      It took a lot of “no’s” for me to find a company that I felt comfortable in so know it’s all a part of the process and a no is just redirecting you to where you’re meant to be as cheesy as that sounds :))

    Pleasee do more of this! It’s really nice to watch. I just graduated as a Legal Assistant and I have an interview soon. I’m really nervous because even though I did study Legal Assistant I’m still not confident about legal documents or knowing all legal terminology/terms 😭😪 When You become a legal assistant did they make you memorize all the legal terms?

    • @lifewithicie
      @lifewithicie  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Angelique!👋 Thank you so much!😊 I totally understand, it can be overwhelming at first. For me, my law firm did not make me memorize any legal term per se as part of my job training, but I will say that I became more familiar with legal terms the more I settled into my role. Best of luck and you got this!❤️

    Could you become a legal assistant/ paralegal with an undergraduate degree in criminal justice? Thanks for the video it helps a lot I want to be a lawyer/ paralegal. I've had a lot of no’s but I'm optimistic and being either profession.

    • @suzie_602

      Where I’m from to become a legal assistant some people don’t even need a degree, just a high school diploma or a certificate from a local college.

    • @lifewithicie
      @lifewithicie  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, I find with this specific role, experience helps the most, but it depends on the law firm too I’ve seen!

    • @lifewithicie
      @lifewithicie  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hello! I’ve found that a college degree is not always required depending on the law firm. I think law firms look for experience mostly and how you would fit well with company. With the said, I think having the college degree can help and open doors. I definitely think criminal justice or sociology degree is a plus because it has some elements found in the legal field. But again each law firm varies. I think the best thing to do is try it out and keep applying until you get that yes-I was told “no” many times until I found a law firm that I felt was a good fit for me so it’s not an uncommon thing. Keep going and you got this!😊👏

If you’re looking for something virtual, you can filter your preferences for virtual jobs and they should provide you with a list of jobs that you can apply for. Best of luck!

    • @lifewithicie
      @lifewithicie  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hello!, first I want say congrats on finishing!:) Everyone's experience is different especially where you live, but I would say for the most part don't be afraid to make mistakes, ask a lot of questions from mentors/ people who have been in the legal field, and don't be too hard on yourself if the legal industry is overwhelming at first. For me, I found getting my foot in the door by gaining hands on experience (i.e internship or like me apply for a legal assistant position) was the best way for me to learn and gauge if this career path was right for me. I am also planning to film a 6 month update as a legal assistant so more to come on this, best of luck!:))

    Hi Alyssa,
    I am inspired with your video and I'll watch the rest of it about your journey as a legal assistant. Just want to ask if I'm qualified to apply for this kind of job? I have a 4 years degree course and I'm a secretary in a private law firm for a year and 4 months. Is that enough?

    • @lifewithicie
      @lifewithicie  ปีที่แล้ว

      I definitely think you should give it a try! I would try talking to your supervisor maybe and ask about opportunities for growth at your current firm if you’re happy there and see if they could promote you internally possibly as a legal assistant ☺️

    • @lifewithicie
      @lifewithicie  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends, but I would say for the most part yes. I did have my BA in Political Science and admin experience prior to becoming a legal assistant, but I am not sure how much that played a role in me getting this position
