I'm with you. I wouldn't say it's one of my all time favorites, but this was a part of my childhood as much as Robocop, Terminator 1 and 2, Die Hard, Fifth Element, Leon The Professional and many others from the 80s/90s.
Hey just because a film did not do well when released does not mean it cannot have a great afterlife. Also they don't make soundtracks like this anymore.
Back when music magically transported you to a beautiful place. Mainstream music today just doesn't have the same emotional charge like back in the day.

Dennis Hopper has the rock in heaven with his Hoosiers, and they better not attempt to grow a brain. Bob Hoskins is dabbling in watercolors with Heaven's angels. Rest their souls.
My grandfather met Dennis Hopper out in a Walmart parking lot once. He complimented Hopper's car and they chatted for a little while. I wish I had been there to at least get an autograph. 😔
My first time seeing the movie…and I responded the same way. This song triggered something in me as all of you. Just seeing those two on screen then the songs cues perfectly showing their somewhat love…lol movie magic is crazy like that. Boom she just hit us with the quotable. OVER HERE PUDGY BUNS Lol
Oldschool 80s and 90s had an authenticity that's long gone , and It bleeds through every aspect of modern movies , music , videogames , and life In general.
many many MANY years later, [saw this movie only once after 90ties], I found myself dancing this song with someone not long ago. This song just popped in my head and I said, lets dance to this one when I played it from my phone through bluetooth speaker. She loved it. Rip Bob and Dennis.
@@thenerddirector interesting fact. Bob Hoskins hated the fact he was in Roger Rabbit. He felt that if prevented him from playing more serious roles and made him not want to do any more family/kid movies. Which is part of the reason the Mario bros movie came out the way it did.
Super late reply but I finally had to realize it was only released for the movie in order to finally find it. A really underrated slow dance gem. I could see myself sneaking this into my future wedding as a bride/groom number
This OST is subestimated... This song, and the music of Roxette, Divinyls, Extreme and Joe Satriani, (Speed of light in the frozen tube was epic) are great.

Something in this song neutralized my brain into relaxation when I was a kid watching this movie lol. I was all energetic and charged up then this scene came on and I was like 🤤
Am I the only one who really loves the movie? I know it was a not-so-faithful adaptation of a video game since it was the first one, but let's face it: even in the 90s, it was impossible to literally bring Mushroom Kingdom to silver screen. At least the directors tried, right?! Today, with Lord of the Rings and the beautiful environment, maybe the movie would have a better reception.
actually this movie wasn't the first, In 1986 there was an animated Mario movie released for a short time in japan, and now only 7 copies are known to exist there is now a dub you can watch on the youtube channel chad kyler
what this movie was is so much more than the video game "mushroom kingdom" could ever be. every extension of an idea in Mario Bros. is beautifully rendered into something that is not only faithful to the video game but also fresh and unique. if they made this movie today it'd be john cena and the rock doing the dumbest shit imaginable with funko pops and a MCU crossover. that this flick receives such poor reviews says more about most people than it does about the work of art that is Super Mario Bros. (1993).
Hands down my favorite song from the soundtrack. I have the SMB soundtrack CD, but it doesn't want to work for me. At all. (Which really sucks, because it's one of my favorite albums.) Thank you so much for uploading this.
I watched the Mario Bros movie for the first time when I was about 9 years old in 2000 or so and I had no idea it even existed. I really enjoyed it then and still find it enjoyable now for what it is. Yes its lame and cheesy but its fun and kind of unique in its own way. I always see things on the internet like "What if they made a gritty real looking Pokemon or Zelda movie?" Well they did once with Mario Bros and everyone hated it lol.
Even though this movie was hated by many, it truly had the best Mario Bob Hoskins and Luigi John Leguizamo and Koopa Dennis Hopper, plus amazing soundtrack such as this one, it was more of a mature intake of Mario bros if you think about it. I remember watching it back then in the early 90s, what a time to be alive
I don't see how anybody could have hated this movie but I can understand at the same time it was the early nineties... But at the same time, I would like to say... Bob hoskins was a great actor and played great movie for Disney. And John leguizamo as well. They did a great job in the movie. In my opinion. And it was about the future. So as the future generation I would just say good job in our R.i.P.BoB hoskin.
Nisa Records has released the Super Mario Bros. movie soundtrack! This song is on it, and I don't take it lightly when a good soundtrack album is OUT OF PRINT! You'd be hard-pressed to find a CD copy, so just download the MP3 album from Nisa Records!
RIP Bob Hoskins. You may have hated doing the Mario Bros. movie, but you gave 110% percent in it as an actor.
Also the lead singer of this group is dead. Charles Pettigrew.
Blue skies don't last forever.
I know this movie is hated, but it was a childhood movie for me and is one of my favorite movies of all time. RIP Bob Hoskins!

Why is the sexiest song ever written in a mario movie?
Lol!
