Thank you so much for this! In my mind, I feel less daunted by the research component of the DClinPsy (If I get on in the next 300 years lol) as although I am not a natural stats whizz, I feel like with enough time in the library and reading, I could come up with something good. I am more nervous and have less of a growth mindset with the clinical side of things: as though I'll either be naturally good or bad with clients, with no in between (even though therapy skillz are a big part of a course and that feedback and outcome measures can give an indication).

So sorry I only saw this comment! HEY - if we can apply the growth mindset to research, we can do it to clinical skills as well ;). I think it's fair to have areas where you feel more comfortable, but the doctorate is ultimately there to teach you. Also CPs come in all different shapes and sizes (in terms of what they do in their day to day work) - it doesn't necessarily have to be super therapy heavy if that's not your bag!

@@TheWorryPeople Thanks for replying! The therapy/ people-y bit is what appeals to me, but I'm just inclined to think I'm "not a natural", and worry that I'll get it wrong than most. I aspire to be a 5'4 triangular prism shaped CP!

@@marianna3833 Hahah GREAT choice of shape. The therapy side is definitely both a science and an art - elements can absolutely be learnt, and parts of it just need lots of practice and experience! I've got high hopes for ya ;)

Another fantastic video - thank you so much! The fear of god is in me for the 'design a research study' question at interviews. I have gone into full panic mode each time I've been asked this! Thank you so much for this video and your content!!!

Hahaha honestly I go pale just thinking about that question - but if I got through it, so can you! Thanks so much for your comment, it means a lot!!

Thanks, Miranda, again another great video, I learnt yes research can be daunting but everyone is there to support you and especially with the stats bits.

Your videos are so fun to watch, Miranda! I love you to bits! I'm going to start my training in South Wales this year and the research component gives me the creeps; no idea how I managed to answer the interview research questions...Manny is lucky to have you! ❤️

So happy I watched this video - I was wondering if I should waste a year doing a masters in research. I would rather not and prefer to support a lecturer at uni looking for a part time research assistant.

Hey Miranda! Hope you’re having a great summer! I’m a sixth form student and although I’ve never studied Psychology, I was wondering what you study in Clinical Psychology! I am interested in this career path!

Thank so much Miranda, these videos are very helpful. Do you know if there's an upper age limit to applying for DClinPsy? Also, where can we read your published paper? I find psychosis quite an interesting topic.
