Great tour, loved the Grills terrace when I last cruised on her. About the hot canapés, none served on QM2 in the Chart Room last summer. I was really looking forward to them after seeing your video. I asked but was told only crisps available as if they’d never served them.

The notice mentioned a range of decks where launderettes were available and this was followed by talking about floors. You mentioned the secret lift which I think serves decks 7 to 11 but you did not mention that it was forward or whether you were using the port or starboard one. It would be handy to know if one wanted to find it.

Don't believe in paying extra for the specialty restaurant food. Food at the main dining room and the buffet restaurant is good enough for me.

Loved loved the Frontier Dinner on the Queen E which was one of three specialty evenings carved from the buffet area. It was lovely. They cleared away half the tables and a drab lido area became an elegant evening. Well done Cunard.

I shrieked out "Look at the size of those" when I saw those Rivera prawns. Incroyable!

The choice of biscuits and crackers in the Verandah knocks Queens Grill into a cocked hat. The cheese is definitely no different.

This is nothing but a paid advertisement. Look for other cruise lines. The Ruby Princess is more of a fat Queen mother preparing for her funeral. I went on the same cruise and found exactly the opposite. The buffet is bad and the patrons are rude. The food service people love to line you up and make you wait to eat until THEY are ready. Cold, runny eggs, bruised fruit, and coffee added to last night's leftovers do not make an appealing meal. No place to sit. Intestinal viruses are rampant. Little service, no silverware, but lots of cheap cologne. The bartenders are even passive-aggressive because most people have already prepaid and pre-tipped. They make more when they don't serve you. The Michelangelo DR was the only decent place to eat and they only serve dinner. The captain blames everything on something else, and is not responsible for anything. Almost everybody in a naval uniform needs a shower and their cigarettes confiscated.

We were on the following cruise to you two. In the Commodore Club we also had spiced nuts which were beautiful as well as the crisps. The ship was lovely but the biggest failing was the lack of daytime places to sit and chill and have a coffee. Also the Lido Buffett did not have enough seating. However the service was impeccable and we loved the promenade deck to get our steps in. BTW the levels of vibration from the engines at the back of the ship was almost laughable, like sitting on a washing machine (without the naughty connotations).

Thank you for posting this video of your Alaska cruise and your review of it. We are from the UK and are on the Ruby Princess in May next year, 2025. Cruising from San Francisco for 10 days to Alaskan ports including Glacier Bay and Victoria Canada. We have cruised before in Europe and Caribbean. This our bucket list cruise and I hope we enjoy it as much as you two seemed to. Excursions are booked and we are so looking forward to it. Thank you again.

Portion sizes looked OK to me. At the end of a week, I would want to be able to fit into my trousers. The food looks 8/10. Royal Navy cooks, delivering a 'mess dinner', would top this standard. (Recruiting now. Inside-cabins only.) Interesting video. I liked the breeziness of it.

We were on the Queen Victoria cruise immediately after yours (V430) and the Christmas vibe got dialled up more and more during the week. There were no mince pies, but there were seven Christmas themed cocktails (my wife loved the Tipsy Reindeer) and the Christmas decorations increased throughout the journey, with a very impressive display of gingerbread houses (including a castle) in the Queen's Room. There was also Christmas music in most venues basically any time there wasn't a specific show on, and the theatre team did a Christmas themed show with the Queen Victoria band towards the end of the cruise. I think if you'd gone a week later you'd have had a very different experience! Paul and Carol were on the same cruise as us, so keep an eye on their coverage because I am sure they'll cover it when their blogs come out!

Queen Victoria & Queen Mary2 are my favourite Cunard ships, especially for Grills suites. The funny little raised area in the upper Grills Terrace on QV is simply to allow the stunning pavilion-style ceiling in the Grills Lounge on the deck beneath it. I can confirm that the outdoor Grills eating area is a lovely location on a sunny day in port but can be quite windy if at sea even on a hot day. I think you would both enjoy the Grills experience if you ever have the chance to try it. Also, specifically on Queen Victoria, the Club Restaurant is also a charming location with excellent service and a great choice if you are cruising during the winter so wouldn’t be using the outside Grills terraces (although you forgo the Grills lounge too, which is a treat). Such a shame about Queen Anne, after 2 voyages on her, I have made up my mind and I really dislike her so have cancelled my future cruises on her. In 2024, I cruised over half a dozen times on Cunard Grills, next year I have just 1 cruise booked. I like to cruise round trip from Southampton but will not cruise on QA again, so my options with Cunard have significantly reduced.

We went on last December for a 12 night cruise again no mince pies or mulled wine but we did have some Christmas cocktails. This year we went to Seefeld in Austria with its snow capped mountains lots of mulled wine and sausages and apple strudel

Lovely tour! I've not cruised on Queen Victoria yet, but had an absolute ball on Queen Elizabeth through the Panama Canal. This tour has brought back such lovely memories! One small observation is that it looks like Queen Victoria has got some lovely furniture in the Winter Garden - I wonder if that's a glimpse into what's coming on QE soon...!!

You two are absolutely the top tier of this cruise video market ! 👍 So informative and entertaining ! I’m a loyal Cunard fan , and have no desire to travel on any other cruise line. I’ve travelled on QM2 , Queen Elizabeth and Queen Victoria over the years and on January 9th I will be on the Queen Anne’s Transatlantic Maiden Voyage! I’ve always wanted to sail on a Cunard Transatlantic Maiden Voyage since I was a child. So I booked over a year ago, so not to miss out ! Since then I viewed all the photos and videos of Queen Anne since her debut. Must say , that I’m not a fan of Anne’s interiors. Much too modern and contemporary. A fellow passenger on a recent Queen Victoria cruise told me that Anne’s interior design struck her as “ COLD and UNWELCOMING “ I agree with both of you that the other three Queens interiors are more inviting and charming. I love the traditional “ Golden Age “ of sea travel vibes of the wood panelling, etched glass and polished metals of the Art Deco look! Don’t get me wrong, I’m still going on the Maiden Voyage, but it’s going to be a little less of an experience than it could otherwise have been!😢🤷‍♂️ ! Mark , don’t be embarrassed about “ Dropping the Rope “ to explore Queen Grill Class rooms! I always travel “ Britannia class to be careful with my money , but always check out and film the Queen Grill areas ! 😌I go every early in the morning or late late at night and have never been approached by crew members or told to leave !🤞🥴 Will think of you two and “ raise a glass “ to you while on my January voyage! Let’s hope that Queen Anne’s Maiden Voyage goes better than the Titanic’s !!😮🥴😂

We went on 3 Christmas Markets cruises and 1 Christmas/New Year cruise with P&O between 2005-2012. They were serving minced pies and mulled wine on the promenade deck during the Southampton sail away on each cruise. I would guess that this is no longer the case with P&O and other cruise lines due to cost cutting. The Christmas Markets cruises were particularly magical in those days with visits to ports such as Oslo, Gothenburg, Copenhagen or Aarhus, Hamburg, Amsterdam or Rotterdam and Zeebrugge.

I'm with you Linzi. For a festive cruise, I would expect some traditional Christmas food (mince pies, stöllen, yule log, gingerbread etc) and drinks. I'd want sherry and mulled wine by the gallon tbh 😂 And it would be so easy to do cranberry based cocktails, or spicy ones with ginger in. On somewhere like Cunard id expect there to be subtle xmas music (eg. Piped piano music but playing xmassy songs), christmas quiz, Michael buble-style crooner etc. Seems odd that they seemed to do nothing other than decorate. A missed opportunity for them, i think.

The mini router would share/repeat the cruise line WiFi - so router logs into cruise WiFi as a single device, then multiple devices could connect to the mini router. This would be ‘stealing’ internet from the ship hence a cyber crime… 22:29
