BIGGEST Sand Dune YET! Fishing, Wheel lifts and 4wd action

This week we leave Menindee behind the head back to Tolarno via the sand dunes and hospitality of Wyndham Station. There are more sand dunes, more lakes, more challenges and more fun as everyone gets into the spirit and enjoys some real off roading! The team fix tyres, recover vehicles on dunes, see more of the flooded outback and still don't catch a fish as they continue to explore the Darling Barka River.

The Iveco daily would claw its way up that sand no problem
I took my Daily down to Robe and it got up the steepest sandy dune ok, even though I d just put 300litres of fuel and 300 litres of water in it. So at 5950kg it still made it up. The technique was low low in 1st and sit back and relax for the slow but steady climb. In that setup it’s 101:1 ratio so about 2kph achieved. Not so much propelling itself up but more excavating the sand in front of the tyres and pushing around and behind the tyres. The gladiator tyres had great spade like side walls which help a lot with the tyres down to 15psi.
