    My uncle got to train with him a few times when Edwin first came to Texas. He always told me he had never seen such power for a fighter his size. Not to mention he was in phenomenal shape and was able to go multiple rounds with no breaks. He would have been huge had he lived.

    27 and 0 with 27 knockouts. It wasn’t 37 and 0.

    I remember him Edwin Valero very well when he was first starting off with Joe chavez and Rudy Hernandez back in LA boxing and we would go spar and and a few times we spared with Edwin Valero and he was a very strong puncher
    once he spared with urbano antillon and I recall Edwin Valero hit him pretty good to where it sat him down...
    alot of fighters didn't like him and some champions that I can't say any names.. they would talk bad about him but couldn't do anything to him in the ring...
    Edwin and ponce de Leon realy liked each other ;) not!!!! and also the Santa Cruz brothers knew him pretty well....

    was a bad dude for sure but that motorcycle wreck messed his head up with the accumulation of blows to the head in the ring ! would have loved to see how his career would have panned out , prolly 1 of the best ever !

    • @ShamefulSheep
      @ShamefulSheep 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Yea it was the motorcycle accident. He had a brain scan after the accident and the doctors found irregularities in his head and suggested him that it was a bad idea to fight but he had no other means to support his family than boxing. I can't blame him because of the circumstances cause it wouldve been hard having all that talent and not being able to use them. Great fighter, just wished someone couldve stepped up to save him from himself.
