We were told by a psychiatrist that DID isn't a real diagnosis, and flat refused to call us by our alter names. it did a lot of lasting damage to us, but thank goodness for our alter Michael, as he came out and told the psychiatrist that he had Single Personality Disorder.
We.... have to hide from most people that we are DID as people are so skeptical and think you make it up "for attention" or as an excuse for bad behavior,.
Thank you for the word authenticity. WE want to be authentic.
