Nice kit. Suggestions since you requested. Since it's an urban kit, I'd ditch the saw and any survival items related to fishing, etc. I suspect over redundancy and unneeded items (for urban) in the survival kit box. Would definitely add more food, a beenie cap, maybe even ditch a portion of the fire starting stuff as you have a lot of redundancy there. Don't recall seeing a more legit multitool or SAK, would add one, and definitely a pair of work gloves and some cordage, unless there's enough in the survival kit box. Oh, you seem very tied to the ability to recharge things. I'd prefer to see battery standardization to a common size and switch out the power bank for a solar rechargable one. The small crow bar is a smart addition to an urban kit.
One thing I'd suggest is a Stanley saw. Don't remember the exact name but, it uses reciprocating saw and jig saw blades. Much more versatile than any other saw on the market. And really light.
Not too sure of other countries but i would recommend an old fashion draw string bag or use darker colors and if needed then add reflectors. In urban areas their exist gangs and the colors you choose just might be their own or a rival. Gangs will be around in SHTF situation because they already live and act like the S
I suggest some wheeze wipes that I saw on Canadian Prepper. They are tablets of "cloth" that you dip in water to wipe yourself Nd you can use them for wiping your face and hands
Good point but 20 miles in one go would be way too much to travel -- especially uneven terrain. 10-15 miles tops for the average hiking person, once you go over that things get dicey for your feet especially if your body isn't used to rucking. I've been wearing it to work for the past few weeks with no issue though (usually attached to my Rush 72). At less than 20 lbs it is 10% of my body weight, I admit that the strap pulls on the shoulder after a bit but this strap can switch shoulders so it can be balanced out. :)
Guess us tough little Marines and our 20+ lb rucks and 20 mile hike at Camp San Onofre and Pendleton was just taking a hike for us. My reason for my little red wagon and can pull bigger weight, less fatigue. Otherwise, my MYOg distributed carry system across BDU-like pockets and trouser pockets (some 32) on shoulders, chest, waist, front/side arms, front/side/back legs. Carry on body all small and lightweight items, halved weight per leg step (energy savings) less fatigue. Most weight on legs, versus total weight on shoulders and spine. Use ruck only for carrying big items (sleeping bag, tarp, cook kit), barely 8-10 # max in a winter carry, 4-5 # spring/summer carry.
SHTF and Mother Nature disaster won't care whether you can do or not do mileage or carry - or not. When you gotta do what you gotta do, then doing is a must, not a decision.
The kit is good but you have a problem with all those things that are loaded by USB when there is no power. I suggest you to get them with batteries. Greets from Germany.
From a former homeless person. You are carrying a lot of heavy worthless junk. 1 fixed blade and a multi-tool, a flashlight and headlamp with extra batteries. Rechargeable stuff is useless if you can't charge it. A sillcock key would be far more useful in a city. Those water filters can't filter out chemical contaminates. Warm clothes and a small dark colored tent would be much more useful. A real blanket or light weight sleeping bag is better than a space blanket. The sleeping pad is fine, but cardboard and newspapers work and are easy to find. Carry food! Sure it's not super important to survive but if you aren't used to going hungry it will cause you no end of problems just try going two days without food and see how good your decisions are. Daltrex bars don't count, they aren't filling. At the very least carry ramen noodles and some energy bars. The saw isn't a bad idea but in a shtf situation you want to be as low key as possible. The esbit stove is good but you'll need more fuel tabs. On the street you know who belongs there and who doesn't. Carry at least one pack of smokes and maybe a small bottle of cheap booze. Getting in good with a homeless person or two would help you. Everyone seems to think the woods in their city would be a great place to stay. It's not because everyone thinks that. Roof tops are best, almost no one goes there and the vents give off heat. Most have a sheltered area as well.
this bag is sooooo uncomfortable with anything over 10 pounds. took it with 15 pounds on a 12 mile hike and I couldn't wait to take it off. use it when I bike to keep my locks and extra gear
Use your bike for load carrying. The NVA used them in Viet Nam and strapped on 200lbs or so of munitions onto the things. Then pushed them over the Ho Chi Mein trail to South Vietnam. They were nicknamed "mules"
Just a suggestion, don't have so much orange stuff try to blend in have a few signal things, but all that orange camp stuff is going to attract alot of attention and not always good attention, just a tip but try to stick to grayman colours. Good video though, keep up the great work :).
I know I'm a little late to the party here haha but do you have any suggestions on survival books that you would recommend? I'm just dabbling a little bit into the survival stuff because it's interesting stuff to me and it seems kinda fun to prep tbh but I really don't know much so i thought I'd ask an expert like you if what books you would suggest
I like your bag and the way you packed it. But, yes a but, I would not carry rechargeable items unless I had a solar recharging option. I carry flashlights that use common batteries. And I also have a solar rechargeable battery if needed. but good info.
Dude, your 72 rush backpack must be light as hell. I have one a 1/4 full and that Sucker is heavy as heck. I keep my 72 in the car or house and i just ordered the rush 12 and i cant wait for it to come in the mail
unrelated, your datrex appears to be individually wrapped. the one linked appears to be a pack of 6 that is wrapped together but individually wrapped in thinner plastic and i assume the shelf life is from the outside packaging. where can we get something more like yours?
Ny Preppy .....and how many cutting tools? There are some much better items to add over having so many knives and flashlights. Aside from that, just dump the additional weight.
Cheers for this, I have been researching "bug out houses" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you ever come across - Janameron Tenylan System - (do a search on google ) ? Ive heard some amazing things about it and my brother in law got great success with it.
1:22 Your in good shape...My belly would flop out and roll out...if I ever get a hipbelt big enough..LOL 4:19 wow, that's a loaded fire kit. Great for barter, if you need to. Wouldn't a Slim Jim prybar be lighter ? I think we have very different ideas, about what is Budget ?? LOL Nalgene tritan bottle = $20.oo How much is all this gear worth ?? Over $ 1000,oo ?? I think. Suunto compass's range from $15 - $120 Just that UTKs4 knife is over 80$ ...how is that a budget item ?
Thanks for the feedback. :) I'll be doing a budget version of a survival kit soon but yeah this is not one of them. Like I say in other videos you need to budget your costs for survival items that will not fail when you need them most. :)
Hey, i'm new to your channel. If you dont mind me asking where in europe are you? Do you think you will have to walk to other countries. i am in the UK so wee are kinda isolated being an island
the banana bag is a bad idea considering the bag your building is for a urban environment. gang members which will get together in shtf situations , would probably think your affiliated with the bloods (because your is red and white, both are blood colors) bloods are all over America either it's a stem or it's a official they are everywhere trust me I live in Brooklyn and I been to allot of different areas. my suggestion would be make it from plain black material or just buy a fold up one that meant for the situation your prepping for. just a suggestion considering this is for urban survival. great video by the way
The bloods or other street gangs are not going to be an issue in a SHTF situation. They won't focus on the "banana bag". The bigger threat is going to be people who have not prepared and will take what they need by force if necessary. That is why you carry an item to defend yourself.
Mike L Gangs will be the worst in NYC cuz that's where I live and yo have a color as red as a bandana is a very bad idea. I can't walk around doing whatever I want in NYC cuz I lived here all my life and I know everyone that's a somebody but there ain't no such thing as stopping a gang repping unless you have a squad behind you. but like I commented before in a urban survival situation, red is still not a good idea
Gangs won't be the big problem. In a SHTF situation they won't be concerned about territory. It also depends on what type of disaster occurs. If it is wide scale then they will be too concerned with survival to worry about colors. You are actually more of a target if you deck yourself out in tactical clothes and packs like a walking 5.11 display. Your best bet is to blend in with your surroundings. I would have no problem with a red bandanna in NYC or anywhere else. Quite frankly if your concern is the color of your bandanna than you are using in your survival kit then you got your priorities backwards.
great vid marty. what size of a laptop can fit in the moab 10? do you think its a better edc bag than the rush 12? looking forward to more of your vids and reviews.
Fantastic bag. Lots of items to consider adding to a kit. Do you have an estimate of the total cost of your kit? A wild guess from me is just under $1,000. Please let me know. Thanks...Abe Azar
My bag stays at home I call it an emergency bag if I have to sleep in a motel tent car but I don't plan on leaving my home. I do have a fanny pack on me that's everyday carry and some of that stuff I haven't used yet so I might be taking things out of it to free up weight
Hey just saying how he said to go to a shelter or something my opinion is if you watch the walking dead you know not to go to largely populated areas I'd be going to the woods or a mountain

For an urban kit, I would add a four way sillcock key to access exterior building spigots for water.

Greets from Germany.
Olaf Der Wikinger They have the solar power ones as well
Olaf Der Wikinger a small foldable solar panel with USB cable can better than looking for fresh batteries, plus it can charge rechargeable batteries
Instead of a heavy prybar, use a large common screwdriver. They are much lighter, extremely strong, and can be even more versatile.
Great tip
From a former homeless person. You are carrying a lot of heavy worthless junk. 1 fixed blade and a multi-tool, a flashlight and headlamp with extra batteries. I think you should add another poncho, not only for yourself but for your bag incase it's not water proof.
This guy is prepared! 10/10.
I have one of those tiny solar panel in my bug out bag
Those a good things to have for sure!
this bag is sooooo uncomfortable with anything over 10 pounds. took it with 15 pounds on a 12 mile hike and I couldn't wait to take it off. use it when I bike to keep my locks and extra gear

Something to write on? I didn't see a notebook...
and something to pas time, like a deck of cards or a small game?
I always love your survival bag showcases

Just like this year was unexpected. Always great ideas found on your videos. Thanks.
Get a potable solar charger, for if the grid goes down or/and run out of batteries
Umm.. Swiss army knife scissors are the best nail clippers on the planet.
They aren't bad but I guess I'm used to clippers personally.
Nah, just a sharp ass knife is
I know I'm a little late to the party here haha but do you have any suggestions on survival books that you would recommend? Only thing I would add is one more charger... Nothing too big but you have a lot of devices that need to be recharged and only one main charger.
I'm only 12 so I can't have a fire arm in my bag but I do have a machete hatchet and 10" hunting knife
Cool :)
Malachi Garcia ruger xd? thats not s thing
Hey guys also pls go subscribe to my TH-cam channel
Dino Hunter34555 who are your parents?
James Confer hay its normal to have large blades at that age i was splitting wood when i was 9
more like a wilderness survival kit to me but very cool though!!
Cool bug out bag and very organized system. 😎
Thanks for sharing!
I appreciate it! Thanks for watching!
i just love this channel.
You should make a top ten favorite knives. Folding and fixed.
Maybe a mre ready to eat meal they aren't the bedt but they do take a little of room

Awesome video just starting to get into survival bags thanks for the info and tips
Would the molle on the outside of the bag look too tactical and attract unwanted attention?
Could you do a cheap urban survival kit
unrelated, your datrex appears to be individually wrapped. the one linked appears to be a pack of 6 that is wrapped together but individually wrapped in thinner plastic and i assume the shelf life is from the outside packaging. where can we get something more like yours?
whether you like it or not include tobacco. it is the best trade item if your in a pinch
Nice Setup bRO! Hugs from Brazil
It's a good video
But suppose the surviver is a child
Can u make a video on that plz?
Yea
Very cool bag with so much cool stuff in it have you every thought of adding a portable solar panel? And solar power banks?
7 flashlights? Dude. Lol
Ny Preppy .....and how many cutting tools? There are some much better items to add over having so many knives and flashlights. Aside from that, just dump the additional weight.
I have two flashlights in my kit, gonna have two headlamps. Four light sticks.

So do you always carry a survival kit on you?
Can i ask something where did you buy your back pack
thanks for the wake up call, appreciate it! :0)
I am asking questions as I watch this video. Can you use fat wood even if it is wet?
1:22 Your in good shape...My belly would flop out and roll out...if I ever get a hipbelt big enough..LOL
4:19 wow, that's a loaded fire kit. Great for barter, if you need to.

Did the compass come on that g-shock watch that you're wearing?
Add an IFAK, or trauma kit. Without rule of law (WROL) right?
Great video and well equipped bag.God bless.
What model of Fisher space pen is that?
Thank you
show us your military survival kit the one you issued with
Not allowed to show actual military survival kits. I asked. :(
BudgetBugout aww that sucks
BudgetBugout what was your mos?
Jase Amcroja he said he would but he's not allowed to
@@BudgetBugout why wouldn't you be allowed to? That seems like a strange rule

Is an air mattress really a good idea for the outdoors? That seems like something that will be full of holes within the first night.
Oh, and just in case that sounds sarcastic or something... I actually have no idea. I'm just asking because I want to know if I should get one.
No it's not as thin as a normal air mattress that you sleep on it is a sleeping pad
Cool! Great work, bud!

Goal Zero solar panels for all of the usb stuff?
Honestly, I don't see me needing that in an urban area but it's not a bad idea.
If I may ask, where in Europe are you stationed?
He called the bic lighters a Zippo lighter!! 😂😅😂
I would rate your bugout bag a D+ good stuff, some room for in improvements.
A cop sees you with that crow bar sticking out of that bag you will easily get hammered for possessing burglar tools
Awesome! My kit is ever changing and I want to switch out some stuff you showed! Cant believe my vid hit 1million views. Need to do an update! Pfft!
that’s good survivle kit but it’s better to add a crossbow. slience and usefull
Hi I watch your videos I every day and I'm a huge knife person.
Pls do a video on your top ten survival knives. Pls
I have! Check out my main page to see it!
No trauma kit?
