Good video ; Patience is essential....17 months out...age 76. Was worried early on about tightness, felt like the surgeon duct taped about 8 turns in there...he laughed, tried to tell me it was ok but it was a while before it sunk in...could do a perfect straight right away but never could bend beyond 112...I fretted , wanted the 120 but now, at age 77,112 is all I really need. No longer feels too tight...it's pretty good really. I walk a mile every other day w no limp. A recumbent bike was tremendously helpful.I ride 2 miles on the days between walking. Good luck,all...this man knows his stuff.
Great video. I had my knee replaced 6 weeks ago and was told that I’m not getting good flexion cause I’m not working hard enough. I do 3 sessions a day at home and PT in a facility 2 times a week. Almost all that you said was what is happening to me and I realize now that I’m not allowing myself time to heal. Thank you for this video.
I had a TKR almost 2 weeks ago. I am an overachiever and impatient. I want to be better NOW. You video talks about 'recovery' That hit home! I will work that into my routine. Thank you so much!
Hi Tony. I had a TKR 4 weeks ago and my range of motion is 98. I started doing stretching and exercising since day 4 after surgery and I considered that I was advanced in the recovery process. I am 48 yo and I have worked too hard since I could and now I feel that I got stuck. But at the same time… how do we know that we are stuck? How do we measure that? Now seeing your videos, I feel that if I keep doing what I am doing and I have patience, then I should get results. Right now, my knee feels tight when I bend it (too tight at the front) sometimes too tight around the incision and I even though I do PT and my exercises twice a day (always reaching out my max pain level), I am not seeing a noticeable change in range motion. I have seen many many videos from Drs and from PT experts and I absolutely love your videos. They are so knowledgeable, kind, clear and they give hope to us. The people who you dedicate your life to improve ours. You are great! Thank you 🙏🏻
Tony, your videos are so very helpful and, at 20 days PO, they're a great source of information and comfort to me. You have such a calming demeanor and I'm grateful that you've taken the time to support this TKR community!
Thank you Tony. Such a motivated speech. I'm from Malaysia. 4 weeks post op & feel bad because can only reach up to 90degree flex. My surgeon want me to work harder to reach 120 & it make me feel depress and giving up until I came across this video.
Your video today is spot on for me. I am at 8 weeks and struggle to get 107 degrees but I do have 0 on my extension. After listening to you today I feel relieved that I am pushing to hard and need more recovery. Thank you and I love your videos have a great weekend!!
I follow you daily. I LOVE how incredibly informative your videos are and how much I learn from you. Keep doing these excellent videos. You are helping many TKR patients feel better about their chances of full recovery. THANK YOU ❤️
I had surgery for a ruptured patellar tendon and I’ve been so frustrated comparing my range of motion to other people and I finally feel a little relief after watching this video. Thanks for the reassurance.
I just had my right knee replace 3 weeks ago. I have been studying Martial Arts for 55 years. I’ve trained very hard all my life. I want to thank you for your very honest and truthful approach to our Rehab. Thank you very much. I’m in tears now. Cause I was so afraid that I couldn’t train again. Thank you so much. Really. You have provided me a more in depth understanding of my rehab and knee operation. I can’t thank you enough. I am making good progress and am happy with it. I’m not killing myself with pain. I know that you really have to let any serious injury repair or damage take time to heal. I’m 65 and I know that all my training and workouts will be a major factor in my rehabilitation. I’ve been doing it either with weight training. Or Basic Martial Art training. Today I will do what we call basic beginning Kata training. Slow but moving. I will be using my cane for stability when moving the right leg. Thank so much for you sharing such important information. .
Thanks Tony, you're awesome. I have the total knee replacement six months before, I can walk normally but sometimes not too stabilize and hard to go up and down a stair. I am a piano teacher so I need to bend my left feet more than 95 degree for balancing while I play, but now I'm just around 90 degree. Just you said I haven't had any good sleep in every single night it's so frustrated and depression but your videos make me feel good and hope. Thanks again 😊
You are SO inspiring Tony!!! I am 3 weeks post surgery tomorrow. Doing well and making progress which is what is important. Yes, sleep is getting better but not constantly good every night and I try and not stress about it; just do what I can. Am on a cane but doing lots of independent walking and try to get up and move every hour. Just went to grocery store this afternoon for the first time and took advantage of big aisles to walk down. Did great! Am very encouraged. Not on a bike yet but I think this week. Again, THANK YOU SO MUCH for all your encouragement. It means the world!!!
Your 75 yo from UK here again. You are truly my guide and mentor. So appreciative of all your advice. Don’t know where I would be without you. 2 weeks from surgery - dressing and stitches off later today. Seem to be progressing fairly well, but what I would give for a nights sleep ! Pat
Three weeks ago I had double knee replacement surgery done. I've had pain in my right leg for at least six years. My quads would tighten up causing much discomfort. I've done exercises and have used knee braces to help alleviate the discomfort. I'm still dealing with that pain on top of having both knees replaced. I often feel very discouraged with the small range of motion I have in my right leg even though I'm faithfully doing my exercises every day. My muscles are continuously sore. I ice my knees every hour, elevate them and wear my compression socks. Thank you for your video I just stumbled upon on you tube. I think I'm being too impatient with my body. Your video gave me some words of encouragement and that is what I'd like to thank you for.
I really believe that you are making a valid point about the recovery needed between doing the work. After five weeks post op of TKR on my right knee, I did my left. The work on my knees are going to be varied for a short time, but I look forward to some real progress down the road. Thanks for the reminder that after doing the work, that you need to rest and allow the body to do it’s thing before doing more work. We tend to want quick results and may be messing up the progress with that lack of patience. Need to listen to our bodies. Thanks!
Thanks I’m on day 10. With the pain block I was 0 pain level. Now I go back and forth I’m using my walker. Do my exercises and hope I don’t have to return to Narco. Is that too much to expect?
Thank you, excellent explanation. I'm a 65 year old very active individual, I trained for the surgery and said to my surgeon I was going to be his quickest recovery..... 12 weeks out and now I'm on the Dynasplint because I just was not getting to where I needed to be with both flexion and extension. you just made me realize I have been overworking it . this is really a lightbulb moment for me. Patience is key.
Your videos that I have watched I’ve been a lifesaver for me. I am three weeks out of postop from a complete knee replacement. My doctor and Pt have been pushing my leg to the point where I am screaming. Your video that you did where you lay on your back and you put your legs up on the couch made so much sense. This video I just watched confirm that I’m OK my knee is very tight. But just on the top part and that’s good. I’ve only gotten to 90% and that’s OK. Before surgery I was on 4 tennis teams and walked 4 miles 4x a week. I am sleeping good and I am still moving around not just sitting on the couch but my body also need recovery. Thank you for your videos I will keep watching.
Hi Tony, I am 10 days post full knee replacement. I've been watching your videos preparing for surgery and since. Todays video was what I needed to hear. I'm one of those pushing to get back to my best not giving my knee time to restore between sessions. Thank you for your education, encouragement and instruction!
I had knee arthroplasty surgery done on both knees right side went well left knee I'm struggling to bend, watching your videos helped me alot. Thank you
You are the best PT ! Your videos bring me back to reality. It’s not a continual advancement. Got to learn to progress but not over do it. Thanks a million for your videos. Start PT out of house in a week!
Excellent discussion. You are right, I am becoming an expert in total knee replacement recovery as a patient. Three months three weeks since surgery. Completely miserable but making progress. Flexion near 120 when forced. Thank you for the explanations.
I am Almost 3 months post op. I have had a slow but steady progress . I have really appreciated all your videos . ( and i work for an orthopedic office).
OMG PT Tony, I feel like you are talking directly to me. Everything what you said applies to me. My left total knee replacement was three weeks pulse four days ago. You video is a realistic and great for me. You made feel better when you have talked about a tight knee. Thank you.
Thank-you! You're getting me through understanding the mechanics of my knee. I've never rested so much before this. So relaxation is vital. Especially after therapy. 8 to 10 weeks out. I did the press. And man 45 70 minutes bike, wall slides, basic excercises. I couldn't walk the next day. Gave a rest and continued my normal exercises. Now it's not as painful. Because I rested. Huge to understand. It is tight. But moving. Amen 🙏 Thanks for sharing. Signed long road to go. Have a good day!❤😢😊
This was so timely for me. I am 2 weeks out and wondering about forcing flexion. Yes, I would prefer a tighter knee. I love the idea that there is a purpose to stiffening as we age. I appreciate your maturity and common sense. You are my go to guy now for sound advice and knowledge.
Great video. My surgeon has the same philosophy that the soft tissue needs time to recover. The surgery is very traumatic and although it’s very important to do the physical therapy to regain range of motion, he stresses that you need to take time to rest and recover. I had my right knee replaced 17 days ago and I'm fortunate that so far things are going very well. I had my first PT session 3 days after surgery and I hit 102° flexion. In my next session on day 7 I reached 113°, and I can now achieve 120° with ease. I saw my doctor several days ago for a two-week follow-up and he suggested that I stop the PT for now and just continue to do the home exercises that were prescribed. The reason being is that the PT people have plans which say once the patient reaches certain milestones then they move on to the next level, and based on my progress so far the next step would be to start working on strength training. He doesn't want me to work on strength training until the 6 week mark because he wants to give that soft tissue a chance to recover.
yes ,I have been pushed by some people to really work the knee hard and ended up unable to even get out of bed the next day without alot of pain in the front and back of the knee. I am happy to hear you say I can do ok if I don't push it that hard too soon after surgery, thank you
I love, love, love your videos for all of us!! I am more than grateful that I found your channel. You have helped me to make sense out of my recovery journey, why I chose knee replacement and how to proceed. Sincerely, thank you.
Love your channel and thank you for all the information,I just got knee replacement and I'm educating myself before I start outpatient physical therapy and you are so good the way you explained plus examples of the do's and don't , I'm feeling confident all will be ok. Many Blessings and thank you😊✌️💜
I love your videos. It helps me be better than I was in the past. I am determined to get back to normal after my TKR surgery. Your clarity helps so much.
Thank you so much... just found your channel, and this, as well as other videos, are speaking directly to my concerns. My knee replacement was 8 weeks ago, and I am only at 107 degrees of flexion. I've been worried and concerned for the future until I found your videos. Now I feel like I can focus on gradual improvement and not a fixed schedule.
I needed to see this video today. I am 3 weeks out of surgery and I am very down on things because I feel like I am not progressing my home therapy ended and been waiting on the go ahead for PT. I set up my evaluation appt today for the 22nd in Monroe Ohio Can't wait to start the journey!! Thank you so much for making this video.. it definitely helps with the mental side of the perspective as well
I really appreciate what you have to say here...i have been totally stressed by my inability to do my exercises 3 x per day, despite knowing I am making great progress in other areas - all of which use my new knee joint...Thank you so much for the peace of mind your videos afford me.
I have extreme tightness in the back of the knee. What kind of OTHER exercises should I do? I don’t have a physical therapist to do any kind of manipulation. All I have is youtube, and the best I’ve found on this subject is you.
Thanks for the info!!!!!! I had a total knee replacement about five weeks ago. I am not at the place I would like to be your videos have been so helpful and encouraging. I love watching it. Thanks a lot TONY.
Thanks, Anthony. I just set up my pre surgery consultation with my Orthopedist for mid January 2021. Love your videos and Facebook blog. They are extremely helpful.
Thanks. You gave me a good mental image of how the knee joint moves during my ROM exercises. The comments on recovery were helpful. I'm just over 2 weeks post bilateral knee replacement and I find your videos reassuring
This was a great video. As someone who came from a strength and conditioning background years ago, this made so much more sense. I am almost 6-weeks post op, and I think starting next week, I’ll aim to structure my program to allow for more focused sessions followed by a lot more recovery time. I have felt I pushed it too hard like you mentioned, then after backing off for a few days from pain I went from 100 degrees flexion to 120 in one week. Great content, please keep the videos coming 🙌🏻
Thank you Tony. Your seasoned perspective is very useful. You speak with kind authority. If I were to just jump in on the first day post op, trying to do all the exercises and repetitions recommended by a PT educator in the pre surgical program I would need more pain meds and more energy and definitely an ambulance to pick up the pieces. They, nurses and therapists, probably said not to push too hard the first day post op. But, what sunk in to me is that I’m not going to make it if I don’t immediately get to it. Anyway, I’m listening to my body, following directions but not pushing beyond what I consider a safe zone for me…day 2, not moaning in agony trying for 15 min getting off the toilet.
I am new to your channel. I had a TKR 91/2 months ago. My progress has been slow. I hit a new high on my ROM at 117° last week but this week I am at 108°. This is typical for me. I step forward 2 steps back. Frustrating. What you've said in this video has helped me to understand why. I am definitely one who pushes to hard. I definitely need to work on my balance between rest and PT. Thank you so much for pointing that out. So happy I found this channel!
Wow! This is me! I had my TKR in March, I got to 4 weeks and my flexion wasn't happening so I had to have a manipulation after 6weeks post Op. The day after the manipulation I started PT 6 out of 7 days a week. I started to regain motion, but it was back to day one! I am struggling between 93° and 98°. I am overdoing it between PT and home PT on my own I completed 3 weeks going 6 days a week and I feel I haven't progressed enough. I hurt and worry about injury....I have called my Drs office about my issues with my knee cap now. I pre
@@lindawestergard4712 you sound exactly like me. I had to check to see if it wasn’t a post I had put… I had the manipulation two weeks ago and did therapy every day from the day after the manipulation until today which is day 10 and I have gained some range of motion, but it is so stiff in my thigh and knee is completely completely bruised, blue, and my thigh, pain and IT band won’t allow me to bend it any further. It feels like my thigh is going to pop… I ice I rest I do everything and it gets very frustrating… How has yours turned out?
Thx for this! I’m two weeks postop, and my healthcare plan failed me so no physical therapy. I’ve been watching videos and trying to do it on my own. I’ve been super stressed that I’m not at 90° flexion yet I understand now I need to give my knee up a bit of a break! Thx so much!
Proud to be the 1K like on this vid - thanks Tony! I'm 4 months PO, doing well. This channel, and the Facebook group, has helped me a lot - even before surgery.
12 weeks post fractured femur, raptured quad and knee surgery. Flexion only at 50 degrees and feels like I cant go any further. This video is reassuring. I understand others frustration! Thankyou.
Thank you so much for your great videos! I used to live in Middletown, Ohio. Knowing that is where you are, drew me in to watch more! You have helped me to understand so much more about the whole process! I am 4 weeks out, and have just started sleeping in bed at night, beginning to get better rest. I am just getting that 90degree flexion at therapy but not maintaining it yet. My other knee is planned for 8 wks from my first. I am hoping that I will have the flexion to be able to support the second knee when getting up and down and toileting by the time of my next surgery. I have been taking about 20-25 minute walks outside, walking with a cane, trying to increase a little each day. Again, thank you! Your information is so needed and much appreciated! Not everyone takes the time to explain things as they should.
Thank you so much!! Day 11 of TKR and I’m feeling anxious that I’m at about 80 degrees flexion. I’ll back off more and take your fine advice. Feeling better just writing this out! Thanks again
Hi Tony, thanks for the really informative videos, they have certainly helped me with my progression to full fitness following a knee replacement. I start week eight tomorrow, yesterday l hit a 9.5 kms walk covering 16,000 steps my knee feels great and have about 130 degrees bend. Only issue is sleep l currently get about 2 hours followed by a 3 hour sleep then a final 2 hours before l get up, l am hoping sleep improves soon however l feel okay with no pain just aches at the back of the knee at night during the day things are great. That’s my update really pleased with the outcome the first weeks pain was worth it.
Thank you so much ,,, your videos are very encouraging,, 5+ weeks out and only 95 degrees,, some days are tighter than others and i do get frustrated,, last night i told myself ok its time to really push it harder,, but after watching this i realize i think i need to give it a break,, thanks for the support and encouragement !
I couldn't find the video where you used a wedge to increase flexion. IT WORKS!!! At PT I was at only 108 today. I was telling the therapist and demonstrated and hung out about 15 min. I was at 118.
Brilliant advice and video, Tony. I am week 3 post-PKR. If I wasn't living here in New Zealand I would support your practise as a patient. Thanks for the excellent information 👍🇺🇸🇳🇿
So grateful for this video. This is exactly my case, and your description of working too hard as a person who had TKR for quality of life improvement is right on. i should have had a prescription for REST. LOL LOL. Thank you and high five to other TKR folks. We can do this!
The video was super helpful to me, because I'm 4 weeks to the day December 25th. The surgery was successful and know sign's of infection, and my scar is looking great. To your point my range of motion is somewhere around 107- 115° my P.T. would like to see 120-130° which I think will come in time, because I'm still swollen on the knee cap and lower part of the knee. I also think my recovery will be a little longer due to having Arthritis for 10years and I was "bow" legged , with bone spurs on the inside knee.
Man what an awesome video. , had mine done 8 weeks ago and thought I was behind what others have experienced but all my dr , physio ppl have said I’m on track. But you made perfect sense. Thx
You are amazing. THANKYOU for reminding me my body needs to heal. I was thinking that I needed to do therapy 3 Xs a day no matter what!!! I need to do less. THANKYOU
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and positive reinforcement with us. I had PT today and it was so difficult! I'm having a hard time with flexion and I know I have to push more while working on flexion exercises at home. Your encouragement helps so much! Thanks a million!
Hey Tony-thank you for this video. It’s spot on. I told my PT I have anxiety about coming to therapy because it hurts so bad when they try to bend my knee back. Both today and last Monday the pain was so bad that I am completely done in for the day. I had the hardest time doing the other exercises as well. Why does the PT have to bend it so hard like that. I am 27 days post op today and was 110. I was 109 on Thursday so she said that was basically no improvement. Discouraging words .
Sorry to hear that. You will find different opinions across different PT's. Watch my LIVE video from today. I talk about my approach. It might not be the best or the fastest but it consistently works and minimizes the patient's pain.
@@totaltherapysolutions I am recovering from ACL/MCL complete repair. ACL is allograph tissue. So far we pushed the flexion to 70 % with pain and extreme tightness. I am almost 1 month post surgery. I do my homework and push into the pain as much as I can so far. Is this ok?
Thank you again Tony for the videos especially this one; I have a tight knee but that's what we needed. I'm not doing PT, a little bit, just really recovery even after 7 weeks; it hasn't been a walk in the park but eventually I'll be walking in the park! 😊
Thank you for all your videos It has really helped me to overcome my negative mindset as I was very disappointed by my progress. You have helped me discover that everyone progresses differently Thanks so much
Thanks so much for your videos. I’m 16 days post op of my TKR. My range of motion is 100. I agree with the tight knee. Before surgery it was loose. I can definitely feel a difference. My greatest challenge is relying on my knee again. Totally mental. Thanks again for this channel. Very helpful. Also an affirmation all is going as it should.
So I’m 6 weeks post op and still having and hard time with bending Still very tight I have both knees that’s are horrible my Sergeant told me he hasn’t seen knees this bad in a very long time He also told me my recovery was going to be long could even be 12 weeks or longer But it’s very very hard to not get discouraged and wish I had never done surgery when I know that I still have another knee to get done 🥴 Thank you for the words of wisdom Trying hard to not give up 😫
Hi JoAnn, if I can share one thing it is that in my history of patient care, it seems like there has always been one really challenging knee and one easier knee. The odds are on your side for an easier one next time.
Thank you. You’ve made me feel better after going to my PT twice a week and working on my knee at the gym for an hour everyday and feeling fatigued. After 6 weeks of my continuous bending improvements from 85° to 115° has now receded back to 110° on 7th week. Frustrating.
My surgery was to repair a ruptured quadriceps tendon rather than a knee replacement, but there were some good insights here for me. Flexion is a slow process for me, too. But, I’m slowly getting to get back to activity I enjoy. Hiking, biking, but shorter and slower for now.
I can’t thank you enough for sharing your wealth of experience, you are so generous. O wow I’ve been so thrilled with my surgery and the 90+ flexion from day 1. Tony you say it can never be tightened and may be unstable, are there any exercises that you could recommend I should concentrate on to make it as good as possible? Currently at day 11 postop and walking 1 mile per day as well as the given bends and stretches and kitchen etc duties, is that about right at this stage? Also would a looser knee make it more susceptible to pain behind the knee? Which is definitely limiting how far I can flex.
Great video and thank you for posting so many. It is very helpful. You mentioned it shouldn't hurt behind the knee. I have my surgery in four days, but I have had pain behind my knee for a long time especially when stretching, so I'm wondering if it would it be normal for me to have pain behind my knee. It sounds like communication with your therapist and surgeon are important, so I will work on that. Thank you!
3 months out from TKR, PT was very limited first 3 weeks, now kind of stuck at 105 degree flexion, extension is 0. Still pushing exercises at home. Should I still be icing afterwards and can I still make improvements at this point. Active 58 year old. Love your videos. Thank you
Hi just started watching your video I love the way you explain its almost 7days I had a replacement done and oh yes I'm in serious pain killing me rite now 🙃.
You are a Godsend , Tony! Your videos are so comprehensibly made and very encouraging. I now have both my knees replaced . The right one on the 3rd of this month, 2 and half weeks now. I’m working on it, as instructed by my PT. Outdoor PT starts on the 24 th. But your videos are are most enlightening!
Hey man just want to say big thanks on very helpfull advices in both of your videos(other one eith hamstring activation).I had an injury 4 years ago ,didnt take care of it right away but eventually 4 years after,MRI said medial meniscus tear and nothing else. However when ive seen an Ortoped he said my ACL is fractured aswell,so i end up having surgery on meniscus but didnt do the ACL because doctor concluded the ACL injury just by cheking the knee with a hand.So after few months of surgery i couldnt be active for personal reasons and eventually i dedicated full 3 months to just work every single muscle in my knee and like you said i turned up knowing the whole anatomy of the knee.Turns out my quads were super strong from short step walking and my hamstrings were litterally dead and most likely torn and twisted up in the hip as ivr managed to reverse twist with swiming on my back and eventually twisting my leg from the hip flexor alowing blood flow into the hamstring and finally after 4 years being able to work it to the fullest, thats when i saw your video about activating the hamstrings ,worked them for the half an hour of periodical preasure and pain so quads would release and hams would activate and to finally have my knee in the right possition alowing my meniscus to heal first time after the surgery.I still feel few things here and there but its so much less preasure in my knee.Question i am wondering about is would it be possible for my ACL not to be stretched or dammaged and the tibia to move out of the knee joint when i flex my calf only because of dead hamstrings or it has to be ACL ,because im considering PRP threatment for my ACL.Many thanks and best regards doc!(ps first time commenting anything in my life when it comes to social media so let that be a sign for the rest that have similar issue with knee because im listening to this guy advices from now on ,and ive followed so many in past few years since im battling with this problem as an past active person ,played sportd my whole life and had to reorganise my life due to this injury.

Thanks for the comment and watching.
Thanks for the comment and subscribing! You will get there. Less is more sometimes. Slow and steady.
I have that same question.
I'm facing a double replacement in about a month, so I very much appreciate hearing your experienced wisdom beforehand. You are appreciated, Tony!
6.5 WEEKS OUT DOUBLE REPLACEMENT I KNEEDED TO SEE THIS THANK YOU
I am new to your channel.
Previously had issues 8+ surgeries and feel that the last 10yrs have just been more issues up to 60yrs old now.
Wow!
Wow!!! I had no idea this video has so many LIKES! Thanks. And I am so glad the FB group is helping.
12 weeks post fractured femur, raptured quad and knee surgery. Flexion only at 50 degrees and feels like I cant go any further. This video is reassuring. I understand others frustration!
Thankyou.
You are so inspiring 🙏Thank u so much for giving me the hope to be able to walk again even in my hard situation.
Thanks so much for watching and supporting the channel.
Thank for the Viedo, it makes a lot of sense, I liked the loose knee tight knee explanation also the recovery example. Great video
WOWOWOWOWOW!!!!! Now I understand the Recovery component. This answers many questions. Thank you!
Thanks so much for the positive feedback. Glad that it helped.
You have shown me to slow down and listen to my body. Thank you
You are the best. I wish I had you as my real life therapist.
Thank you so much for this explanation. I didn't have the correct words to say to my PT and now I do.
Love listening to you. I am 4 weeks after replacement. Going well. Thanks for your information.
Man what an awesome video. , had mine done 8 weeks ago and thought I was behind what others have experienced but all my dr , physio ppl have said I’m on track. But you made perfect sense. Thx
7 days post op. Exactly what I needed. Many thanks!
You are amazing. THANKYOU for reminding me my body needs to heal. I was thinking that I needed to do therapy 3 Xs a day no matter what!!! I need to do less. THANKYOU
Good info. My TKR WAS July 3rd. Still not flexing well. Bending at 90/100. Staying on PT Fir another 6 weeks. And I work at it every day.
Is this ok?
Take a pain pill before you leave for therapy
Thank you again Tony for the videos especially this one; I have a tight knee but that's what we needed. I'm not doing PT, a little bit, just really recovery even after 7 weeks; it hasn't been a walk in the park but eventually I'll be walking in the park! 😊
Plan the recovery more than the exercise. Great tip! Thank you❣
Thank you for all your videos
It has really helped me to overcome my negative mindset as I was very disappointed by my progress. You have helped me discover that everyone progresses differently
Thanks so much
I just found out I tore my ACL completely. So surgery will be my next step. Thank you for your videos
The most helpful clips i could find on knee replacement therapy. Thank you very much!
I love your videos. You have a way of explaining things that help with understanding what is going on. Thank you so much 😊
So I’m 6 weeks post op and still having and hard time with bending
Still very tight
I have both knees that’s are horrible my Sergeant told me he hasn’t seen knees this bad in a very long time
He also told me my recovery was going to be long could even be 12 weeks or longer
But it’s very very hard to not get discouraged and wish I had never done surgery when I know that I still have another knee to get done 🥴
Thank you for the words of wisdom
Trying hard to not give up 😫
Hi JoAnn, if I can share one thing it is that in my history of patient care, it seems like there has always been one really challenging knee and one easier knee.
Thank you for all your tips and advice which has been so beneficial in my recovery of TKR.
Keep up the videos 👍🏽👏🏼🤩
God....here is a man you need to bless again and again
Thank you it’s amazing to see your videos esp now since I’ve done a bilateral knee replacement. I like to take it slow. Thk u God bless.
You are a great PT. Thanks for all of the clear and understandable explanation.
Thanks so much for the kind words.
Your the best. Thank you!
Clear and detailed. Thank you so much.

Thanks for the feedback.
Hi Tony, I appreciate your videos so much! I'm in my 3rd week post TKR surgery.
Thank you for this good advice I had. Total knee replacement 4 weeks ago
First of all thank you for your well explanatory video. I am awaiting for a total knee replacement and I would like to know how can I prepare for it?
Finally it makes sense why I had a flare up n cud hardly walk. Thank u so much!!
Thank you!
Excellent video. Thank you for all the time you put into your videos. Really appreciate you sharing your wealth of knowledge and your support group.
Thank you so much. The info is great and you are an excelllent and compassionate communicator.
3 months out from TKR, PT was very limited first 3 weeks, now kind of stuck at 105 degree flexion, extension is 0. Still pushing exercises at home. Should I still be icing afterwards and can I still make improvements at this point. Active 58 year old. Love your videos. Thank you
Thank you very very useful from a village in india
Thanks for the comment!
You are truly awesome! I am enjoying your videos. I am on POD 11 and have found myself pushing too hard. Great explanations!
Hi Melissa, I have a video titled "Am I doing too much?" See if you can find it. Thanks for the support.
Tony, a sincere thanks for this video! In it you said precisely what I needed to hear.
Hi Bev!!! A sincere you are welcome and thank YOU for watching.
Appreciate the encouragement Tony-Thank you alot!
Hi just started watching your video I love the way you explain its almost 7days I had a replacement done and oh yes I'm in serious pain killing me rite now 🙃.
Wow, so informative, needed this
You are a Godsend , Tony! Your videos are
so comprehensibly made and very encouraging. I now have both my knees replaced . The right one on the 3rd of this month, 2 and half weeks now. I’m working on it, as instructed by my PT. Outdoor PT starts on the 24 th. But your videos are are most enlightening!
Tony, your videos seem to hit the nail on the head. Thank you so much.
Thank you I must of need this message!!
