VERDICT: Honestly, it's kind of shocking just how bad Spiral Cloud Passage is. The one thing it has going for it is that the different attacks come out at the same speed regardless of whether enemies block or deflect them, which sometimes allows you to chain a big block combo and do decent Posture damage. The problem is that it's just as likely (and against certain enemies - especially bosses - straight-up more likely than not) that they will simply tank through one of the many hits and interrupt you, because each attack in the sequence does less “armor” damage than a regular sword attack. Attacks that get interrupted by regular sword attacks, such Genichiro drawing his bow to fire an arrow, do not get interrupted even by consecutive Spiral Cloud Passage attacks. So against most of the game's bosses, this Combat Art is less than not useful, it's actually actively making the fight harder/more dangerous if you try to use it. The only enemies it's really useful against are regular enemies, which don't really need Combat Arts to defeat anyway. Plus it costs way too many Spirit Emblems to use. This thing is such a letdown and I wish it were better.
@@davidnewhart2533 “best combat art in the game” woah there, slow down buddy. When there’s High Monk, Mortal Draw, and Dragon Flash that each deal insane damage/posture damage, Spiral Cloud Passage comes no where near as good.
@@eventsnapgaming combine the Spiral cloud passage with flaming your sword (after flame vent) or with the bestowal ninjutsu, and you get one of the most DPS attack of the entire game.
@@charleydupre9835 doesn't change the fact that most stronger enemies can just poise through many of the hits and interrupt you in the middle of it. The enemies that Spiral Cloud Passage is most effective against are generally enemies that aren't strong enough to justify using it against in the first place

Spiral Cloud Passage. It's the best combat art in the game. You just suck at using it.
@@davidnewhart2533 absolutely insane opinion to have when Mortal Draw exists but congrats on having fun with it
