    In terms of budget and overall value, even now the SE 2020 is still a great iPhone. Should have another 2-3 years of software support and the biggest downside would be battery. But that isn't anything a good battery case can't solve.

    Apple should update this phone with a new cpu and double battery. Any extremely versatile phone, excellent at taking quick photos with one hand, Apple Pay with Touch ID is also very intuitive.

    It's a great work phone, since you can get them in great condition and battery health on the used market for as low as $80, with software and security support for many more years yet. I wouldn't want it as my main driver, though.

    The only reason I bought this nugget was bc my iPhone XS went on bootloop and the cheapest phone available was this, I would recommend this only if you can’t afford anything more expensive, I mean it performs well but if you care about Face ID, stereo sound, dual cameras, and a wider screen better stay away of this option

    Just got one. Still have my 5s, and would still use it with satisfaction if practical, but it's just old in terms of carrier support. Then I had a UMX phone with Ass Ruance Wire Less, which was really slow, incapable and semi-dysfunctional ("GPS signal lost" is it's favorite thing to say being it says it more than giving directions) - but, it came free with the program I was in. I switched the program out to Internet, so it was time for a "new" phone.
    The SE2 is perfect for my needs. The price now refurbished/refreshed is crazy for what you get. Seems there's two big negative for people. The battery is one. I am so used to my old bad battery the 5s has, then the UMX phone battery that was never good, this SE2's battery life seems pretty reasonable. Yes, I have to recharge more than once a day if I use it a lot, but I don't normally use it a lot. In any case if I'm using it a ton, chances are good there's power to charge from the vehicle or from an outlet somewhere. My trick is to always have it plugged in if possible, even while using it. Only time I run out of battery with cell phones is when I wasn't able to have a game plan, where, guess what? So what? Last place I ever want to be typically, is on the phone. See, some of us come from a time when you left your house office or school, the only phones you could typically use were pay phones. I still relish NOT being on the phone. It's something about peace of mind and living in the moment inside the space you're taking up....
    The other negative people have is all related to it's not like new iPhones - which I don't see as a problem. Cell phones are a tool. If they do what I need them to do, and do it well such I'm not distracted by it's design and or limitations, then that's a win to me. Far as I'm concerned, this phone rocks. It's smaller = Win. It's zippy fast = Win. The screen looks great and is plenty bright = Win. The Camera is actually not bad at all = Win. To say, it's a phone, I never ever asked for anyone to build cameras into phones, let alone cameras with bragging rights. If I really really want to take great pictures... I'll bring my camera bag for heaven's sake.
    Seems Apple will be supporting this for surely long enough for me to get my money's worth out of this quality device = more Wins!

    @peterlast-z7x ปีที่แล้ว +3

    The SE 2nd Gen is the best iPhone you can get for $100 (per a Walmart deal if anyone is interested), capable of running the latest iOS, and with a camera pretty identical to the iPhone 11, the only difference being that the iPhone 11 has the telephoto lens that allows for better zooming and thus allow for clearer cropped images - but at the end of the day, who the heck is zooming when taking pics? No one zooms. And yes, the iPhone 11 and the other premium iPhones have Night Mode, but again, most people including myself rarely use Night Mode, most people just point and shoot and expect the phone to take a pic in 1 second and have it do all the background processing in the background instantly. Otherwise, the photo & video quality during the day is 99% the same. Don't believe me? Just look at the many youtube camera comparison vids. Literally can't tell the difference other than a slightly wider field of view.
    Yes, the SE 2 & iPhone 11, according to Apple will support iOS 17 on a limited basis, whatever that means. But it is clear that by next year, when iOS 18 releases, both SE 2 & iPhone 11 won't be supported because both are using the same A12 chip. But let's be realistic, a new iPhone is gonna have at max, 3 years of heavy usage till the battery life requires a change. Within the next 3 years, 95% of apps should still be compatible with the SE 2, so losing future iOS updates for 3 years won't be much of a problem. So many iOS updates are just tiny little changes they make for the sake of changing, they hardly ever make any significant changes these days, and that's because of the nature of diminishing returns.
    And the ONLY real flaw I see, is the ancient iPhone design of the SE. I agree, it's outdated and unfortunately, according to rumors, the island design is not coming to future SE models any time soon. The good thing is that iPhone 11 and 12 prices are dropping. Boost Mobil for example is having a sale of a brand new iPhone 12 and a 1 month pre-paid commitment for $250. By next year around this time, the iPhone 11 and 12 should be on constant sale for less than $200 via 3rd party vendor online, so just keep an eye if you want to score on good iPhone deals with modern designs.
    At these cheap price points, I'm not buying these phones for the actual phone, but for the camera quality (they take better quality pics than the newest $400 GoPros and equally good videos), and I also buy them for the music player that it is. They are really good deals. I see these phones as a camera, an ipod and then as a phone.

    It’s purely better or not is up to the individual. I really love white bezel iPhone 8 and sadly they got rid of white bezel iPhone for se 2/3. I rather have this style over X and above. Ever since X released in 2017 I really never like the design. Many people were disappointed and some are hyped because they just got bored with the design I suppose. Not me or majority of my friends does. Only until apple go back to this sort of design, I’ll hold my iPhone until it won’t work anymore after that I’ll go with the android. I’m no whiner but plainly just state my individual preference

    • @maxonite
      @maxonite ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree white bezel gold home button iPhone 8 was the best design they ever had. I wish the SE 2 had white bezels too. Idk why people are so obsessed with bezelless design, its not like you notice them after even just minutes of using the device. Plus Touch ID is so much better than Face ID. Change and innovation just for the sake of it isn’t worth much. As far as im concerned i prefer my screen with no ugly camera cutouts but Touch ID at the bottom.

    I use this as my secondary phone ( the other one is a 12 Pro) Both are 2020 phones and are at practically the same performance level.
    This SE is based on the IPhone 8 ( from 2017) the phone i used as my secondary phone before. There I nothing Trash about this phone, it’s small convenient and for the price on the used market outstanding. Because of the smaller size the the screen is extremely sharp and bright enough to use in dutch sunshine. The camera is more then adequate I use it to take quick pictures of documents I need to share while I’m on te move. The fact I’m able to do this place it well over budget android phones. The small battery is not a problem, I use a cheap Power bank a combination that gives me several days of use. This phone does everything my 12 pro does ( use that mainly for navigating) so I can only conclude your expectation is to high.You would probably be dissatisfied with any but the lates and greatest iPhone that incidentally uses the exact same IOS version.
