Springer is done. He can't catch up to any fastball over 92 mph. You can see pitchers attacking him now with a steady stream of heat.

Thanks for the shout out, I knew you'd come through with the Springer PH slander 😅
Serious question (this is my first season really following MLB), is Springer's status as a highly-paid veteran the reason he still plays as much? Does this happen in baseball a lot, playing a guy just because he's got a high salary? Or is it just his stellar defense compensating for the atrocious AB s ?
I know status (highly paid, first round draft pick, etc) in other sports gives guys a longer leash before getting pulled, I thought this might not be the case in MLB since there is no salary cap. Does this happen often ?
Great show, keep it up boys !

When you look at springers career, he’s pretty much hitting career lows in every meaningful stat. I think the hope is that Springer can turn it around, even though he has showed zero signs of doing so at the plate. His defence and speed are most likely the only reasons he’s in the lineup. The pay definitely comes into play, but without salary cap it’s not as big of a factor as it is in other leagues. Thanks for listening! Tough year to start following the Blue Jays😂

One example you can look at is Jose abreu. He has making about 20 million a year and hitting terribly, so they ended up releasing him. Not the exact same scenario but one you can draw comparisons from

Boston is a great example of a team overachieving, with many reclamation projects playing lights out-especially in the bullpen-and call-ups making an impact. We should take inspiration from what the Bosox are doing and decide to "tear off the band-aid" and play the young guys. The Jays are still missing one or two reliable, consistent hitters in the top four. Davis Schneider is not cutting it in the top 4. Let's try IKF up there, with Horwitz leading off, and maybe Clement 3rd. Let Schneider do his thing in the 6th or 7th spot. Meanwhile, Vlad still has only 7 homers, with continued warning-track power.

The only bone I have to pick with Bassett is that he throws too many pitches to get outs. That's why he often can't get through more than 6 innings. I'd like to see our starters get through 7 with their 100 pitches. That's the goal, given our bullpen woes.

Tough that you have to expect your pitchers to honestly pitch the entire game, and pitch it perfectly for the jays to have a chance to win. I can tell you’ve been watching the Blue Jays a lot this season just by your analysis, you aren’t wrong at all

I don't understand why John Schneider continues to make the moves he does. Taking players out and replacing them with hitters that are inconsistent. Starters giving us a chance to win, the bullpen giving it up, the hitters continue to not come up clutch....why even bother with this team anymore. At least my other team, the Boston Red Sox, won. They are improving, the Jays continue to fall. So done with this team. As long as John is the head coach and Atkins is the GM....I don't see a playoff team from this core.

Why in the world is Schneider still manager of this team? Every game there are decisions made. Why did he take Horowitz out of this one? And to replace him at the plate with Kermeier, who is Springer 2.0.

As we’re horny for Horwitz, John Schneider must be horny for defence because there is no other explanation
