Für me the "alternate universe" was Franklin's vision, like his life passes his mind's eye as he lies on the ground dying. He imagines how everything might have gone differently - that one way or the other he could never really escape the situation - and so he comes to his conclusion at the end. Great episode, very surprising and intense.
I don’t know if anyone else realised aswell that man boy was wearing all blue in that scene where he was driving off, while skully and his guys was in red , representing bloods and crips maybe?
Life flashes before your eyes. When he woke up in the ice bath all he heard was his mother speaking and that is why he hasn’t stopped. Cause I’m his dream before he woke up his mum said” fight whatever is coming go through it”
Quick question, in the mini doc "Remembering John Singleton" his colleagues say that he experienced a situation similar to the ending of Boyz N Tha Hood. In episode 10 Leon tries to attack a kid with a camera who's making a movie. Do you think this was payed as homage to John? Almost like the alternate universe was John's reality? Just a thought.
WOW! My family & I have watched that episode twice and we’re still confused. We had finally agreed it had to be a dream cause too much contradiction. Especially Louie being pregnant. So now we know. ALTERNATE UNIVERSE.
Yep, it was all part of an alternate universe. What would have happened if Franklin never sold coke...turns out he still would face obstacles and violence and would still be held back...
Season finale sucked. I feel the director didn’t have enough storyline to continue from Episode 9 so he made up the alternative episode then threw in where we picked back up from with franklin getting shot at the end with a lil time left. I was pretty bad hopefully the director doesn’t get lazy and do it again in season 4.
the legend has it that teddy didnt shake his hand because of covid. the legend has it that teddy didnt shake his hand but instead shot franklin point blank the legend has it that melody came followed franklin and finished the job by shooting him in the back
The alternative universe was just the possibility of his life and what it could have been or would have been, this is presumed to be happening during the 3 minutes where he died. Him waking up in the ice is just him coming back.
Man I was confused seeing that cop and that dude that got killed in the desert reappear I was like is this some bad dream of what he thinks of when he was dying of the people that haunted him or maybe this kind of stuff was haunting him the entire show which would explain his always thinking or something on his mind face
This episode is one of the most poignant of the series, and it annoys but doesn’t surprise me that it went over SO many people’s heads. Most of y’all just want the drug dealing, shootouts & drama, but miss the true messages
The alternate universe makes sense as the guy who robbed the store is the same guy they shot after R wording that guy I was so confused the whole ep 🤦🏽♂️😄
Question ?... the part when Franklin was working at the store and the guy robbed the store... Andre came in an shot him did he die??? Cause that’s the same guy later that franklin used to get his money back after he got robbed and the then franklin and his boy killed him and burned him?...
After Andre shot the man, the coroner came and took the body out. So, yeah, he died. But, that guy may have been in earlier episodes, since the finale was like an alternate universe showing how no matter the circumstances the end result is still the same, because either way (both legit and illegal) there are circumstances that will keep you from reaching your end goal - which in Franklin’s case is freedom..... After he left the store, his mother gave him a speech to continue to fight, and then he woke up in present day in the tub.
It's just like the guy said that drugged Reed and his ex-wife in the jungle. He told Reed that you and your wife want different things. He said she was waiting on God and that she would never understand people like them who'd do anything for the betterment of their people even if it means kill whoever gets in their way. I'm still doing research on whether it was an alternate universe or not but I'm convinced it isn't but the store robber/rapist and drug dealer from the last episode is making me think otherwise.
im 2 episodes into season4 and im still waiting for Franklin to wake up from a coma. he hasnt, now im researching wtf is going on. so basically the show got rebooted smfh. thanks for the help ma'am
This could have been 2 min video. I.e. First half is alternate universe and when he woke up in tub, we switched back to reality/the story line we had been watching to this point.
Good video. I came to the same conclusion aswell.. it was a good episode but I was a lil annoyed with the direction they toke.. but I get it and i am looking forward to season 4. I understand the point they were trying to make and that the show don't work without Franklin but I would have liked to see a lil bit of what was going on with his people's while he was on his trip. LoL
I agree. I was looking forward to high action in the finale, but instead it made you think. I can't wait for season four. What are your predictions for the new season?
Didn't like this at all thought I missed a episode or something this was dumb great great show till this point started the whole series again when s4 dropped
I mean I don’t believe he was in a alternate universe like I still didn’t finish the video but your answering your own questions as you talk about the episode and proud that no such thing as a alternate universe it ain’t marvel 😂
Dumbest episode ever.Retrograde narratives are always disfavored. Whoever directed this episode thought it would be deep and different enough to make people feel better if he turned another page by going to college.
This was a terrible review, You lent absolutely no insight or explanation to the episode. All you did was provide a blow by blow of everything we just watched. That is not an explanation or a review----just simply a Recap. I came to your channel expecting insight and perspective of what happened, which you offered neither, It takes no effort to simply regurgitate the episode from notes you take of events. But it takes thought and effort to analyze and offer perspective. We really does not help when people use this U-tube vehicle to tell us only scene by scene what we would just watched. If that is what we need then all we have to od his hit rewind and watch the episode again---which would be more precise that listen to your MEMORY of the scenes. Either label your videos as RECAPS or spend more time thinking about matters so that you can provide insight and perspective
What are you looking to discuss? We are happy to help. We shared our perspective of the episode, as we understood it to be an alternate universe. We also shared, as we detailed the episode, which parts had deeper meaning, if any. Thank you for watching, we appreciate it. Can't wait for next season!
This was the WORST explanation video I’ve ever seen!! Did she really say they were in a alternate universe?? Wtf was she talkin about?? From my understanding, she’s never watched an episode of Snowfall just that last episode of season 3.. BC WOW that “explanation” was flat out horrible
this was meant to be an an alternate reality, that’s why the professor was talking about it, it’s why all the shit that happened in that episode ie, Franklin getting kicked out of college the way he did and Karvel robbing the store and being shot dead u mad pressed for no reason
Dear sweet girl, If you’re going to hem up the general public’s life for 22 minutes, be cautious, gracious and intentional enough to practice better public speaking and enhance your vocabulary. Look up your local Toast Master’s and join . It could really help! Don’t be lazy, this episode was lazy enough. No mention or show or Mel and what happened to her considering there were police and Franklin’s own gunman to take her down, right next door. They had to have heard the shots after the first one. Explain that! The only way using up an entire episode and not showing or mentioning Mel is if she quit the show and issued a cease and diciest warning from her attorney or something. Her absence and the lack of explanation makes no sense! Franklin killing Andre the previous episode when he helped to raise him and saved his life makes no sense. It seems contrary to the Franklin we were introduced to in the first seasons. The writing and.character psychology development of him and Teddy is lacking. More so Franklin than Teddy. You mention Teddy Aliases, he introduced himself with his real name which was also on the card and therefore in Franklin’s consciousness .I guess in an alternative world their lives were going to cross one way or another. Maybe in his alternative reflection, if Andre had of shot and killed the guy who had rapper tendencies, rapping Lenny and telling Franklin to say he’s his bitch, Franklin would not have participated in that first murder and escalated to having Lenny killed, killing Kevin and then Andre. In an alternative world why not have the police or Reed kill Avi, he was the one who got him turned on to this life style? I think maybe they recapped the robbery scene also because that’s were the trauma began and something in Franklin desperation for survival clicked. Survival in every way, to escape property, to live and not die, etc. After that scene we also saw him taking a soul delving bath. You said obviously Franklin never went to college and he obviously did ( are you really watching and paying attention to that which you’re giving commentary on? It’s necessary) Calling it an alternative universe is one thing/ way to describe this episode, but not quite as it filled in some gaps of reality and scenes we didn’t see in the beginning, him being in college, which is where he met his White homeboy from the Valley. Establishing his intelligence.establishing his paradigm of freedom. How Leon got on with drug life and into the picture. Why Leon loved Wanda so much, she was the mother of his children and held it down while he was in jail before she became a crack head. The abject poverty they all were living in and daily facing-snd how the system, the landlords, etc all perpetuated its continuance. Even still, when the drug on the street was just weed families and relationships were still in tact in the hood, kids were still playing outside and growing up safe in the projects. Anyway, this episode was chaotic snd haphazard, I wondered if this was the time frame that John Singleton died, unexpectedly and they just had to pick something through to keep filming on tract. That may be the issue. It was very courageous and ambitious of you to take on this endeavor. The backdrop of the palm trees, the quick edit to scenes was excellent and made this feel like it would be legitimate, it added credibility. But you would do yourself a loving favor to continue to develop your personal technique and skill set.
I spent 10 min. Thinking Hulu skipped an episode 😂🤦🏽♀️

Tyler anderson graham exactly . Skully fasho a blood
I also saw this! And how Franklin is now crippled with a cane...
You gotta remember too when man boy was getting introduced, they said that he moved to Hoover st.(Hoover Crips)when they was little.
Correct, with Franklin out there was no order. People did as they felt.
@@paidphatz1460 see and all this could be is a set up to how those gangs formed and eventually splintered

thanks bro. easy explanation.

Yeah it was a trippy episode for sure

Can you explain the bath scene? I don’t get how he goes from alternative universe, to an ice bath, to waking up in a locker room/real world?
