    I originally had the M50 and loved it, but unfortunately it was stolen. It felt a little silly going out and buying the exact same camera that I already had, so I went ahead and upgraded to the M6 Mark ii. I love the overall feel of the camera, the screen itself is extremely bright and I have never had the need for the viewfinder - I purchased it after the fact thinking I'd use it, but honestly the screen is just much more convenient even at noon on a hot summer's day. The absolute only thing that I wish were different is there are times that I do miss the tilting screen when I want to take a vertical picture down low.
    I like that I have all three controls right at my fingertips, instead of just one control on the M50, I also like to use the electronic silent shutter, and also the USB charging is awesome. Overall it just feels like a more sleek and sexy camera. I loved my M50 though and would've happily stayed with it for a very long time.

    Funny, I came to the following conclusions:
    1) Detachable EVF. I hated the shape of the M50 because of that EVF. I love that I can add or remove the EVF on the M6II. Much easier to fit in smaller compartments.
    2) 4K with DPAF with no additional crop (deal maker right there)
    3) 24fps is now available
    4) I prefer the flip up screen to the flip out
    5) Better lowlight performance (another deal maker)

    • @ndon85
      @ndon85 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      how is that a better low light performance? They both have the same sensor and the M50 has actually higher pixel area (13.84µm2vs10.29µm), so it should collect more light and perform better in low light.

    • @CheeseOnEverything
      @CheeseOnEverything 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ndon85 higher the pixel count, smaller the size of each pixel, which means it'll let in less light.

    Hello, thanks for your review, i'm a M6 user, looking for the M6 mk ii and i want to share why i didn't go with the M50 at the time.
    1- The 4K feature of the M50 was really appealing but it was cropped and Dual Pixel Autofocus wasn't working in this mode (while in 1080P it has it… like my M6mk i).
    2- The articulated screen while it's great for many situations, something people doesn't talk about is gimbals, when you use a gimbal, i prefer the rotating io of articulated screen, the balance is easier, and viewing while filming is better in my opinion.
    3- The EVF is a question of tastes but i appreciate the fact i can have it or not, nice for packing and look of the camera.
    4- The price point, i remember when i get the M6 mk i, i got it with a nice bundle at a nice price as the camera was out for a long time. after some time, the M50 price drops too, i guess the same will happen with the M6 mkii. It's hard, only for early adopter.
    I will get the new M6 mk ii because i like that the 4K has DPAF (event if this 4K is oversampling), the high frame rate burst,and the ability to use all i had with the old version.
    Nice vid 👍🏽

    • @snowwalker9999
      @snowwalker9999 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, M6 ii is a better video and photography camera in general than the M50. At least now you can use the 4k. 32mp is also a great advantage for sharpness. The only thing that is puzzling is why they removed 24fps only for those who really care and need it.

    • @tiemji
      @tiemji 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@snowwalker9999 Thanks for your answer. I always shoot 30/60 fps, i don't get why people are complaining about 24fps. If you know, could you please explain me?

    • @snowwalker9999
      @snowwalker9999 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Joseph Tossoukpe for everything 30/60 is great but most average users today want to shoot cinematic videos and post on TH-cam. 24fps is fewer frames and looks choppier like the old film cinema that has always been shot at 24fps. It's easier to hide imperfections at that frame rate especially in a fight or fast moving scene and make it look cinematic. I hope my poor explanation makes sense :)

    Hmmm… Love my M50 and all but; I'd take 32mpixels over 24 for cropping-in any day…
    M6 mk2 has C1, C2, M50 has none…
    120fps 1080 beats 120fps at 720p…
    M6 has Better battery…
    Love the full articulated screen on the M50, but not finding it very useful for street photography… M6 flip-up slightly better for candid framing photography in the streets. For vlogging M50 wins though…
    Love the idea of a removable EVF, most time I shoot from the hip, and I don't even use it on the street anyway…
    Still in two minds whether the M6 mk2 or the 90D… or to just wait and see what's coming next. 6Dmk3?… M60?… EOSR5?…

      Simply put, most average users looking at the photos on a phone screen won’t be able to tell the difference, but with a real camera, you can get much sharper photos. Smartphone cameras use a lot of digital sharpening in the software so it can look pretty close, but it’s still limited. If you know how to use a camera and if you have good lenses, you’ll have a much bigger potential with a real camera.

I got the M6 Mk II myself for the uncropped 4k video. APS-C cameras have enough of a crop on my EF lenses and digital IS, couldn't cope with the M50 crop added on. Although some people like the M50 crop as it gives them a Super 16 analogue (apparently).

    Huge draw back of M50 for me: only 1 control ring, as compared to 3 on m6 ii, which makes manual mode more impractical; the lack of 120fps in 1080p, because I wanna take some slow motion videos.

    The uncropped 4K is a big deal. Also the m6 3 wheels instead of sharing one wheel for adjusting aperture, shutter speed, and ISO. Also on the main wheel on top, the M6 has 2 extra custom settings to instantly change to 2 different custom scenarios of your making. For me, what keeps me with the m50 is the fully articulating SIDE screen and having a viewfinder, if I had some cash to spend, I might invest in having both cameras. Oh yeah, I didn't say that I have an m50 and really like it. It is my first DSLR type camera since I had a canon AE-1 film camera, way back in the olden days before digital was even a thing. Yes, I am a bit older than most if your subscribers, so my opinions come with varied experiences. Have fun. I like the way you present your content. Luthval I never said M50 is a better camera. Everything on this video was based on specs. You don’t have to try the camera in person to know how much it is or if it has a viewfinder or if it has a side flip screen. You just have to find a camera that fits your needs

    • @luthval
      @luthval 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@HyunRalphJeong Your title says "5 reasons to get" (the one you already have) instead of getting the one you never tried, based on price (not the same category as I said), the EVF (M6 have one, removable that is in my opinion a "plus") and the screen (for my sake I prefer the flip screen than a fully orientable as I'm doing stills, not videos. You don't speak about real differences as the 32.5 Mpixels sensor, the superior speed (better use of the digic 8 on the M6 II), uncropped 4k, better ergonomy (dials...) And thoses options makes the difference between the entry level M50 and the M6 II and explain the price (besides the better quality of building on the M6 II that many people attest after trying both cameras. So your "only specs" advice is incomplete. It is like saying you better buy a 250D than the 90D... Of course depends on your needs, but not the same category again, so we shoud compare what is comparable.

      Luthval Not sure if you watched the video but again, it’s not “m6 mk ii sucks so don’t get it.” I’m saying a lot of people may not need to spend extra $3-400 on the m6 to get good results. Like you said, it depends on your needs. If you’re happy with your camera, you don’t need to be watching reviews to validate your choices.

      @HyunRalphJeong  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@luthval Yes exactly! That's what people should do. Making best decisions for themselves rather than choosing a camera just because it's newer or better. If the two cameras looked exactly the same and costed the same but one had better image quality, then the choice is much more clear but like you said, the m50 and m6 mk ii are different. If the things I said in the video don't apply to you, then obviously the m6 mk ii may be the better camera for you.
