Brilliant stuff yet again, Richard. Did you know the “five more minutes” rule has now been enshrined in law? 😁 I am still buzzing from an evening out on my local patch - fox, barn owl, two badgers and a hare, all within 100m and just using the car as a hide. Now, where’s that lottery ticket? All the best.
Lol, I’m liking that:-) 😉👍! Wow, that’s awesome, sometimes the stars align and it all comes together! That’s the great thing about wildlife photography:-) Vehicles are awesome hides, better than any pop up I’ve ever brought. Best of luck with that ticket, all the best🙏👍
Just re-watched this wonderful video , Foxes such wonderful creatures I really must get back to work on my garden Fox project . Photographing the at night with continuous led lighting , challenging but great fun.
Nice one Richard, it was a hard one with the Foxes this year as my normal place was out of bounds due to covid! But next year I will be back to my favoured spot! Fingers crossed with your project, sounds really good. Keep in touch, Richard 😀👍
Lovely Footage Richard, it was amazing the fox knew there was something not right as it was looking at you all the time, but that is there natural instinct to survive. Well done you.
Hi there Steven, certainly did... such acute senses, the hide was only just placed in the field so stuck out rather well, would of left it for a while so they could get use to it but the cattle would have trashed it, lol.. Thanks for watching, regards Richard
Hi Richard, thanks very much, they certainly are I just wished I'd had my old Fox earth for this year, it's such a great place to watch and photograph them! Maybe next year. Still lovely to get some views of this new one, more work needed. Richard
Good to see that you finally got a little footage at the end.Very difficult to get the shots you want all the time.Lovely and relaxing, and interesting as always.Thanks.Alison.
Thanks Alison, You always wish you can get better stuff but thats the joy of it, maybe next time. If you get them every time it wouldn't be as exciting.. Thanks Richard
Another beautiful video.... mom or dad certainly knew you were there didn’t they mid video.... I loved the way he was looking across to you not sure at all..... 🦊
Hi Gill, thanks very much yes they certainly did, lol.. So aware that things were not normal, thankfully due to the hide and the wind being in my favour they didn't actually see me. I think I'll be spending some more time with this family in hope we get to know each other a bit better!
Cheers Jake, wanted a better aspect and to be closer for some better video but maybe next time!🤞🏻! Still loved just being there! How’s your hide coming along?
Thanks Adrian, was a hard one as it was an unknown site but glad to have seen them and got a couple shots! Lovely, did you see much? Great place, can’t wait to visit again soon🤞🏻👍
Cheers Greg, those Urban Foxes are so tame! unlike ours, hard work especially my new group! Fingers crossed I get some better shots and more close encounters.. All the best, R
Another great video Richard. Such stunning creatures. I have been chasing one round for a few weeks without any luck and then today when I wasn't looking for one guess what turned up... lol.
Fantastic Richard! Spending time with fox's is absolutely magical! I'm going to try and get some video footage next time i visit the vixen I've been photographing for the last 2 weeks!
Hi Si, thanks very much mate. It really is, my old Fox Den had so much more going on but this year it’s very quiet and this was a new site. Wished I had more footage but that’s Wildlife photography for you! Awesome, fingers crossed you get some results, looking forward to seeing them. Cheers🙏👍
You're welcome Richard! I'm still not convinced the Vixen I'm spending time with has had cubs. I may be in the wrong place. Plenty of other spots nearby where I may have a better chance of cubs though. As you say that's wildlife photography though! The joy of going out and discovering new places and things is all part of it!
I must get out my hide, having been shut in for so long though might leave it another week. Recommend a lapel mike inside the jacket collar, having just done a video at a very windy location myself. Best wishes Mark
Hi Mark. Yes, I need that and it’s on my list! Just need to save a little more, I did have one but it’s broken so fingers crossed I’ll have it sorted next time. All the best & thanks for commenting 👍
A pleasure to watch although I have yet to see a fox in the wild, hopefully one day. I liked how you panned the lense with the cub and the adults sat there watching you. Quality time.... love foxes 🦊 absolutely detest fox hunters.
Jon barrass thanks, really appreciate the feedback 🙏👍. You’ll get the chance soon I’m sure, I know there wasn’t any editing in that it really was watching me! Quite a shock, lol... I with you on that! Loved all your kestrel images recently, sweet work. All the best 👍
Yet again outstanding!! Actually capture the art of studying and being patient to capture the subject you went out for !! Brilliant! Ya I laughed when you say you wait another 5 mins after you intend to go ! Just incase you miss your subjects! I totally do the same ! It’s funny but it does work ! Can all change in an instant!! Totally get that ! Anyway fantastic post !! Look forward to your next post as always! Take care my friend!!👍👍
Thanks👍. Lol, I’m glad it got a smile and a chuckle, it does sometimes work and I’m stuck with it for now 😂😂. As you know Wildlife photography is challenging at times and it’s such a buzz when you get the shot or share that intimate moment with your subject! Love it:-) all the best, great comment as always, thanks🙏👍

Hi Andy, many thanks for commenting. It's hard going but it will be worth it in the end. I hope to have some more success next time, more patience and effort needed to get some better shots. All the best R
RICHARD BIRCHETT your most welcome, and yeh they look like amazing animals to photograph hopefully one day I am lucky enough to get that opportunity. However, I do only have a 55-200mm lens!! Thank you for taking the time to talk to me and give me the advice on Instagram as well very much appreciated!!😊
@@elliebolland6811 Great to have you subscribe to my channel, and your welcome anytime. Keep in touch, and like I said it's not always the equipment and large lenses that get great shots:-) R
RICHARD BIRCHETT your welcome love your channel and your work on Instagram and yes of course I’ll keep in touch and yeh I know I was talking to someone else and they said the same that the lens doesn’t matter!!
Craig Maisfield cheers Craig, more to come on these I hope! Only the 2nd visit so was pushing it but looking forward to doing more with this group;-) all the best 👍
@@RichardBirchett nice one mate. Hope you have some luck with them. I was lucky to Photograph 3 cubs last year but not spent any time with them this year. I feed them every night outside my house. Also get the Badger odd nights..
Hi Ruben, thanks very much. The main top, trousers and coat are all British Military Clothing which probably could be purchased through any army surplus stores. The hood and gloves are from Amazon, the links to those are on my last video Vlog in the description under additional equipment. Hope this helps, and thanks again. R
Hi could you please suggest a good entry level camera/lens for capturing wildlife please? I will be doing this for years to come so money isn’t really an option. I have tried to look at reviews etc online and TH-cam but it’s just info overload I’m afraid. Many thanks in advance from Scotland.
Morning Ross, sure thing and sorry I’ve only just now replied but quite busy running workshops at home. Nice to see the old videos are still getting a watch. Be in touch. R 👍
Hello buddy - just watched that from my own hide (wearing camo!) in the wood - been watching a badger set for a week or so but no joy yet🤞 great video and what a beautiful moment when the male turns and stares right down your lens! Shame he turned up when he did because the little cub looked like he was fancying an exploration of his own!!! Just another 5 minutes?? Curse of the wildlife photographer and ruination of many a good meal!🤣🤣
Hi Shaun, thats awesome, and nice one on the Camo, lol! It's hard isn't it, putting all those hours in with little joy, but when you get rewarded with a picture/video or just the experience of seeing them at play it's totally worth it. He had me for sure, didn't quite know what I was but wasn't comfortable to get back to the earth with me there, vey wise. Just a few more mins, lol... Best of luck with the Badgers, I am sure you will get some success:-) all the best Richard
Oooh, lovely! Really enjoyed this little encounter with the foxes :) Were you able to leave the hide in place so they could get used to it a bit? I can imagine they would have been a bit wary of the new object in their environemnt at first. I know there are foxes on the golf courses here but I've not (yet) located a den or encountered them in decent light when I've had the camera...
Hi Geoff, Thanks very much! Unfortunately I wasn't able to due to the Sheep now being back in the field, bit of a shame really but still it was good to see them. Golf courses are awesome places for Wildlife, thinking of doing a Vlog on my local one as i've got permission. I hope you get lucky. all the best R
Fair one, big window behind me with stacks of light coming in makes my silhouette stick out from the front. Plus if i were to go mobile out of the hide with standard dress I would stand out, my Drab clothing is also comfy and didn’t cost me anything. Thanks.
