'ok that's enough' said everything that needed to be said about how tough that looked...well done on the finish and well done for filming it along the way too!
I was running it also, however it became a craw and i was timed out at check point 3 with my little brother chris. Goodness , compared with UTMB and other races i have completed, it had some brutal ascents. Well done Sarah. More training for me though!!
ah sorry to hear that mark, there's always next year! but it has definitely made me feel a lot better about utmb which i always used to consider as one of the toughest races out there but it really isn't is it!
Great video! Thank you! Gorgeous trails. Really hope to get over there and explore the area some day. Thanks for taking us along and for the breakdown and tips at the end.
Wonderful vid. Well done Sarah. Good to see Ben filming you this time! I hope to do do a 50k one day but probably not that one! I have a half at Brecon Beacons next month and looks like it will be much much more runnable than UTS. Huge congrats again! Love the phrase, "Complete not Compete"!
Congratulations Sarah massive achievement - after following ur adventure Iv decided that kinda terrain is not for me - or at least not for my knees !! hope ur recovering well xx
So good to see the start line to this packed full of eager runners in these Covid times. Something we have enjoyed until recent times in NZ. Fingers crossed we get Delta under control and vaccine rates up so we can get back into events here in NZ.
@@SarahPlace BTW, sorry I should have started that all off by saying 'congrats' as that was epic! Nice work Sarah. P.S. Loving Ben's kit (I think I have 3 shirts and about 5 caps!). Excellent kit. Look forward to following more of your adventures. Congrats again!
Well done Sarah. It sounds just like me. Loving the scenery but hating the downhill scary bits. Slippery stones, mud,… But you can be so proud for getting to that finish line. 🥰 🇨🇭
Well done Sarah! I'm running the Ben Nevis Ultra this weekend off the back of some poor training weeks, this was just the positive reassurance I needed. Thank you. I hope I can muscle through as well you did.
ooh that sounds fun! hope you get some nice weather and good views off the top! don't worry about the lack of training, it matters a lot less for things like this, it's 90% mental anyway. best of luck and enjoy!!
Admiration and inspiration in equal measure, maybe next year!? Can I also give a nod to the Injinji socks and Altra (Olympus) shoes combo, foot heaven.
It's sad you don't do content anymore. I discovered you once you had already stopped. I've watched this before, i just went on this after doing your core workout to send you this message.
I found your video about a sub 20 5k yesterday and was looking into the UTS today and this popped up, timely coincidence. Congratulations on your finish!
Great video Sarah, as a flat road Londoner I took to the Tenerife hills after watching yours and Ben’s videos, never got the Strava climbing badge before 😁 hoping some of the hills training helps for London tomorrow!
Great video. I wish to do a 50 km, but when you said that this one was not well marked, I took this one off my list. Fortunately I live in France. Congratulations!!!
Well done Sarah! We went across to support my father in law in the 100 and as we were driving past the start we saw Ben walking along the road and so we guessed you must have been running it! Really well done. We're sort of tempted to enter in the future but those scrambles looked a bit grim :-)
Cool video. I never would've thought the UK would have territory like that. Not much of a trail runner, but I do a lot of hiking here in Utah and so I know the type of terrain you were going through. Well done and enjoyed the video!
Nice video Sarah! I was watching some of the videos about the race these days and it looks pretty amazing. Tough and muddy sections like here in Sweden but with amazing views included into the "package" and some alpine scenes on the tops! I'm seriously considering this race! I will subscribe to your channel as well - great content! Well done racing and great job filming the race! Kudos! :)
I attempted the 165 km. My first DNF at 61 miles. It was a humbling experience. I sustained an injury at around mile 40 and tried to persevere but there was zero leeway on that course and I eventually 'retired' crushed. I'm still limping around feeling sorry for myself, whilst spending far too long analysing what went wrong. Congratulations on your finish Sarah. The 100km version next year perhaps?!
I’m really considering doing this next year as a finish off to the years racing, following The Wall in June. Didn’t get into the LL50. Really well done, it’s a beast just doing the 50. The 100 peeps are different breed.
Really useful, thank you. Just signed up for 2023. Not sure it's a good idea as I'm training for the road marathon and just figured this will be as fit as I'll be this year 😂 Worth a try even though it looks brutal!
Those race Vlogs are always really cool, and motivating to watch - although this time I didn't really thought "hey, I want to run this" ;-) Wow, what a course!
Honestly Sarah, as a fellow trail runner these videos are brilliant 👏 you're a natural at them too so keep them up its really useful! Hopefully see you and Ben at the London marathon 👍
I did the uts 50k recce weekend with Mike back in July in beautiful weather, that last big climb is brutal even in good weather, well done on getting it done! Hope to take that or the 100k on next year!
sarah, you’re the “glider!” the mountains are the glyderau (said glidder-eye). absolutely incredible effort, my favourite place in the world hosting a welsh UTMB? i’d better get training!!
Well done. I ran it too and agree it was a tough race. The navigation is always tough on top of the Glyders when the visibility is poor. It all looks the same boulder field with no defined path. Well done, great race 👍
Amazing video! I'm going to be signing up for next year's 50 when they release tickets this weekend. It's definitely a race that scares me, but your video got me very excited too 😊🙏 I better start training... 🤦♂️
Amazing work Sarah! Just did my first mountain half yesterday. I totally agree with the Altra Lone Peak! Is there any better shoe out there for the mountains? Zero drop and that wide toe box just works for me. Interested to know if anyone's found a better shoe? Well done again!
Great to see this latest video. That looked tough. Congratulations on successfully completing the course. And without falling over once, if I heard correctly. I was thinking at one point, how I would have come back battered and bruised from something like this 😂.
Well done! And agreed 100% with the course markings comments, could have benefited from many more, especially along some of the summits/ridges and up the third climb. But a great course and day out nonetheless :)
Look who’s back! 😁
I love how chill Sarah's videos are compared to Ben's 🤣 Well done
I went from "I'd love to try this" to "theres no way I'm doing this" in about 10 minutes. Massive congrats on completing it!
haha yeah i won't be doing it again 😂
@@SarahPlace Oh no! I just told my wife I really want to try it, and was hoping I'd meet you there one day! 😂
'ok that's enough' said everything that needed to be said about how tough that looked...well done on the finish and well done for filming it along the way too!
Amazing views! What a beautiful race! Thanks for the virtual trip to Wales!! 🏃🏼🏃♀️
I can’t be the only one who finds Sarah’s smile do damn infectious? 😍
Brutal .. brutal... brutal 😫
Congratulations for completing it Sarah 🤩
Yeeeeeeyyyy!!! Another Sarah’s video!!!! Love your content! Well done and keep them coming!
Great video. I like the chill, not yelling at the camera, way you shared your experience. Thank you
Well done! So glad to see this race finally happened!
So glad to see a new video! Lovely views but those scrambles looked tough. Great job Sarah!
That was VERY tough, well done Sarah! 💪🏼
Twas nice seeing you on the course.
thanks and well done you!! hope you are recovering nicely!
Superb running & well done on a toughie...
Was a great race! Enjoyed this video a lot re-living the day! Thanks
That’s next level Sarah- super impressed!! Well done for getting around!
UR AWESOME MADAME. CONGRATS. I LIKE WATCHING ALSO BEN'S VLOG UR BOTH AMAZING
An epic performance again Sarah - the mist as you were up on the summits was quite mythical and eerie. Well done again!
That looks absolutely incredible! Congrats on finishing such a challenging course in less than ideal training!!
Well done Sarah, that was amazing. Glad to see you posting videos again! :)
Brilliant video, thanks Sarah. Taking on UTS as my first Ultra this year 😅
Well done Sarah. Not an easy route. I know the route well as I live here. Top effort.
Very well done, thanks for sharing your experience 😅
Salomon “pulse” belt is great for poles when not using them. You don’t even know they’re there when tucked away.
I love your videos you have such a pleasant nature.
Enjoyed, watching old videos has helped encourage me to run. Been running every day for the last 15 day.
great to hear! keep up the good work!
Well done Sarah , that's a beautiful route 👍
Great inspirational video Sarah. So good to see you back on TH-cam x
Great video! Thank you! Gorgeous trails. Really hope to get over there and explore the area some day. Thanks for taking us along and for the breakdown and tips at the end.
well done finishing that race, the scrambling looked scary
A great looking course, but what a wild one!
Congratulations on finishing it Sarah!

ah that will be lovely, the brecon beacons are amazing! and yes should be a bit more runnable too! enjoy!
Congratulations Sarah massive achievement - after following ur adventure Iv decided that kinda terrain is not for me - or at least not for my knees !! hope ur recovering well xx
I love those pain au chocolat but had no idea they counted as running fuel. This is the best news ever! 😁👍🏻🏃♂️
anything can be running fuel! the sky is the limit!
So good to see the start line to this packed full of eager runners in these Covid times. Something we have enjoyed until recent times in NZ. Fingers crossed we get Delta under control and vaccine rates up so we can get back into events here in NZ.
yeah it has been nice to have some normality back, hoping things go back that way for you in nz soon!
Thanks Sarah. Excellent vid and well done on completing what looks like a really tough course 👍
So glad I found your channel. I just started preparing for a 10k. Been running for 9 months.
good job in a tough race, some of those rocky paths were a challenge to the feet, you shared good footage too
I did the UTS 50mile a few years back and loved it so much, we had a little different weather mind you! Great one Sarah
Well done Sarah. It sounds just like me. Loving the scenery but hating the downhill scary bits. Slippery stones, mud,… But you can be so proud for getting to that finish line. 🥰 🇨🇭

Great video, Sarah - thanks for sharing your experience on this amazing run (and your kit list)!
Thank you Sarah -
Thanks for posting this. I’m doing the UTS 50k this year and it was good to get a little insight :)
Lovely! 50km run and still beautiful
Merry Christmas Sarah and Ben, hoping you make some new videos in the new year Sarah. All the best 👍
Looks like an ultra through Mordor, that's bonkers.
Love your videos Sarah! You've totally got me into trail running. Keep um coming!!
Merry Christmas to you and your family
I absolutely love your channel .
Amazing. Congratulations! You make it look so easy.
I take it I'll be seeing you (and John James!) on the start line of the 100 next June?
You are proper awesome Sarah, amazing!
looked like a wild race, great effort on the finishing it!

Not watched the video yet but I’m doing a half marathon next year up the ranger path and down llanberis path into the quarry. Bit nervous
Great run in the clouds!
wow that course!! Great job !!

Brilliant video! I’ve now found the Billy Yang of the UK.
You’ve inspired me to give that race a go. Is it part of the Dragon Back routes?
It looks absolutely brutal, massive kudos for getting it done
That looks absolutely brutal. Well done on finishing it. Not a chance in hell I’d do it.
Congrats on the run. Just makes me want to get out and explore.
Those race Vlogs are always really cool, and motivating to watch - although this time I didn't really thought "hey, I want to run this" ;-)
Wow, what a course!
Well done, Sarah! Amazing video. Thanks for sharing. (I’m loving that you survived on pain au chocolate! 😂)
WAY better than UTMB!!! Such a great race, well done Sarah!
Honestly Sarah, as a fellow trail runner these videos are brilliant 👏 you're a natural at them too so keep them up its really useful! Hopefully see you and Ben at the London marathon 👍
aw thanks simon, yes see you in london!
i just see ben's video he mentioned The Arc of Attrition, hope the training's going well for that. im hoping there's going to be a live feed this year
Well done I have done the Snowdon marathon on two occasions which I thought was tough but nothing compared to this ❤️❤️
I did the uts 50k recce weekend with Mike back in July in beautiful weather, that last big climb is brutal even in good weather, well done on getting it done! Hope to take that or the 100k on next year!

Oh my word Sarah! That looked absolutely brutal! Well done for finishing!! I’ll cross that one off my bucket list! 😂
Uau! amazing views and great experience for sure!
Congrats, that was amazing. Inspiring LetZ Go Sarah! 🤙💪 Those climbs and that surroundings wow
Well done. I ran it too and agree it was a tough race. The navigation is always tough on top of the Glyders when the visibility is poor. It all looks the same boulder field with no defined path. Well done, great race 👍
yes agreed! and well done you! hope you are recovering well!

Love the channel.

I better start training... 🤦♂️
Yay! New video! Great job!
