yes, i think you need the approval of the governor of the state, who represents the President of India. All other CM's have resigned before they were arrested, but not Kajrewal, apparently the rules of the game don't apply to him.

I am all for punishing criminals. If that were the case the first person who will be locked up would be Modi… for the dozen scams he did, PM cares, etc. etc. But they need to follow the procedure to do it. The Liqour policy was approved by the Govenor of Delhi. If the policy was a jumla why was it approved? Secondly Manish Sissodia was arrested one year back. The ED has found no evidence till date to link him to the money laundering trail. If there is no evidence found till date, what evidence is ED having against Kejriwal that requires his arrest? Are there ED cases filed everytime the import duty is being reduced from 25% to 5% to benefit the manufacturer? Why is there a hue and cry if excise is reduced from 223% on a base price of Rs.166 ?

Taking election funds through bond is not a scam.
Scam/Crime can be of few types which need to investigated:
1) Was the money donated to parties reflected in balance sheet of the company so that it can be ascertained it was white money and not black money which was laundered.
In this cases, scam would be on the company who donated.
2) Was the money donated part of bribe for getting some Government work?
It should be verified whether the company got any undue advantage after ging donation.
Crime would be on both parties.
3) Whether the donation done after some ED/CBI/ State police pressure?
Then it would be a crime on the part of political party.
In other scenarios, getting funds through bond is fine.

Please correct, Madam Jayalalithaa was acquitted of all the charges by High Court of Karnataka.
If kujliwal is innocent, why was he running away from cooperating with ED ? If he was innocent he could have approached the supreme Court! Doesn't he trust the supreme Court?
Process is the punishment. ED conviction rate is very low. They just make the cases and keep ppl in jail. No one is proven guilty.
Supreme Court can't give bail on money laundering easily as those laws are very strict. He knew he will be arrested bcoz BJP didn't want him free. Manish shisodia went to cooperate only. He went with the honesty that nothing will come in the way.
Try to understand, I am not favoring him, but the way BJP is working we may soon be a democracy like Russia. Anyone fighting election against one party, will be silenced.

Unfortunately labeling events as unprecedented gives the impression that the Enforcement Directorate is doing something illegal. Events are unprecedented because in the past people considered themselves above the law and got away with it. Also, regarding the timing of the arrest, if you are involved in wrongdoing, you can be arrested anytime unless the statute of limitations prevents it.
If I have absolute power in my hands even a cat, Rabbit or any other harmless thing can be implicated as an antinational. Why no raids on ruling party leaders ? No raids on Ambanis even after that extravagant spending /burning of money on recent event wherein thousands of Crores was spent,no raids on Adanis and no efforts to bring back looters.

Who is responsible for the current situation? As per his conscience, if he had NOT done anything wrong, then, he should have appeared before ED in Nov itself. Who had asked him to skip all the 9 summons. Looks like, he wanted this to happen, to get sympathy votes.
Politics without corruption is impossible in India. Some are corrupt at the roots invisible and some are corrupt at the branch visible. Kejriwal is arrested for the cortisone at the branch. The root corrupt the most invisible politicians beginning with Modiji and his aides should be arrested.
There is no concrete reason mentioned in FIR. It is just "general" suspect for arrest. It is obviously a delay tactic because elections are close. 56 inch balloon always gets inflated because ED will not do anything like that to BJP's ministers.

It is true that arrest of Delhi CM Kejriwal is politically motivated. However, this event seems to be a blessing in disguise for people of India and to the Constitution of India. Actually the ensuing revelation that would occur because of making public of the Electoral Bonds would have been Silenced automatically by the natural silence of political parties on the issue.
But arrest of Kejriwal which event would have otherwise benefitted BJP is coming back at BJP as a boomerang. AAP is accusing BJP of extortion and quid pro quo by citing 55 crore Electoral Bonds from Arabindo pharma to BJP. If Kejriwal was not arrested AAP, just like other parties, would not have opened its mouth on Electoral Bonds episodes at all.
