Not a religion thing. Some change their name back to their maden name after divorce some don't. Also many want to keep the same last name as their kids also if you are known my one last name you might not change it if you marry or divorce.

In Latin America and Europe, Woman can add the husband's last name (If they want to) and the kids receive both mom and dad last names. Imagine how awful: you as a mom get a way harder job as a parent and your kid only receives your husband's name. Ridiculous.

Despite being legally required to have both surnames it’s EXTREMELY rare to go by both on a day go day basis, so people only go by the first one (which is usually the dads). I’m from latin america and I don’t even know the maternal last name of most of my close friends because it’s rarely if ever used.

After the Nian break up almost every member of the cast took Ian side Paul was the only who was still besties with her. At Candices wedding she was sitting way back far away from the couple she was suppose to be bridesmaid (Kayla was) Candice now travels alone it looks like there is no one from the tvd who still sticks to her side in private life
