  • Here is the latest sporting clays video. It is the same course we shot on Wednesday's summer league, except this time, I am shooting Mark's Browning O/U. He loaned it to me because he said I was shooting well enough that I should get a real sporting gun. All my guns are hunting guns. I haven't shot an O/U since I was a kid. I had a cheap Marocinni (sp?) for a couple years, but couldn't hit ANYTHING wiht it, so I traded it for an 870.
In these Shotkam videos, you can see the barrel at the top of the screen. This gun has a ported barrel, so I had to mount the shotkam way back behind the ported section. It is a sweet gun that fits me well, and doesn't rattle and clank when you move it around. That's different from what I am used to. The balance is completely different too. The semi is much more weight forward.
I have been planning on going up to Cole Gun in Harpswell, Maine and getting a fitting and buying a gun, so it was good to shoot an O/U to get some experience. I may end up getting a 20 ga. as I will surely use it for hunting too.
I ended up shooting 41/50 with the Browning. Not bad for the first time I ever picked it up, but remember, I shot the same course a few days ago.

I usually shoot Modified (fixed on my 12 ga) or IC/Mod (fixed on my 20 ga. Side by side), but my friend who loaned me this gun to shoot for a few weeks set me up with those chokes for a specific course (very close range), and we just left them in.
