I watched an interview with Hopsin. The interviewer asked him if NF asked him not to cuss. Hopsin said something like, “no, I know his style and his thing with not cussing.” I can respect that. Not all would adjust like that voluntarily.
It was actually harder for Hopsin to rhyme this way because he wasn't using words that he was so accustomed to so it was a challenge to still be effective in getting a point across, like NF does.
This song is sooooo deep on so many level these 2 together aren't even fair 2 of my favorite artists by far and this was exactly what I thought it would be. Great reaction man your killing it with these reactions
Cool part about the first verse about using his clothes to personify pride/joy etc.. bc then fun note on the line about “breathe & leave our state apparel”.. apparel.. another word for clothing.. to escape our flawed emotional states.. to become happy/joyful again.. also a call back line to the Search “im looking for the antidote to crack the code..” “arent we all just looking for the syrum to help us breathe & leave our state apparel”... kinda cool, eh... then the scarecrow line.. 5:30 sounds awfully similar to Mansion.. building mental walls for bad, but also his safe room to keep his heart safe.... or those we should cherish. This songs crazy bc it loops back to the start of NF, , but this time, Nate’s not drowning.. he’s showing his footsteps forwards, even when we might fall.. like i mentioned million times.. greenlights. Always ahead, climbing.. against the current, but still.. forwards and up.. burdens cant leave us.. which made me really happy when i first saw him holding them bc i didnt like the theories of him dismissing the idea of letting his mental struggles away like its so simple in Leave Me Alone.. bc we both know Its not. We learn to cope and find our own unique path made for us with our “balloons”.. me or the fear talking? I think hes learned that burdens dont need to be embodied by Fear. Its just Perception, ironically. & i think he learned a ton of healthy methods of perceiving his burdens as something he has to share a house with... but also how to recognize and control them when they come lurking about. “You think youre in charge?”.. he shows a ton of methods i actually teach AND practice.. such as lucid splitting.. something he always did when personifying emotions as separate entities. Issue was, he did it the unhealthy way. But the fact i know he used to, makes me believe he was taught how to rewire this really tough method of therapy bc he already had the mental imagery wired to.. so rather than nf vs fear.. i think he was taught to instead split his emotions into helpful ones like logic or irrational. I use logic and emotional. The funny part is he uses that Bane line very similar to what i do on a daily basis... bc i also personify my bad flaws like anxiety, ocd, mania, etc as feral dogs that ive mentally trained myself to really believe in the logic.. thus able to leash them. The idea is, if you have many imposing diff symptoms.. if you can mentally leash them.. but experience a panic attack.. it doesnt turn into a war. Bc mentally, for me, i see it as ONE feral dog breaking a leash and needing to put back in place.. not 20 issues, a domino effect would cause. I really believe hes been taught this form of “controversial” therapy bc everything he talks about fits it like a glove. I first noticed when i found out “Nate” was made due to a practice he did while in the hospital for his breakdown. He split himself into older, wiser vs Kiddo Nate.. bc even if he didnt think himself as wise.. he cant deny he isnt wiser than his own child self.. its a mindhack. Something he cant dismiss.. it is a practice reserved for very few people.. esp those who refuse meds. As for me, i had to train myself based off school books. Not to skip Hopsin but i just relate to Nate a ton more in terms of therapy and mental health.. so connecting the dots.. i dont want to call this song his final run back from beginning to now, but as a teacher, this time.. but its also very undeniable how far hes come from Mansion. #nfrealmusic 🧚🏻♀️ also, apologies for being absent before.. ive been having my own little issues catching my feral dogs lately. I just watched this, again, with my son... I missed part of what you said when I watched earlier. Out of all the reactions we have watched, we don't recall anyone mentioning the fact that his 'cage' is not here. Also idk y it just struck me, but noticing that they’re traveling through the mountains 🏔 ६ snow ❄️, just made me think about how isolated, dark ६ cold your personality is whenever you’re ‘Lost’ or trapped inside of your own mind. I guess it makes more sense to me now than it did the first time I watched it, as I have been struggling within my own mind with my BPD ६ many other mental issues. But yeah I have been told that I have become more cold ६ isolated to the point that I don’t even leave my bedroom nowadays. But what sucks even more than all of that is, I am fully aware of the fact that Ive became this isolated ६ cold person, but I cannot control it (most of the time that is) 😔

How i took the video metaphor is that the mountain is the music industry and NF since his newer in the industry tried to climb to the top with his burdens and found Hopsin which is older in the industry and the burdens of the industry buried him and NF found it almost dead (hence the beginning of the hopsin verse). And at the end, they reach the peak of their carrier in the industry and found that other which were there before them were buried with their burdens because staying on the top, that's what makes you. Also, a recommendation of new artist with meaning in his verses is Lowkey, a Britain rapper.

Hopsin had just gone through a tough experience which included issues with "friends" that worked with him Plus his girlfriend had gotten so angry at him that she got him thrown out and banned from Australia, so he could no longer see his son. I don't know much about the details. Anyhow, he was a mess and this collab was perfect to help him get back into the music and his career. #NF 😎
