Valguero has the most dense swamp I have seen compared to other maps. It is easier to go to the AB zone and find it walking close to the lakes/rivers. I honestly don't bother with Barys since Thylas are far superior in caves, high jump, high melee, higher health, climb walls. You don't need to stun anything since Thylas can destroy anything in the water with the melee output it produces. Barys were popular when cryos didn't exist and plus, in the Island, they were useful for a few caves that have water and good for early caving.
BTW, that was my TP you saw. You can use it to go to AB zone, underwater or to my base :)

i got my Baryonyx from the AB zone. i love using them just remember they only heal with fish meat, but at least they heal quick and the fact they stun everything in the water with their tail whip its a no brainer for caving although the thyla is #1 Baryonyx gives it a run for its money

You want the Bary for its ability to stunn creatures in the water and it being way smaller than the Thyla. You got a bit unlucky with the stats though.
