to another 👍

One of the things I am curious about is have you ever raced competitively aka XC? I was a racer about 18 years ago for 10 years. Life took over and 'serious' jobs. My point is that the majority of XC courses in the UK back in the day had technical sections such as these, and when in competition you have to 100 percent commit or lose places. That gives you the confidence, similar to your other video DH, training which you were singing. Racing XC thinking of the guy behind taking your position is very similar in my humble opinion.

Sweet vid! ... consider grabbing a fullface or even something like the bell super DH for trails like this to kill some of that fear. Also elbow pads because those rocks can hurt! Might seem like overkill in the short term but your long term gains will be better

I bet if you were just riding with a buddy without stopping all the time you could follow someone into it no problem. I definitely would have chickened out of that big slab you took 10 minutes to decide to drop!
To be it seems surprising they aren't using any protection pads. You're knees and elbows can take one hell of a hit when covered in protection
Seriously, being comfortable on flats will do your confidence a world of good for that kind of riding.
And I just noticed your other new video in "up next" Good call!
Haha it's not about flat pedals! Sometimes trails are just hard and intimidating, nothing to do with the gear you are using.
+Paul The Punter yeah for sure, but being able to just step on/off your bike in a sketchy spot makes a huge difference.
What pads do you use
Right now I have the 7idp transition pads
Love this one Paul.
That was awesome. A gopro run would have killed it. We never get to see how steep these trails are. It really showes your insanity. MORE PLEASE.
Thanks so much Todd - I'm working on it!
Did you like your slash?
Sweet vid! ... consider grabbing a fullface or even something like the bell super DH for trails like this to kill some of that fear. Also elbow pads because those rocks can hurt! Might seem like overkill in the short term but your long term gains will be better
I have a fox proframe and while I love it, the full face doesn't help with the fear! Fear is just fear. Hard trails are just hard. Life is life. Deep comment replies are deep. 🙏
That's fair enough, keep at it :)
Nice and steep! Nice job, cool video!
Cheers crew!!!!
At least Paul lives up to his name, "punter". It's a lot better than "Paul the twat". lol Good job Paul. You've got bigger stones than me.
Haha a lot of people would still give me that other name - myself included! 😂
paul you would love imminator on fromme, theres more skinneys on that trail than actual trail!
It's on the list now!
Hey paul!
Im buying the ragley mmmbop 2020. Do you approve?
