Town made famous by the Eagles.... I've seen several videos of Winslow and it seems like an interesting place to be .. The little painted desert is awesome from your drone.. Thanks for the visit into Winslow and the surrounding areas Randy. It's been cold here in southeast La. so it's a good day for a video.. See you next week..
Wow what is great trip! 👍 Love all the beautiful views and the tour of the hotel I could imagine how beautiful it was in it prime. Thank for sharing this with us 👍
We've been to La Posada, stayed a night, dined in the restaurant... fantastic experience! The rooms are small but period-decorated and comfortable. And not expensive. Highly recommended stop for anyone crossing Arizona on I-40.
I stopped at the cafe shown at 0:37 in 2014. At the time, they had 2 or 3 antique vehicles parked outside. The girlfriend I was with at the time, got ALS and died under 4 years after that trip, at age 59. But at the time, it was a great, fun trip. Everything from dinner/drinks on top of Stratosphere in Vegas, to the biggest "whole dam tour" of Hoover Dam, to Canyon de Chelly, where we spotted a small thunderstorm on the horizon maybe 50 miles away, and waited to see where it went. It came straight to us, as if we'd done a rain dance. It was maybe 1 mile in diameter, and found/drenched us. We were near Spider rock, a rock pretty much the size/shape of the Chrysler Building skyscraper in NYC. Magical stuff. Plus we must have visited a dozen National Parks and other major sights. Mesa Verde was another favorite. Anyway, in that cafe, we noticed that they sold "alien driver's licenses" for your choice of state, very reasonably priced as gag gifts. I later saw the exact same item at a UFO-related town in NV for about 3x the price. You went to some good/interesting places in this video.
Hi EfficientRVer, I'm sorry to hear of your loss. It sounded like the trip of a lifetime with great memories. I hope to have a trip like that when I retire. Thank you for the kind words and have a great day!
Hi Jigsaw, Thank you for the kind words. I enjoy traveling thru that part of AZ. There is so much history to learn about. Thanks for sharing and have a great week!
Hi Karen, Someone commented that the rooms aren't that expensive. They are a little small but period decorated and recommends staying there. Hope that helps. Have a wonderful day!
That looked like a Global Expedition Vehicle. They make offroad RVs that sell in the half million+ price tag. I have seen videos of them out in country you would hesitate to even take a 4 wheel drive.
Thanks, Seabee ,Traveler. Great video today. Thanks again, Randy 👍
Thank you Lloyd! Have a great day!
