Your punch needle videos have been so fun to watch! A new hobby I never knew I needed! Loving all the seasonal designs…sewing themed designs would be sew fun too! 🧵🪡
Lori, you are so creative and talented! Thank you for showing us how to make the things you have created❤️ I love, love everything Lori Holt ! And I love how you are bringing back the ‘old timey’ things my grandmother and great grand had made but your color selection is so much better😁❤️
Great video, Lori. I love your ideas for finishing too. I learned to do needle punch many years ago, when my mother had a cross stitch shop. Well, it was called needle punch back then. I'm having a hard time calling it punch needle. Haha! Thanks for all of the tips. It is a very fun craft to do. Love everything you do, especially your quilt kits. 🥰 Pam Miller
Some really cute ideas. How cute would it be to use those stars as a gift tag on Xmas presents. You could write To and From on the back of the star and maybe the year or any little special note.
Hi Lori, I have a question .. I just bought your fabric and it’s working out extremely well. I love it. I am wondering if it can be dyed? I’m wanting to do a project on black.
LOVE your idea with the stars and using them as Christmas ornaments! Do you think you might in the future offer the star pattern and other patterns that can be used for ornaments? I think this would be a great small project and a great way to start with punch needle. Just a suggestion. You have the best tutorials and I love the way you explain things. Thank you!!
OMG. I had a good art teacher in 8th grade. I started a project then with burlap as the base and Bongo Orange yarn a prominent color! I was making a hooked rug about 5x3. Lol. Never got finished!
Lori - If I wanted the bird to be a Winter or Christmas piece to display, I would change the colors. Maybe a darker green for the leaves and red for the berries. What colors would you use for the bird? Would you change the flower to maybe a pointsettia? Even, maybe, in Pennsylvania Dutch style, do two birds, facing each other on a hanging of some sort???
Lori - As you can probably tell from all my questions and comments about this beautiful bird, it has started my ideas flowing. I think that we are now living in such a violent, sad, unsafe world (not the childhood safe and secure world of the 1950s when I grew up), that this bird would also make a lovely hanging as a Bird of Peace. Maybe a dove carrying an olive branch, with the script world Peace on it? What do you think?
Would the chunky thread punch needle work for coasters? If so, would you finish the backside any different from your Mod Podge demonstration? Thank you!
About backgrounds for completing punch needle: the brown table upon which you are showing to us, I think that color would look good beyond the bird project as it brings out the branch color... then maybe a pink painted scalloped edge, sides and a bit around the bird, would help pop other colors... just thinking... or Mod Podge a scalloped lacy edge on the board...
I have to be honest. I don't typically like the look of punch needle. It always looks messy and kind of weird to me. But this is absolutely beautiful! I am in love with how it turned out! Also, the little phone stand as a glue stand is such a clever idea! You always find ways to make things aesthetically pleasing.
I am having a difficult time locating the threads in some of the colors I would like to work with. For each of the sites I’ve tried, some colors are out of stock. Is there a place that would come closer to having all of them available? I have gone to your Etsy shop, Bee In My Bonnet, but there seems to be the same issues there. I love all the colors!!
There are no shapes used for punch needle...the design is traced on the fabric from a pattern. I show you how in video one in my punch needle series. 😊
I simply end my punch stitch by trimming on the front just like I do when I've finished that color...however because I'm just taking a break and not finished with that color I keep the needle threaded and just continue punching where I left off when I get back to it. Hope this helps:) 😊
You could certainly use it if they are large enough for something else but I don't consider it a waste as that was what was needed to fit in the hoop and keep it tight for punching.
I got so excited to see this. I need something creative to do when watching TV. You NEVER disappoint.

I ❤ it Lori. This is beautiful. It looks much better than the ones I remember from back in the day! Great idea and Great job! Thanks.

I recently bought the punch needle you use and looking forward to starting a small project soon. These tutorials really helped.

The stars are the cutest thing ever! They look like decorated Christmas cookies. ❤
Thank you for sharing little bird. ❤
I like the looks of this.. Thank you for showing us.

I want to do this now.

Beautiful! Thank you so much for the tutorial! I have a punch needle but have yet to use it :( I need to get the hoop... Have a great day!
Thank you this is pretty
Never even knew of this. Interesting
Just love it so trying to find the hoop to order

Lori - Where did you get that kind of clothespins? I remember. years ago, my grandmother turning them into angels with fabric, lace and such.

Yes, there are so many possibilities for sure! 😊

Thanks so much...I think it's a lot of fun and I'm really enjoying it:) 😊
Thanks Lori

Did you try Fat Quarter Shop ? I think they try to keep all of Lori Holt products in stock.
Would you please tell us where you got your hoop stand
Can you use the chalk paint on wooden boxes?
Yes you sure can!
Do you ever trim the tails on the back?
I trim them to about an inch and then make sure they get Mod Lodge on them as well.
😊🪡🧵🤗🤩
So we buy our shapes from some where to use?
There are no shapes used for punch needle...the design is traced on the fabric from a pattern. I show you how in video one in my punch needle series. 😊
🤔 I guess I’m not looking in correct spot. I cannot find the link to the key chain/fob
Oh my goodness I'm so sorry!...thank you for the reminder 😊
I forgot to add it in the description but just put it there now:)
Please, cover what we do if our punching time is interrupted and we have to pause more than a minute or so.
I simply end my punch stitch by trimming on the front just like I do when I've finished that color...however because I'm just taking a break and not finished with that color I keep the needle threaded and just continue punching where I left off when I get back to it. Hope this helps:) 😊
Do you throw out all that fabric that was cut away?? Seems like a waste. 🤷🏻♀️
To me, there is always some waste in crafting and sewing. In this case, you have to have enough fabric to secure in the hoop.
You could certainly use it if they are large enough for something else but I don't consider it a waste as that was what was needed to fit in the hoop and keep it tight for punching.
I think I may have to try this again, because this is so cute🩷
