    I've got a 19 RAM Big Horn 5.7. I replaced the muffler with Flow master and removed the two resonaters. Made a big difference in the sound....no drone at highway speeds. Also have a afe cold air intake. Runs great and sounds awesome...44,000 miles with no issues.

    Unfortunately the pedal commander and other devices like that, don't actually remove lag. They just shorten the distance your foot needs to move to make the same power. So if you were to mash the pedal in both your truck (with pedal commander) and mine (without), both trucks will respond equally. I wish there was a way to actually remove the lag. I had one for a while, but though it felt better on the road, in parking lots and stoplights it felt twitchy and jumpy, my foot would get strained trying to put just the right amount of power down; too little, no power, too much and suddenly you're roaring away. I had the banks pedal monster.

    Good video, but let me comment on the washable filters like K and N and I currently have an SNB cold air intake on my 2020 ram , what I do is wash the filter in the late afternoon and then use a fan aimed directly at the filter, overnight and then a few hours in the morning. Typically, I would do this on the weekend, and I have had good success with drying them that way keep up the good work with videos I have enjoyed them.😷😎🤪

    • @MrJustinWheeler
      @MrJustinWheeler ปีที่แล้ว

      Not a bad idea. I generally only let the truck sit for 8-10 hours at night. But the fan might do the trick.

    Great array of mods Justin, thanks for the overview of them all.
    I would really love to upgrade to that Diablo Tuner but it would violate my factory warranty & probably my 7 year/100K mile extended warranty.

    • @MrJustinWheeler
      @MrJustinWheeler ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Vinnie! I’ve heard people say the Diablo does, and some say the Diablo doesn’t, void factory warranty. Probably depends on the circumstances and your relationship with the dealer. Luckily I’ve been out of warranty for a long time. So it was a no-brainer for me.

    • @bikingwithryan5968
      @bikingwithryan5968 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah it does void your warranty but it is a super good upgrade. Love my 93 Diablo tune. But it’s on a 2011 ram. Warranty long gone. High miles too. Get the pedal commander tho if you still want your warranty. Feels like you gain a ton of power.

    Great list, thanks for sharing! I'd heard for a while now that an aftermarket air filter didn't actually help or increase power with the RAMs, basically that the stock was already maxed for performance. Did you notice a difference once you installed yours? Wasn't sure how much was marketing speak vs real world improvements.

    • @MrJustinWheeler
      @MrJustinWheeler ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That’s a good question. I know they claim significant air flow increase. And I can definitively say that the aftermarket filter has much more surface area. I don’t have dyno numbers to support it- but it does feel faster, and it’s cool hearing that intake suck the air in. Very happy with it.

    • @Jsparrvik98
      @Jsparrvik98 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      my KN cold air intake made a big difference in exhaust sound and a smaller yet noticeable difference in induction noise. don't think a 5-12hp difference is noticeable especially on a heavy truck maybe under max tow but I def feel a difference with it on just sounds better/healthier if it makes sense

  • @Jsparrvik98

    I am having a reoccurring issue with my 22 ram limited, and I’m wondering if you or anyone else has had this issue. Around every 4 months my battery will die and I’ll have to jump my truck, well when this happens my power running boards mess up and the passenger side running board stays stuck out and the driver side won’t stay out even when manually deploying them. It’s happened 3 times now and I’m just curious if anyone else may have seen or heard about this issue. Every time it’s happened the power running board control module needed to get replaced. Any ideas are welcome on what could be the issue. Thanks

    • @MrJustinWheeler
      @MrJustinWheeler ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Adam. I’ve never heard of that issue. I’m still on my second battery since brand new. What you’re experiencing definitely isn’t normal. Hopefully someone who knows what the problem is will see the comment and respond.

      Put your key fob in a Faraday cage or box to block its signal. It can prevent the truck's proximity systems from going to sleep, causing power to drain from the battery.

    Great to see you again sir. I’ve done similar mods to the Longhorn. One mod I thoroughly enjoy is the resonator delete from B2 Fabrications. Made a huge difference in sound without breaking the bank. Not sure if I want to replace the tips. Your truck still looks great for as many miles on it now. Be safe out there my friend.

    • @MrJustinWheeler
      @MrJustinWheeler ปีที่แล้ว

      @ThePhil1187 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I replaced my muffler with the B2 aggressive bolt on kit, did the B2 resonator delete, and put the B2 black tips on mine. Cold starts sound amazing and once it warms up it quiets down a bit. The larger tips look great on these trucks IMO. It fills the gaps a little better and looks more aggressive. My old ‘14 ram had a Flowmaster Outlaw muffler kit on it and it had a deeper tone and never got quiet after it warmed up. I’m kind of wanting to try the B2 straight pipe out to see if I can get it back to the sound of my old ‘14 but I’m afraid my neighbors might not be too happy in the early mornings 😂

Got a 2021 Ram Lamamie with 26K miles on it being delivered soon (hopefully today), and I already ordered a Pedal Commander for it. Also plan to get the S&B CAI. Trying to make the transition from Tundra to RAM as painless as possible. Man, I loved my Tundra...but I am looking forward to driving the RAM.

    I have a 2022 Ram Classic 5.7 L and i feel like eco mode is delaying the throttle response and im having to manually gear up to turn it off everytime i put it into drive. ALso when it shuts off the cylinders it sounds like its puttering almost like it doesnt have enough power to push the weight of the truck. Its annoying. Is there a way to turn it off or do i have to go to the dealer to do it. Do i need to get a tuner or pedal commander to optimize the electronic throttle?

      I had asked this in another video of his and he had not, but I did.
      Mine is a 2020 and it started peeling up at about 28k miles I think, got it replaced under warranty thankfully. I do live in a hot humid environment so the combination might be what does it. I keep it garage parked at night but in the day it's sitting in baking sun with no shade, so now I make sure I have the sunroof cover closed and a sun shade up if it's sunny out. I did not do either of those things prior to it peeling up (not that you should have to). Haven't had any issues since but it has only been about 10k miles since it was replaced. Hoping they fixed the adhesive.

    I’m really glad I found this. My 22 Ram built to serve has the etorque v6 and between 1500k and 2k rpm is dead as hell. Hey man, have you looked into the comma 3? It adds "auto pilot" to most vehicles including our truck. I have one on my 2022 limited and it's amazing I have done 6651 miles on it so far and I don't think I could drive without it. Its plug in play takes maybe 10 mins to install. It also works as a dash cam. You don't need to keep your hands on the wheel as long as you're looking at the road. And will do lane changes when you turn on the blinker.. It's no Tesla. But it does work well and while towing. It's about $1700 and it also can work as a dash cam. I run a fork of the software called sunnypilot If you need any info let me know Just thought you might like it seeing how much you drive. lol

      Late response, but a cold air intake can both benefit and harm gas mileage depending on how you drive it. So yes, it could use more gas if you drive it aggressively, or save you gas if you drive conservatively.
