    Enjoyed the video. I’m 9 weeks out from a TKR and still have a bit of swelling. Even with the swelling, I’ve managed a 110 degree knee bend. What’s the best way to reduce swelling and achieve maximum knee bend before I hit the 12 week mark?!

    Possible other tools that help increasing the bend angle are a stationary bike (the lower the seat post the more bend angle) and a rowing machine to mimik the heel slide. I ve got a bilateral unicondylar knee arthroplasty d13 and both work for me.

    Will these exercises help even if you don’t have surgery? I had a meniscus tear, about 3 months ago. I feel the pain when i try to bend my knee completely. My doc suggested to do a surgery, but i refused to do so, as I’m able to walk around comfortably. It’s only when i bend my knee while lying down to the chest, it really hurts after a certain degree. Will these exercises in your video help me out??

      Stretch your recessus suprapatellaris by massaging it,
      Stretch your m. quadriceps because it reaches to your tibia over your patella
      Giving it some lenght reduces pressure beneath your patella

    I just found your videos. Had a lTKR on 2/26/21, and I was doing pretty good at first. Then I developed tendonitis in my quad tendon and it really set me back. I'm over 4 months post op, and am back to a 90 - 95 degree bend. But last week I couldn't even get to 90 degrees. I'm starting over now. The PT I had before just wasn't any good. Didn't seem to care. Wouldn't tell me anything, just put me on a bike machine and that was it. I had to ask her to measure my flexion. I got a different PT now, and am paying him myself. He meets me at the gym and we are strengthening my muscles. I have the knee glide and I am working to improve my flexion. My question is, at what point is it too late to improve knee flexion?

    • @kukkymalik6790
      @kukkymalik6790 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi guide me what are you doing my knee stuck on 90 and last 20 days before I achieved 90 and I feel pt just doing time pass and take money every day. My 2 month complete.

    • @Thommadura
      @Thommadura ปีที่แล้ว

      There is really no point that is too late to improve - yes it will be easier closer to the surgery but Athletes with no real problems use stretching exercises to increase Flexibility all the time. My case was particularly problematic - I completely ruptured my Quad Tendon and the first three (Yup) operation ALL failed completely within 6 weeks. The fourth operation included a Graft and anchors and I was told not to start PT for 8 weeks at least. AND I still got a small tear in that surgery. The doctor said I would never get to 90 degrees - But I am currently at 105 degrees At the end of the fourth month and I WILL get another 10 or so degrees. (Maybe more).. In fact the last 10 degrees came in the last month. RICE is extremely important since I still have inflammation in the Knee area but it is coming down a little. I use a compression sock on that leg too. Please note I am over 80 but my mom is still alive and can walk better than me for now. Most important - do not give up and do not listen to those who tell you it cannot be done as well. They are wrong.

    • @Thommadura
      @Thommadura ปีที่แล้ว

      I forgot to add - Voltaren Cream is Diclofenac generic - is a NSAID pain reliever and Anti-inflammatory that works for me. It is expensive BUT Walmart and others now have a Generic version that is less than Half the price and Costco sells it as well. ASK YOUR DOCTOR though - it depends on what other pain relievers you are taking whether you can use it or not and if you are using a blood thinner you probably cannot use it. My doctorate is in Music and I cannot prescribe medicine.
