  • This scene is from the BBC television show doctor who. The episodes that some of the scenes are from are the deadly assassin, the daemons and the time monster. The purpose of the video is to show one of the possible reasons to why the masters regenerations run out to make him become a husk of himself.

l do not own doctor who so give all credit to the BBC and the creators of doctor who.

I always thought the decayed form was meant to be Roger Delgado's body who has run almost out of regeneration energy. At most The Master aged in a body he liked for too long on a bad planet because he was afraid of who came next.

There are many theories about Delgado's regeneration, l just assumed that he tried to regenerate on his last life but as a result, left him decayed and in need for more regenerations.

@@MrJ.Smith1234 Big Finish already confirmed that Decayed Master is a separate incarnation, just Google the audio “The Two Masters”. However, I much prefer him being a decayed version of Delgado’s Master, and I don’t like how BF is making canon even more convoluted than it already was.

I always thought so aswell, l think the reason was after Delgado's death, they could keep the option open to bring the master back bye making him decayed and unrecognisable so that the next writer could regenerate the master into someone else.

This video is awesome in billions of ways, and it was a shame Roger died in a motorcar accident at the time, his planned final appearance as the Drs Time Lord arch enemy the Master was been planned for the season 11 finale of Dr Who and also the Master in that story was to exit Dr Who by been killed off in an enormous cosmic explosion and also the true relationship between the 2 arch-enemies was to revealed the Dr and the Master were in fact either brothers or 2 different aspects of the same person. I do seriously wonder if the big final showdown, had taken place if Delgado had not died in the horrific motorcar accident would the Master as a villain have ever come back to Dr Who or would he have been permanently left dead and cremated. I suppose if no producer after, Barry Letts, had wanted the Master back as a returning villain like he was in the Delgado years and was again in the Ainley years if the Master had never been brought back to Dr Who after the death of Roger Delgado I am inclined to think that it is possible brand new Time Lord villains might well have been created as replacements for the Master as new returning enemies.

Thank you for your compliment but yes it could have been the end of the master after Delgado's death but thankfully not. The master is the Moriarty to the doctors Sherlock and always will be, even if they should give longer gaps between incarnations but even then all the masters have there own take on the character.

Don't know if anyone read Legacy Of The Daleks. Takes place years after The Dalek Invasion Of Earth, and the Master is trying to get the Daleks revived I believe. It's been a long time since I read the book. Anyway, Susan is Kidnapped and held Prisoner by the Master, and the Eight Doctor almost rescues her after finding about about this, and the Master takes her into her TARDIS,
The Master realizes that Susan is the Doctor's Granddaughter after she said something to him, and they Materialize on a planet that was used in The Curse Of Fatal Death(LOL!), and Susan grabs the Master's TCE and forces him outside along with a device that he's holding. The Master tries to stop Susan, but she uses the TCE on the Master while he's holding the Device and then leaves him.
Chancellor Goth arrives in his TARDIS, and see what's left of the Master, pulls out his Staser and is ready to end the Master's life, but the Master offer's him a Deal that would benefit both of them. Goth would become President of Gallifrey while the Master get's to live again. This leads to The Deadly Assassin.

Nice edit, here is some fun facts i've heard: in "meet missy", missy mentioned that this master attempted to regenerate but ended up badly, however in the comic doorway to hell tell it diffrently that the 12th doctor encountered the master, he did regenerate but ended up in a cliffhanger. By the way you did a good job on this edit.

Nice. Uh, one tiny suggestion. When you have the two Tardises pass each, it might work better if you cut the Doctor's out of the shot, by going in tighter on the Master's 'computer' one and prolonging the shot. That way, people are less likely to think about the stories between 'The Time Monster' and 'Frontier in Space'... Dear Roger's last. Thank you again for your video. 🙂

    Interesting theory!
I thought his decaying was due to the fact that it was a body-hijack (like Nyssa's father, movie Master, Missy) and that a human body couldn't contain Timelord temporal engery causing it to decay over time?
