@@SuiteNatured hi we are booked onto a celebrity Apex cruise on the Mediterranean. Quick question does celebrity offer a free transfer from the boat into a city centre or do you have to book onto an excursion? From experience from other cruise lines, for example, when visiting Porto, the cruise terminal is quite away from the town, so the cruise ship put on a free transfer into the town centre.. any help gratefully received

If the port is an industrial one that doesn't allow walking through or it's a long way to the port there will be a free shuttle. We had free shuttles on our Apex cruise at Valencia for example. If not they will often run a low cost shuttle to the local town. Hope this helps.
I just came off the Apex last week and the buffet is genuinely the best I've ever been to. I usually prefer being served at the main dining room but this buffet was just too amazing. The taste, variety and quality was all on point!
We were genuinley own away by the quality of the buffet Darren, and we can comfortable say we've never said that before on any cruise.

I returned from a Celebrity Apex cruise of the Eastern Caribbean a couple weeks ago and can report that Black Pudding was available at the breakfast buffett.
Phew! Can't have a cooked breakfast without Black Pudding
If you didn't like the the dinner you ordered in Tuscan, you could just ask them to bring you what your wife had, that you liked. In our tour of the galley, you find that the plates are already made up and your server can go get you a different dish quickly.
Thank you Charlie. To be fair the server did offer to swap it. It was one a very few time that we had a dish we didn't enjoy as the food was really good on Apex.

How would you compare Celebrity food vs Virgin Voyages?
Celebrity food is fantastic and is 2nd only to Virgin on all the cruise lines we’ve been on. So yes Virgin still edges it as all the dining is included and excellent whereas for the best of celebrity (Eden for example) you do have to pay more.

Thank you Gemgem, we did see a LOT of diary free/vegan desserts, they have a specific section of the buffet with them, and if you ask in the main dining rooms, they will either give you a menu or tell you what the days options are too.

something I always wonder about....can you get takeaways and go back to your room or to some other area on the ship to eat if you dont want to eat in the dining rooms?
You can definitely take anything you want back to the room Casey but we didn't see any evidence of take out boxes which we've seen on MSC & Virgin. We.didnt see anyone take anything like that back from the main dining rooms but saw it lots from the buffet, pizzeria and Cafe Al Bacio and we did that ourselves too.
Obviously you can get room service delivery but they charge a delivery fee for it.
Gave up after 2 minutes the double act was very annoying.
