I'm so glad I saw your wnw highlighter depotted a while back...I have 4 of those blushes/highlights and love love them but also don't prefer the packaging but was unsure about depotting...They are all now living their best life in a zpallete and they look gorgeous, no casualties.
I feel like its super easy to hit pan on colourpop super shock formula products because when you dig in with your finger it kinda mushes and pushes around the product. congrats on hitting so much pan on so many products though!! I dont think I have pan on anything right now :o

Until recently, the only time I ever hit pan on a powder product was a blush I had for years and then focused on finishing when I had pan on it or when I broke something. I was doing makeup playtime the other night, and realized I have baby pan in an eyeshadow, the first ever from use and not breakage! I am so excited. It is a warm mid toned brown that I keep in a magnetic palette with my favorite sparkly shimmer shades, so it isn't surprising that it is showing use. I will say, focusing on playing with my makeup when I have time instead of shopping when I have time really helps use things up. Which of course makes sense, but while I was spending all my time shopping I didn't think I would ever have enough time to wear makeup as often as I do now.
There's something so satisfying about hitting pan on a product, I only recently hit pan on one of my three powder highlights, becca moonstone, and those are notorious for lasting ages!

those swatches,it’s just like you said a matching theme.I always love to see from people on which kind of products they hit pan on.Once in a while I watch my own products which I hit pan on,and at the beginning of my no buy year I found it difficult to hit pan on my beautifull make-up,because once you hit pan,than it’s going fast to using up that product,and thinking of using up a beautifull product which I am not allowed to buy again,makes me sad in the beginning.After that period I was proud when I used up a product completely,because that almost never happend before,because I was buying so much make-up that it’s started to look like hoardering.When I look at all the products I used up until now,and the products I hit pan on makes me the proudest woman,because at first you use up the products that you love the most,and after that point I realy learned to love the make-up that I have,and how that product behave,all those things I would never find out when I didn’t start my no buy year.I learned to love make-up and colours that I totaly didn’t like before,just because I only used it once to try it.I owned so many products that I didn’t even opened or I only used it once with my no buy,because the expiredates when they are still sealed are long,but when I open up everything than I need to throw away many products because they went bad when they are open to long,and I still have so many products open which I use and rotate.I learned this year after using up my most loved products,that I now love foundation with a light to medium coverage,before I only loved full coverage,I love now other colours of eyeshadow,blushes,lipsticks than before,I just started using other colours in my pallets,and now I love those colours so much,before I used only a few colours in a pallet and always the same kind of colours,very neutral and light colours,and now I love smudge greens,and blues,and smoked oranges,red tones,dark Browns,copery and gold shades,I love now glitter product,if I realy don’t like it I Will give it to a friend,when it’s old I throw it away,but I realy try every colour now,and i almost never dislike a product or a colour,so i get a much bigger use out of my make-up stash than i expected,and that’s why i still own a lot of make-up,when i started this journey i thought that i would throw away,and donate a lot more because i didn’t knew that i most up,but i allow myself when i totaly ran out of a catagory,than i can buy one new product for this catagory.I helped myself into troubles by always buying new make-up,and i am now solving my problems by not buying make-up anymore,and learning to love all my products that i never used but still bought.And this journey learned me so much,also about myself,and why i always wanted to buy new make-up,i am very proud about all the things i learned so far,and i am curious about all the things i Will still learn.And once there Will be a day that i Will have a decent amount of make-up,and only Love this. But when you do Swatches can you build them up so we can see them on camera better? Iv noticed a lot do that. I think it's because the lighting is so bright it makes them difficult to see. But building them up a few times they become so much clearer. X
I’ve been watching a lot of your videos in the last few days. You’re very inspiring. ☺️You are the first person I’ve watched on TH-cam to articulately describe what happens to my eyeshadow with watery eyes! It creates a puddle and balls especially around my crease area. I used to think I had oily lids but it’s actually water- I have dry skin everywhere else on my face and body. I have noticed some eyeshadow stay on my eyes better and are more resistant to the water than others. I have good luck with Urban Decay eyeshadows. I’ve never tried ABH shadows but i do know they’re powdery and it makes sense they would get messy more quickly when exposed to water.
I'm in love with your declutter videos!! Especially the second cull. I deculttered the same way and always yell at the screen when other YTers keep so many things they felt meh about
You've inspired me to dig out my Colourpop bronze shadows. Like you, I love bronzes and I don't know why they're lingering in my drawer. BTW, I'm following you on IG and I love the clothes you make for tango. They're very sophisticated.

It was really fun and interesting to see which products that you hit pan on. I have been thinking about starting a no buy year soon myself. I have done short term ones before and I don't really think that they were long enough.
I do recommend a long one; mine keeps evolving! I think it was about the 6 month mark that I felt I had really changed. That would be the minimum I'd recommend.
I know this is an older video so idk if you'll see this but I was so excited to hear you used to live in Ann Arbor when you were in grad school as I am currently living in Ann Arbor for grad school (and should probably be doing an assignment instead of watching this video oops....) You’re right. Products labelled as bronzer look ridiculous on me (most too Orange, the rest make me look dirty) but I’ve found that Dallas by Benefit works so well as a blush that doubles to give my face some life and definition! I’ve also found a dupe for Dallas that works as well. It’s a CG cheekers shade.
I love seeing what other people have hit pan on. It's hard for me to hit pan on anything, because I don't wear makeup on a daily basis. I only hit pan on two products. A midtoned warm brown eyeshadow, that I rarely use on my eyes, but I use it as a bronzer. And a not very pigmented light shimmery Essence shadow, that I used all over the lid and as a face highlighter.
I think you'd really enjoy rose quartz highlighter once your no but ends. You could ask for it for Christmas;) It is a very pretty soft pink highlighter that is not to frosty (for me, through I'm not nearly as fair as you) I can understand why you might have 15 red lipsticks btw, it looks great on you.

Great video as always, Hannah! Question: as you’ve been given makeup by subscribers, how do you think about keeping your collection true to who you are and your values/no-buy year? It’s probably not something you would’ve foreseen at the beginning of the year if I had to guess.
I'm going to talk about this in an upcoming video! The project this year was just about shopping less, and receiving gifts doesn't affect that at all. But it does pose a challenge to my new minimalist desires. Stay tuned!
You know, after sampling, I really love Nars soft matte for a variety of uses; but I'm using up all my concealers before buying more, and Ipsy keeps sending me great trial sizes; but I'm also afraid of how easy it is to overuse for my under-eye area. You've given me some food for thought there. However, I gave my sister some of my extra samples and she went right out and got the full size. She's more of a full coverage girl, while I keep my skin look on the sheer side.
they have the neo highlighter at tj maxx for $20 all the time! i actually picked it up from there since i heard about it (on your channel...) but it REALLY didn't work for me, i think because i am so tan, it was just like a tan powder sitting on my face -- really weird and disappointing. but just a heads up for next year. :)
I am just starting my no-buy year, and I need your valuable advice : Should I concetrate more in my cream products this year, and leave the powders for a little bit later?? my advice is to just use whatever you want to use at any given time! All makeup takes SO long to use up. If you have it and you love it, use it! Don't worry about saving it for later. If you can make an effort to spread your love around a bit, that's great. But to me the no-buy is about not buying, not about restricting what I reach for in my own collection. It would be so fun to meet you at a festival! Let me know if you are ever dancing in the US!

Yes, in our age 😝 a sleepless night makes the face look horrible, especially the undereyes. Just a little idea for 2019 to help you fulfill your sugar plum fairy winter wonderland cheek...the sephora cream/gel blush in dahlia, it's a plummy berry and a great formula, I actually used up 2 of a 3 shade mini set I bought a few years ago and repurchased this one. They are sometimes on sale.
Those colourpop supershocks are so misleadingly shallow. I remember when I bought my first batch, I was on my third use of the purple lustre (dare?) and a piece chipped off the centre and left me with a huge gaping pan 😫😫 I was like WTF.. no wonder these are only $6 😒 but I do continue to LOVE CP and their easy shadows. All week I’ve been doing the same combo of a bronzy CP all over the mobile lid followed by the top right shade of TooFaced tickled pink in the outer V. I used to dislike the Too Faced formula but this tickled pink palette has knocked my socks off- so much so that the voices are telling me to buy a backup, which I never do with palettes. But it’s LE and that shade is exquisite.
Hi Tara! oooh, the eye look sounds amazing! My instinct is to say that you only need a backup if you regularly use eyeshadows all the way up. For me, even if I'm totally obsessed with an eyeshadow, by the time I manage to use it up my tastes will have changed.

It was really fun and interesting to see which products that you hit pan on. I have been thinking about starting a no buy year soon myself. I have done short term ones before and I don't really think that they were long enough.
I do recommend a long one; mine keeps evolving! I think it was about the 6 month mark that I felt I had really changed. That would be the minimum I'd recommend.
I know this is an older video so idk if you'll see this but I was so excited to hear you used to live in Ann Arbor when you were in grad school as I am currently living in Ann Arbor for grad school (and should probably be doing an assignment instead of watching this video oops....) I use apricot in the middle as my brozer. I have a huge pan. blushes can be used as bronzers and usually look better than bronzers in my opinion.
That is basically what I do, too! I used it all over. So pretty.
You’re right. Products labelled as bronzer look ridiculous on me (most too Orange, the rest make me look dirty) but I’ve found that Dallas by Benefit works so well as a blush that doubles to give my face some life and definition! I’ve also found a dupe for Dallas that works as well. It’s a CG cheekers shade.

I love seeing what other people have hit pan on. It's hard for me to hit pan on anything, because I don't wear makeup on a daily basis. I only hit pan on two products. A midtoned warm brown eyeshadow, that I rarely use on my eyes, but I use it as a bronzer. And a not very pigmented light shimmery Essence shadow, that I used all over the lid and as a face highlighter.

I think you'd really enjoy rose quartz highlighter once your no but ends. You could ask for it for Christmas;) It is a very pretty soft pink highlighter that is not to frosty (for me, through I'm not nearly as fair as you)

Great video as always, Hannah! Question: as you’ve been given makeup by subscribers, how do you think about keeping your collection true to who you are and your values/no-buy year? It’s probably not something you would’ve foreseen at the beginning of the year if I had to guess.
I'm going to talk about this in an upcoming video! The project this year was just about shopping less, and receiving gifts doesn't affect that at all. But it does pose a challenge to my new minimalist desires. Stay tuned!
You know, after sampling, I really love Nars soft matte for a variety of uses; but I'm using up all my concealers before buying more, and Ipsy keeps sending me great trial sizes; but I'm also afraid of how easy it is to overuse for my under-eye area. You've given me some food for thought there. However, I gave my sister some of my extra samples and she went right out and got the full size. She's more of a full coverage girl, while I keep my skin look on the sheer side.
At this point I only have one spot concealer and I'd like to keep it that way!
they have the neo highlighter at tj maxx for $20 all the time! i actually picked it up from there since i heard about it (on your channel...) but it REALLY didn't work for me, i think because i am so tan, it was just like a tan powder sitting on my face -- really weird and disappointing. but just a heads up for next year. :)

my advice is to just use whatever you want to use at any given time! All makeup takes SO long to use up. If you have it and you love it, use it! Don't worry about saving it for later. If you can make an effort to spread your love around a bit, that's great. But to me the no-buy is about not buying, not about restricting what I reach for in my own collection. It would be so fun to meet you at a festival! Let me know if you are ever dancing in the US!

Just a little idea for 2019 to help you fulfill your sugar plum fairy winter wonderland cheek...the sephora cream/gel blush in dahlia, it's a plummy berry and a great formula, I actually used up 2 of a 3 shade mini set I bought a few years ago and repurchased this one. They are sometimes on sale.

Those colourpop supershocks are so misleadingly shallow. I remember when I bought my first batch, I was on my third use of the purple lustre (dare?) and a piece chipped off the centre and left me with a huge gaping pan 😫😫 I was like WTF.. no wonder these are only $6 😒 but I do continue to LOVE CP and their easy shadows. All week I’ve been doing the same combo of a bronzy CP all over the mobile lid followed by the top right shade of TooFaced tickled pink in the outer V. I used to dislike the Too Faced formula but this tickled pink palette has knocked my socks off- so much so that the voices are telling me to buy a backup, which I never do with palettes. But it’s LE and that shade is exquisite.
Hi Tara! oooh, the eye look sounds amazing! My instinct is to say that you only need a backup if you regularly use eyeshadows all the way up. For me, even if I'm totally obsessed with an eyeshadow, by the time I manage to use it up my tastes will have changed.
