I decided to replay the series until X comes out. Honestly XBC1 still blows my mind that it runs on the Switch, let alone that it worked on Wii. I am excited to see Monolith be able to push world design to a new level that no other AAA can compete with!
If much of the leaks are true then Switch 2 will 1080 then upscaling via dlss on the TV. How much of the system resources will be taken up for dlss. It seems some people think that dlss is some magic free improvements when it does take processing power to work. Nintendo not long ago said don't think of us in a power race so I still firmly say temper expectations.
It also depends what version/how good their dlss is since the current gen of games have had a lot of issues with the artifacting that comes with upscaling as well as smudgy temporal anti aliasing just to get certain textures and effects to work. Idk I see too many people tryna hype up theories like “ocarina of time 4k” or we’ll be getting AAA quality when not even the other current gen consoles can mangage 4k without sacrificing quality. I have a shitty setup so doesn’t bother me but theres a lot of people setting themselves up to be disappointed I think
DLSS will upscale to 4K costing about 10% of the system resources compared to 1080p alone. Other processes and settings can increase that drain. Still, its a significant saving versus 4K native.
*I calculated all the data peovided by the GPU and the DLSS (minus frame generation) and we will have the equivalence (ballpark) of the RTX 2060 in the Switch 2 (only thanks to DLSS). That is quite a bit ahead of the PS4 PRO in framerate and power, but not near the PS5 at all. The PS5 is equal to an RTX 2070 (which is leaps and bounds ahead of an RTX 2060).*
All of the Xenoblade games on Switch being playable on the Switch 2 and upscaled to 4k would be beyond amazing! Emulators already show what 4k internal resolution can do for those games, but the issue is that Xenoblade games are very demanding on emulators and I can't play X2 at full speed at all. Having it running at full speed and higher resolution on the new console would solve all my problems (I would just have to buy the darn thing, though).
holy yappington! but no i understand.... i can only imagine how amazing ToTK or Xenoblade could/would/will be when they have actual hardware that's better than a 10 year old cellphone. can you imagine a ToTK with a build limit of 500 and 10 times the items you can build with? Villages with more than 8 npcs? Creations actually staying and not disappearing? The next zelda can have farming and house/base customization like animal crossing.. it can have villages with 50 buildings and 100 npcs walking around and doing their thing. You could build howl's moving castle as your base and slowly drive it across the map as you quest and farm! the environment and all structures being destructible and/or subject to physics. not to mention just the general graphics and texture upgrades that would just make everything so much more immersive... imagine there being an ocean area where you can build a boat and just go off sailing for weeks and fishing, exploring islands, diving down and exploring coral reefs and stuff a bit like sub nautica, upgrading your boat, etc. I've been hoping modders can figure out how to bypass the building limit at least. If they had even a fraction of an xbox to work with ToTK would've been sooo much more insane. It's quite amazing what they achieved with the hardware they had though. freaking miraculous honestly.
Oh I have no doubts about that they've been able to work within the limits of a not as strong console to deliver amazing experiences, imagining what they can do with a system that's leagues more powerful is definetly an exciting thought no matter how you look at it.

Developers need to keep using tricks to get games running and playing good, they're begging for all this power and the games are worse than past generations, and graphically not much better than a past generation. I'm here looking at older pc games and most are better looking than the newer games

I knew from the start with the trailer that the Fanserivce won't be in that game anymore. Plus seeing how they focus on the past games where the digital version of the games don't get a cheaper price that because they mostly have the best costumes in them. Anyway Japan culture are slowly forcing Fanserivce content. I don't know if you noticed on TH-cam ads that there are more Japanese mobile games with Fanserivce more than ever. Indeed Japan is not the same anymore because of the western pressure on their culture which is wrong because no country should tell another country what to do at the end of the day unless that country is doing bad things to their citizens.

I think you have a bad habit of obsessing over framerate to the point you can't go five seconds without mentioning it. Yes it's good Monolithsoft will have alot of power to work with but I don't need to downplay the work they've already done to get excited about it. The fact that they've been able to work with what they had so well to make such amazing games is something that should always be celebrated. Who cares if it does'nt look perfect the game play is always fun and fluid and that's all I care about, I don't need Digital Foundry some stuck up graphic snobs to tell me if a game looks good I can decide that for myself.

Please specify the different generations of DLSS. NVIDIA has three generations currently with likely a fourth on the way. And this is first or second gen most likely.
It would not be the 1st generation of DLSS. It was terrible and mocked by the community on the whole. It wasn't until DLSS 2.0 that the technology was taken seriously.

Still think, it was a huge mistake not to consider the non portable hardware happening in the dock. USB-C allows this, as the external graphic cards of Apple computers show. Same GPU, but with much more RAM and processing channels and additional storage for high resolution textures. The ability to update the dock without needing to touch the mobile device and vice versa. Yes, the more expensive way and most likely probitive by that, but technically, that would have been very exciting.

I haven't playing nintendo switch for a while now I remember how blurry and pixelated xenoblade chronicles are and the fps is not stable even in 30 fps it so bad same as legend of zelda too fps drops i hope I can play it in stable condition since switch 2 is more powerful

It's mobile tech so it won't be close to Xbox Series X and the PS5 in terms of raw power, but it doesn't need to be. 12 gbs of ram, a 5nm or even a 8nm chip docked with DLSS will make it perform around or better than the PS4 Pro/Xbox Series S (Both consoles are close in TFLOPS). $400-$500 is the price range I'm expecting.

Not as much as native resolution because render at native 4K will be more taxing.. not even PS5 pro can get away without PSSR..

Unless you wanted to max all classes in 3, the only grinding game is 1 (2 depends on your luck tho).
Just playing the campaign with zero grinding will take u over 50 hrs
