    I got my Peugeot 207 this year February, now I realized the coolant (pink) has gone down to around minimum. Not empty yet. Can I refill with any pink coolant of my choice without flushing the old one. As I’m not sure if I can do all that. ? Just like the one you showed in the video.

    Excellent video! I was going to clamp the coolant pipes as I need to remove the turbo to allow access to replace the turbo feed pipe. I'm a bit of an amateur but, on watching your video, I decided I might as well change the coolant as you made it look so simple. And simple it was!! I'm now subscribed to your site as it's very informative and easy to learn from. Awesome job Mr Fxr! PS I take it the engine is an EP6DT?

    Great video.. I have located that screw, but very isolated..how many turns does it take? I've turn itva few times, but can't hear any air or see any liquid coming out. I don't want to risk the screw coming all the way out, as I won't be able to get it back in.. thanks

    You can mix engine coolans. Just extract a sample of what's in there and mix it with the new in a glass over night. As long as it mixes ok, doesn't turn to jelly or crystalize then it's all good. If its a 2nd hand car and just needs a top up this method is sound as long as you test them 1st

      @contorta my wife is in the middle of no where, 50 minutes from home. Car was showing as overheating. I told her to check the expansion vessel and she did however, on seeing it was empty, she's added water.!! Didn't tell her to... Anyway, will that get her home if she drives it back with water? I can change it when she's back? Or do I have to go out there and sort it? She's driving back tomorrow...

      If it happened right after coolant change, than probably there is some air in the cabin heater matrix. There are two 25/30mm rubber hoses going from thermostat housing straight into the cab, the upper one should have a plastic air bleed valve on top, it is very close to bulkhead
      Please bleed all the air before driving around

    I’m changing the coolant to the correct Peugeot stuff and will need to flush the radiator and engine. The radiator looks straight forward but the Haynes manual says I need to remove the thermostat and run water through the coolant housing. Looks like a difficult job. Can you flush the engine without removing the thermostat?

    • @mrfxr1695
      @mrfxr1695  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Are you flushing it just with water? In that case you can drain out whatever is in the system. Refill with clean water. Make sure you bleed the air. One bleed valve is on the thermostat housing and other one on cabin heating matrix hose. Run the engine for 10 mins so thermostat opens and lets water run throughout the whole system, let it cool a bit and drain it again. If you have a lot of sludge or wrong coolant was used previously you can repeat the process. That should do the trick.

      Thank you that’s amazing. I do have an alkaline flush I got from the local car shop but am thinking I’ll just use water as you describe.

    Hello, ive located what i assume is the bleeder valve but there is no crosshead but rather what looks like a cap with a slot for a flathead (maybe?) and theres a tube attached on top. Below that cap is a nut which i think has to be screwed out to access the bleeder valve??

      My daughter's 207 takes about 5-10 minutes to reach working temperature. It is important to stay steady on working temperature, without temperature spikes. If during driving engine temperature jumps up and down, that's not good, it could indicate air in the system, but steady temperature levels are good. Diesel engine cars take much longer to reach working temperature especially in cold weather, but petrol engines are quick to warm up

    • @mrfxr1695
      @mrfxr1695  ปีที่แล้ว

      @mightywatcher 90c after mins is good. If you're in UK, the coolant should be red/pink colour not blue one. They don't like mixing, it is different substance and can react to each other. That is the reason for colour coding red and blue. If blue coolant is in the car, you'll have to drain and flush with water first before refilling with red coolant.
      All the best 👍🙂

      It is obvious you have a leak on the system. Inspect all connections for leak, if you can't find it or repair it yourself please take it to mechanic. With driving as such you're running a danger to seriously damage the engine
