Without using a box, Dreadnautilus is much more difficult than Plantera and Golem because its minions shoot nearly invisible projectiles that do twice as much damage than what it is supposed to. This makes the box method the only strategy that makes sense at the intended level of progression.
I absolutely love the optimistic tone and light music while talking about blood moons, a murderous monster plant, and a homicidal killing machine made of rocks
coral torches don't increase luck when placed outside of water, and having regular torches nearby also doesn't increase torch luck so probably use bone torches above water and coral torches underwater for the best torch luck in the ocean
According to the Terraria wiki, coral torches only decrease your luck when they're outside _both_ water _and_ the ocean biome. If a coral torch is in either or both, it should boost your luck. That being said, I haven't tested it myself, so I can't confirm this!
@@joseph-uu8xi Honestly, unless you're super dedicated to finishing the game as a summoner, you should stop. 1.4 simply made summoner extremely useless in master mode. It only gets usable as soon as it obtains either stardust dragon or the terraprisma. Which is near the endgame, imo it makes it almost nonsense to even keep going. I finished the game as summoner already but that's because I simply love the class, but tbh, I was more sad than happy for finishing it, since summoner got so clapped by the update.
Hello! @@joechristo2 I wouldn't recommend it. Abigail is slow and has short aggro range so it will take forever. You can't take advantage of Summon Tag either so it's not like fighting Queen Slime.

1. This really shivered my umbilical cord 2. This is really mouth watering 3. The video is straight forward and the time is 4:20 this is a 8.5/10 Kripkes
It worked! Literally being summoner is very hard.. no defense and technically almost every summon is kind of stupid, I recommend doing this with spider armor and a spider summon staff , also try to get defense in every accessory. The sonar potion will help avoiding those freaking blood dragons (I don’t remember the name). Also try to have the summoner on hand to always spawn At least an spider in that MF. With blood moon a lot of enemies appear and the spiders can get distracted. Regen potions and iron skin potion. Also some food that gives you the best buff. Try to whip it when it’s making circles around you. That will help.
The fact that I have to use a cheese strat makes me kinda angry, but for my first summoner play through I think it’s fair. The fact that you have around 25 defense at the beginning of hard mode is crazy for me because I used to play melee and ranger. Thanks for the help tho!

Rather than using stormbow, I opted for spider staff and armor, hiting it with a whip as he charged at me, buffed with life regen and ironskin potions, worked like a charm. Thank you original builder and thank you for making the video.
Pro tip: do the fight underground, by doing the fight in the cavern layer the other blood moon enemies won’t spawn (except for the fishing enemies otherwise you wouldn’t be able to fish up the dreadnautilus)
for anyone watching this, in order to boost this method you can also add a couch or chair, since sitting in one increases your life regen by (according to the wiki) 1.5x. equipping a charm of myths, a band of regeneration and a philosopher's stone will also help a good amount. additionally, equipping a mana cloak/star cloak will grant you some extra damage.

Playing a summoner only Master mode world and with spider armor on PC, and with some basic buffs, you can pull this off easy with no problems. Works even if you just use the spider staff. Great guide and easy to follow, thanks!
Not sure if the enemy's been buffed since this was put out, but on Expert he's destroying me, even when using regeneration, iron skin, and endurance potions too. That spray he does goes through walls and hurts like hell. I'm using spider armor and got 7 pirate summons doing their best and i'm using a godly Nautilus bow with jester arrows and he destroys me pretty quickly.
@@Zuzucorn I was finally able to beat it, but only after defeating The Twins and using that summon weapon along with the Megashark and Ichor bullets. You really gotta keep your distance and choose when to attack. In a certain phase of his attacks, he'll charge up and any shots you fire are reflected back at you so you have to stop shooting and use that time to heal. And of course use all the potions and best foods available to boost stats. Now I'm farming Plantera to get the Pigmy Staff.
You can add a cross necklace, squire helm, valkyrie chest plate and a slime statue. Also a chair. You will regen instantly and take about 2 damage from bosses apart from eol and ml
I managed to fight without the box with no hit. You just fly around it when it moves normally. The Sheild of Chtulu's movement ability makes you temporarily invincible. Just dash away from projectiles and into it's super fast dashes. It's like a weird Queen Bee fight. This strat was a pot easier and definitely less stressfu. Getting the stormbow might be harder for newer players but mimics aren't super tough.

Unfortunately dreadnautilus got an update and its projectiles are no longer blocked by tiles. This is still a good method and I managed to kill it thanks to the regen - the box prevented knockback so I wasn't thrown out of the honey and into a pile of blood moon enemies. I would recommend bringing a potion of inviisbility or else the clowns that spawn are going to bomb you into oblivion. p.s. I got the sanguine staff first try! thanks for the help :)
Thanks for the vid dude. I’ve been going mad in early hard mode trying to beat the dreadnaughtilus for the sanguine staff. This has been quite useful :D
This staff and Blade staff is a summoner's best friend. Their aggro range and ability to pass through blocks is amazing. They are plain better than other staffs acquired later in the game in almost all situations. There's also the Terraprisma. But by the time you get it you're essentially done with the game anyway so it's not as impactful.
@@Zuzucorn Thanks for correcting me, the description is pretty confusing. I wish we have a way to show the current luck. Does the bonus from bone torch stack with the coral torch?
Problem is, I’ve got quite a few other commitments as well, which makes my upload schedule a little irregular. I’d say probably every Wednesday/Thursday for the summoner video, and Saturday/Sunday for a guide video
In master mode , it’s quite hard , as a summoner you’ll have low defense , 20 base defense from spider armor and Little bit more from the accessories (Warding..../A accessory which gives you def (Ankh shield)) But you still take huge damage , about 130 every time the Dreadnautilius dashes into you , if he does that often , then you might die , And if you get hit by multiple projectile then that’s pretty much it , it’s a race to who kills who faster
Zuzu, thanks for your video,it really helped me.However, you can edit this box a little:along with honey, heart lantern and campfire you can place Bastet Statue and equip charm of myths to sustain your health.I obtained 2 Sanguine Staffs in expert mode like that. Thanks again for your video!

Before I had like a few hours but then I discovered your channel and I immediately wanted to come back and play terraria more. In my opinion, you are my favorite terraria youtuber and you deserve more subs. Also just a question, do you have an upload schedule? I just really want to know when a video is coming out
Thank you for the kind words! I’m really sorry! I don’t have a set upload schedule because I’m quite busy with other commitments, but I would say Wednesdays and Friday/Saturday
Thank you so much! I used 2 bloody tears to summon the blood moon in my terraria world, but when I fought the dreadnautilus, I lost both times... I am really thankful that you have made this video, and I have watched many other videos by you, so I subscribed today! ^^
I’m super late but I just want a blood moon I had two bloody tears and died both times but then beat it once and it didn’t drop and now I’m just sitting in the box waiting and waiting for a blood moon
@@erick8633 something that I did to speed up that process was: If you have a clock, wait until it is about 30 seconds away from night time. Then, turn of autosaving. Save your game 30 seconds away from night time, then if there is not a blood moon that night, alt-f4. Repeat this process until you get a blood moon.
@@hoitem6500 the old arkhalis trick. (Probably spelt it wrong) I’m on ps5 but I will try it since there is a way to do it. Still, thanks for responding to a comment from 9 months ago. I actually already beat all the mech bosses with the blade staff and plantera so yeah.
Zuzucorn: *Has a video on how to get the Sanguine Staff*
Me on every segment of the video: WRITE THAT DOWN WRITE THAT DOWN!!!
I love youtuber like you
You even mentioned others for a technique. I admire your honesty.
Keep up the good work, god bless 🙏
Playing a summoner only Master mode world and with spider armor on PC, and with some basic buffs, you can pull this off easy with no problems. Works even if you just use the spider staff. Great guide and easy to follow, thanks!
have u killed dreadnautilus by using this strategy on master by playing a summoner?
MattT 017 Yes! I am on a master difficulty world using only summoning weapons(whips, minion staffs, etc), and it was surprisingly easy to do!
you should also grapple yourself to the ground (honey pool) to prevent knockback and thus increase life regen
im playing on master mode why did i also put in the effort to place garden gnomes and luck potions
I gonna use this on my next Summoner playthrough, thanks for the tips.
this video just taught me a couple hundread things.
when he was just listing things like the pearls and candles i was just shocked
This video was certainly HIGH-ly useful to me, nice video length btw.
oh my god, thanks. I quit my master mode all-summon run a few months ago, this video just saved my run. thanks!
Definetly my favorite mini boss in the game
thanks for the guide, now im part of the corn family
Not sure if the enemy's been buffed since this was put out, but on Expert he's destroying me, even when using regeneration, iron skin, and endurance potions too. That spray he does goes through walls and hurts like hell. I'm using spider armor and got 7 pirate summons doing their best and i'm using a godly Nautilus bow with jester arrows and he destroys me pretty quickly.
Yeah it got changed in the latest patch. But the concession the devs made was that it is now easier to avoid if you fight it head on.
@@Zuzucorn Yeah i got to rethink my strategy now.
@@Zuzucorn that's why i died almost instantly
@@Zuzucorn I was finally able to beat it, but only after defeating The Twins and using that summon weapon along with the Megashark and Ichor bullets.
You really gotta keep your distance and choose when to attack. In a certain phase of his attacks, he'll charge up and any shots you fire are reflected back at you so you have to stop shooting and use that time to heal.
And of course use all the potions and best foods available to boost stats.
Now I'm farming Plantera to get the Pigmy Staff.
The dreadnaughtilous has such an insanely low drop rate, on top of being so hard to summon, that it's just not worth it to me.
@Cameron Jones they made exactly that
@Cameron Jones boy have i got news for you
not now :)
He deserved the cheese, and the sharp cheddar kind of cheese
just got the dreadnautilus to spawn then realised the cheese got patched in 1.4.4 :/
same just happened to me :')
Thank you so much for the video zuzu I am doing my first summoner play through and needed to know how to get this staff
I have fought the queen bee it seem faster in the surface than underground is my conspiracy true?
They added that in 1.4, the bee queen enrages when out of the underground jungle.
@@Zuzucorn thanks that's why i lose because I tried fighting her in the surface. I will just clear out the underground and build an arena
@@Zuzucorn I also use grapple hooks when I don't have the sheild
worked really well to me, thank you
Thank you so much zuzu! Still in pre hm in an expert mode world, but it will come it really handy once I’m in hm!
I had a blood moon without having this prepared and scrambled around my unorganized chests to find what i was looking for nad when i had everything the blood moon was over
update: Another blood moon occured and i still didn't catch it
update 2: Got the eye staff since last, fished up the beast and destroyed it with ease and got the staff THANK YOU
Unfortunately dreadnautilus got an update and its projectiles are no longer blocked by tiles.
What's ur equipment
Love your channel, very clear and well explained
Thanks so much!
UPDATE!
Sanguine staff has a 50% drop chance now, on PC. On other platforms its still 20%
EPIC
Nice video :3
This really usefull
Thanks for the vid dude. I’ve been going mad in early hard mode trying to beat the dreadnaughtilus for the sanguine staff. This has been quite useful :D
This is the most calamity mode thing terraria has ever made in terms of boss design
YOOOOOO THIS METHOD IS INSANE. It's super consistent and always works as long as your deadalus stormbow uses holy arrows
thanks so much, this helped so much but one note to make it easier was to build a big wall around so ya wont get attacked
Zuzucorn: The Dreadnautilus is a new boss added in 1.4
Anyone who looked at the boss list on the wiki: Well yes, but actually no
Yeah. It’s not even a mini boss, but lots of people think so, so I said it hahaha
@@Zuzucorn i mean it does have more hp then EoC so i think its atleast worth the title of mini boss
The best channel ever
This staff and Blade staff is a summoner's best friend. Their aggro range and ability to pass through blocks is amazing. They are plain better than other staffs acquired later in the game in almost all situations.
There's also the Terraprisma. But by the time you get it you're essentially done with the game anyway so it's not as impactful.
Coral torches reduce torch luck when not placed in water
The wiki says it reduces when it is not placed in water and not in the ocean biome. I’m assuming it’s both conditions before it reduces luck.
@@Zuzucorn Thanks for correcting me, the description is pretty confusing. I wish we have a way to show the current luck.
Does the bonus from bone torch stack with the coral torch?
Great video! Great creator! Do you think you could give us a schedule for the expert summoner guide series so we know when to expect videos?
Problem is, I’ve got quite a few other commitments as well, which makes my upload schedule a little irregular. I’d say probably every Wednesday/Thursday for the summoner video, and Saturday/Sunday for a guide video
Ok 👌 thanks, no problem. Hope you’re doing well. I’m just anticipating to see how an expert summoner will beat the wall of Flesh
In master mode , it’s quite hard , as a summoner you’ll have low defense , 20 base defense from spider armor and Little bit more from the accessories
(Warding..../A accessory which gives you def (Ankh shield))
But you still take huge damage , about 130 every time the Dreadnautilius dashes into you , if he does that often , then you might die ,
And if you get hit by multiple projectile then that’s pretty much it , it’s a race to who kills who faster
You can read the pinned comment. You'll need ironskin and endurance potions, more life regen, and maybe a bast statue too.
Help me ;-;
dude. thank you very much a simple great guide
Thank you! I'm finally get it!
my favorite terraria channel
A gnome attacked me a few days ago even though i wasn't in a tree. Plus, my world doesn't have any of those giant trees. I was testing out the new grave digger shovel and digging a flat are next to my base. While in inventory i saw one running towards me then turned into a garden gnome before i can shoot it. I think that it spawned because of the dirt walls and the floating patch of dirt i missed.
They spawn underground, but are more common within the trees.
1:48 What accessory do you use to see what item you are going to fish?
Sonar potion.
@@Zuzucorn thank you
