Great video Tyler last year about this time I was fishing on the bank. I found a huge bed and worked it over with a small senko, I finally got one and took me for a ride, long story short it was probably the biggest bass. I have hooked, got it to the bank, and she spit it out, almost right in my face. Tyler it was at least 8 to 9 pounds. The folks around me said it was the largest bass they have seen in this lake. 60 years of fishing and I lost it,I am sure you know the feeling and the vocabulary used!

I've been getting more reactions from craw/creature baits lately. Are they keyed up nest raiders ( craws/lizards) more so than baitfish right now? Cuz I can't get them to blink at a worm which is normally my go to, but a tube got 5x's the action & it never works normally.
I had to watch this video twice. All I got my first viewing was an image of sleeping with my wife well being punched by a cheeseburger. 😆 Great video as always.
When drop shotting came out I used a heavier weight put it in bed and adjusted my bait at level bass was sitting . If it goes for lead weight I have tube ready to put on bottom. Fish on.
I watched this video last night and tried it today. I punched her in the head and tail for about 15 minutes. I then threw a Ned rig and caught her right away. This was awesome, thanks for the advise, she qualified for Fish Ohio. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
Tyler, when water temps is already 67-72 and largemouth are already in all 3 phases of the spawn, how does a major cold front impact them? This week on Santee Cooper, we have tonight in the mid 30s, tomorrow low 50s (high) and tomorrow night low 30s. Lots of sunshine, but I’m sure we’ll see large drops in water temps. The fish bedding at base of cypress trees, will they leave or pull really tight?
That’s a great question dude. I actually heard John Cox talk about this once. He said that he still sees a lot of bass hold to their beds even when the temps drop, especially if the female has laid the eggs, in which case the male won’t leave them. With that being said, I am sure they will become a little more lethargic on the bed. So it might be a deal where you have to fish as slow as you possibly can. Also if the fish are in all 3 stages, you might be best off targeting the fatter prespawn fish that might be hanging on some of those deeper trees or trees close to a ditch. They might be more willing to bite then the shallow fish that are on beds
I bet you've bed fished b4 though... most people that bed fish just want to learn how to do it. After they become good at it, it becomes boring and non challenging so they stop.
@@Mckillax I have bed fished before , but I haven't for many years , for one thing bedding bass aren't the slam dunk most people think they are , I'd rather target active fish . Personally I don't like the spawn I'd much rather fish when they were in their summer patterns.

I watched this video yesterday and caught two bass using the punch method today. It was two exciting catches!

Great info. Water in high 50’s on my lake and forecast has 3 days in the 80’s. This weekend I’m hoping they start moving in
I fish in mass and ri . Saw a 4 lb bass in 3 ft of water . This upcoming week will def bring them up more .
Today was supposed to be the only day this week I could get the boat out and we had a surprise snow in NH in the middle of the night

Might be a dumb question, but when you’re referring to bed - is that a blue gill bed? I found some recently, just not sure how to fish them.
