- In this video, we’ll be taking a look at EVERY title released for the ill-fated Virtual Boy console in North America! Because of this system’s early discontinuation, the Virtual Boy library saw only 14 titles published in the US, which makes it an excellent target for collectors looking to put together a complete set. We’ve all heard rumors of the Virtual Boy’s headache-inducing visuals, but is it possible the system has some hidden gems as well? Let’s check it out!

You mean "I own every US game on the Virtual Boy" tbh some of the Japanese exclusive games are fun but but really are only for the most committed of collectors.
That's one of my biggest achievements. I own all 14 us games and some Japanese ones.
yeah several of those Japanese exclusives sell for easily over $1000 on Ebay! The affordable ones are VTetris (~$30), Virtual Fishing (~$40), Space Squash (~$100), and Insmouse no Yakata (~$100-$200). After those, they get ridiculously expensive!

In this case the original poster was making a joke of the fact that the VirtualBoy was never released in Europe. You seemed to have missed the joke, giving a very blatant no, explaining why, when the one making the joke had to have known the information you have given already to make the joke.

People didn’t get head akes when playing.. they just wanted more. So they qwote and qwote pretended that I gave them head akes and complained to Nintendo because they didn’t like the red and black colour scheme.. and it failed success. And soon got pulled of the market shelf’s.

Congrats on finishing your US set. I'm 3 shy of the full US set. I still need Jack Bros, 3D- Tetris, and Waterworld. Let's not get into which Japanese ones I'm missing. I may need to sell an organ for those.
BTW: There's a 2 player version of Mario's Tennis for VB available now as well as a link cable.
I have no idea where you're based out of, but figured I'd let you know: there's a loose cartridge copy of Waterworld for sale at the Book-Off in my local mall, the Del Amo Fashion Center in Torrance, California, U.S. It's $80, which... I have no idea if that's a good price or not. But it's there, in the glass case! I've seen it every time I've checked out that store for the last, like, 3 years, too, so it doesn't seem to be going anywhere. ;)

Having a virtual boy myself, it's awesome to get a look at all the games from the perspective of someone I look up to as a collector. Thank you for giving such positive review on these games, this greatly influences my choices on which ones I want to keep an eye out for!

Virtual Boy is still on my list of portables to get one of these days. I had one in the 90s & Galactic Pinball was awesome! Also had Red Alarm which was probably the most played by my friends. My Virtual Boy right eye gave out soon after my purchase of Mario Clash, so I got to enjoy it for a bit. Did not know about Jack Brothers going to be very happy to play it in the future at some point. In my opinion the Galactic Pinball was the best Pinball game up to that point! I really enjoyed my Virtual Boy back in the day it was a fun plug and play device for me! No TV needed!
I personally love the system, I think it's the coolest looking video game system I've ever owned and I'm glad I picked one up this year, so far I've got mario tennis, Mario clash, teleroboxer and Warioland, great video man!

Used to have one. Played the hell out of it too! Tennis and boxing were my favorite. I found out quick that playing in a dark room helped your eyes to transition after your session. Still surprised I have 20/16 Vision today. Lol

exactly! He only used the emulator to get game footage for this video. Lol you try getting a camera to zoom into the eyepiece of an actual Virtual Boy and somehow get a clear image of half of the screen! Also, playing games on the emulator can never give you the full experience that playing an actual Virtual Boy does. I own one with all the US games except Jack Bros, and it is incredible!

If you are a PC user on the side there is a virtual boy emulator that has settings such as replace the red with other less headache colors, VR headset compatibility, and full tracking when using headset
It could use Nintendo Labo VR.

I actually like your view. Most people are quite raging about the Virtual Boy but in fact, it was a console ahead of its time and was cut through technical limitations as well as a low budget in production.
But I‘m excited to try this one as I am slowly gathering the parts to get my own VB.

i remember my cousin had the box for this, you could sit on the chair and essentially look down into the machine and your in the game. was really dope back then but as mentioned it didn’t last very long

I just recently took my VirtualBoy down from the attic. I got it 20something years ago from my Dad who brought it back from a trip to the US. I had absolutely no idea what it was back then, as it was never released in Europe :-D hope it still works.

12 launched in the USA, plus Tetris and the japanese version of Virtual League Baseball.
@11:18 There was Tetris Sphere for the N64. It might have been inspired by 3D Tetris. It plays in much the same way as 3D Tetris. Only as the name suggests the pieces are falling onto a sphere.
My drummer is hoping to get a Virtual Boy for his birthday, so this video was good for deciding which games to get him.
How did you film the gameplay? Did you make a custom capture card?

I still find it fascinating at the time I was able to by v-tetris in stores here but I had to look online years later to get 3d tetris.

In the early death throws of this system I managed to snag the top games from Blockbuster in a discount bin for five bucks a piece, including Jack Bros. Unfortunately I didn't hold on to them for more than a few years and sold the entire lot together for about 300 bucks
It's refreshing to see a Puerto Rican baseball team featured on a Baseball game even if this was released in 95'. I'm from the island and it makes me happy that game developers at times bring Puerto Rico into video games and pop culture.
How funny, Problem Solverz(which was also criticized for giving people eye strain/'bleeding') has multiple episodes featuring a game system with a headset display and a controller that looks like the NES' Power Glove.

I got the entire north american library for it and all the translated japanese games in the form of repros as well as the super elusive Hyper Fighting game which is just Street Fighter. I also have a Flashboy + and preordered another flash cart that's in the works. I'm just missing a homemade link cable and another Virtual Boy to be able to play Hyper Fighting's VS mode.

i owned a virtual boy, i bought one with a discount from a import shop around the time when the system was discontinued in the usa.
I thought it was a fun system , i didnt mind about the portability factor much and had some fun with most titles i played on the system.
Shame my vb broke down after a while.
The sad thing is some of these games look really good! Nintendo should really bring some of these games back for the Switch. Games like:

Teleroboxer
Mario Clash
Jack Bros.
Virtual Boy Wario Land
Vertical Force
Innsmouth no Yakata
SD Gundam Dimension War
Space Squash
To my knowledge, Nintendo Power _did_ confirm that Lark from PilotWings 64 is in fact Nester, but Nester's Funky Bowling is still the only game to feature Nester's name in the title - it's *his* Funky Bowling.
I have the Virtual boy with the box (Box is in bad condition though), also the Ac adapter set with box (Great condition box), also have the Wario game in box complete (Good condition), and of course Mario Tennis, but by itself. Got all that all for about $90-$120 (great deal, and got it at that price last year or two!), can't remember but it was in that range. I love it and I don't get headaches from playing it! I really want the whole collection, and even the Japan exclusives,........but too much money.
Jarrett IceEarthGuard yeah it is easy to get all the US games if you're willing to fork over $300+ for Jack Bros. however, those Japanese games are insanely expensive. SD Gundam Dimension Wars sells for over $1000 online (however, there are Homebrew fan-made English translated game cards floating around for $70-100 each. I own one of these and it's really well done). Insmouse no Yakata sells around $100-300 online. VTetris and Virtual Fishing are pretty cheap, so they're easy to find. Space Squash averages around $100. Then the last three, Virtual Bowling, Space Invaders Collection and Virtual Lab are so freaking rare that you can rarely find these online... And when you do find them, they easily sell for way over $1000!! Personally, I only own VTetris and Virtual Fishing. I'm considering buying Space Squash and Insmousse, but haven't got around to it yet... I own all the US games except Jack Bros.
This gives me eyestrain just watching game footage so i cant even imagine how much it hurts to play
