Helen, you are honestly the only fashion TH-camr I watch anymore. Your videos deliver so much value, we can really see how much effort you put into them. And even though you have some partnerships (which is totally ok, we know that's how you make a living, too!) you are not advertising overconsumption/buying stuff mindlessly - quite the contrary. Keep on being you 🌸

The way you said... the chair 🤣🤣
Thank you for these tips, so useful and I like how you explain the 'why' at the same time. Probably some people who won't agree with me on this one, but I just wash my clothes when they smell or get dirty, so my 'chair' rail is pretty big, esp some thick knits I haven't washed ever!!

I recently watched that Netflix documentary "Buy More" and this video is so helpful to make me feel like I have some control over my impact on the earth and not contributing to this absolutely GARGANTUAN waste problem we have on this poor earth. We are doing so much harm to her. Thank you for showing us how to not only care for our pieces, but be more intentional in our style so we can build each year, not waste clothes, and have our pieces last longer so they don't go into the abyss that we call "away"

The hot tumble-dryer is the hardest thing of all on clothing. In the wash the water solution helps minimize the friction, but it’s severe in the dryer. I never machine-dry any clothing except for the occasional cotton item that I want to shrink. I have a clothesline and a couple of drying racks in my laundry room for drying clothes. I also have a fan, turning that on cuts the drying time by half. Elastic waist-clothes and clothes with Spandex should never be machine-dried, especially. I have very little of this in my wardrobe, I hate Spandex.

Thank you for another great video Helen. I always enjoy watching your content.😊 I actually do pretty much the same, the cedar blocs are new to me so thanks for sharing the information. Last couple of years I started being more conscious about my wardrobe, I do agree that we get the most out of our clothing when it's made out of natural fibres. Have a lovely week ahead ❤

Oh no!! I’m so sorry 😢 sadly the texture can’t be reversed but if it’s now too small, you can gently stretch it out when wet

I’m really curious about your take on Petite Studio. I have ordered several things from them and have found the sleeves to be extremely long. Like longer than clothes from stores with standard sizing. Their reviews are also full of petite women saying they are drowned by the clothing. I’m just genuinely confused about what the point of having a “petite” brand that sells such oversized items is. I noticed the same issue with your blazer. I’m sure you can’t say much since they sponsor you. But, I think the market is missing a petite brand with clothes truly designed for small frames and short limbs.

Synthetics are okay in a blend. A wool nylon blend for example keeps its shape so well and washes better for me i find.
I also find vintage blends way better than modern ones.. everything is made faster and cheaper these days and it makes the care much more unpredictable.
Viscose is your nemesis. Rayon is mine. How rude of you to wrinkle just by me looking at you lol its rude hehe.

I’m a mixed blend woman and I don’t do wool, alpaca or mohair - the texture is not for me. And I do cotton with my tops. Polyester blending works in a lot of ways

Hello, I try to not wash too often, but just after a day (or even hours, depending on the weather and activity) it smells at the armpits parts ! Whether it is a tshirt, shirt, heattech clothes...For bottoms or sweaters it is fine but for tops that are closer to the skin it's just bad...What to do ? (I do take showers)

Hello! I’d highly recommend incorporating underarm shields under the clothes, if they can be hidden (not applicable to strapless tops, of course). You can buy them new and stick them in the inside of your tops, I actually made my own and is very easy! If that is an option, making them with a white linen material is a great choice since this is a fabric that retains sweat and odors incredibly well! This is how I prolong the wear of my vintage clothes, since they shouldn’t be washed too often. Hope this helps!

A couple of months ago I handwashed my 100% merino wool sweater the same way you wash and dry your knitwear (I even use the same detergent LMAO) and it still shrunk. Has this ever happened to you before??😅😅😅

Hello! Did you wash and rinse in water of the same temperature? For example, if you wash in lukewarm water and then rinse it in cold water, the difference in water temperature can actually disrupt the wool fibers. Hope you were able to stretch it to the original size!

@@sarameira7226Hello! I washed and rinsed the sweater in cold water, I don’t think there was a difference in water temperature 🥹🥹 Maybe its cuz I didn’t really stretch the sweater out afterwards? I was too worried that the sweater would lose its shape if I stretched it in any way 😂
