To clarify: The weekend of the 4th was a holiday because of the presidential inauguration that was on the 1st. So it was more busy than usual but not because of July 4th ☺️
It was great watching you while I had lunch. Reminded me of how often we used to eat together! Beautiful property and garden tour. I’m so proud of how you’ve made this transition, not sure I’d be as brave. Much love, meg
Everything look so beautiful, peaceful and relaxing. I can't wait to move there. We will be next to the Cerro la silla. And a land my mom heritage from her Mom and grandparents. But for sure i will love to live near town.
@@mariaolson3034 Cerro Silla is beautiful and not far from town at all! You will have more peace there and maybe some nice views depending on where the land is.
The Toucans are amazing and if they are gathering it could mean they're planning a coup. They're behind the popcorn shortage and could have tampered with your mister. ha ha ha! I love your hair too.. it must be cooler in the humidity.
Hello Patty, I been to El Valle and may consider relocating there in the latter part of next year. More videos with housing would be awesome since I know there are no constants. Love your smile ! May GOD continue to bless you.
@@oaoun5836 As I’ve mentioned, housing here in El Valle can be challenging. For renting, I suggest people start at the Valle de Anton Suites while looking for a house rental or to purchase land or a house. The time renting gives you a good idea of whether the town is right for you. Helpful to experience both seasons as they are vastly different.
@@oaoun5836 The reason I say that is due to the fact that you want to be in town, meeting people, asking what is for rent and then taking action the minute you find something you like 😄
You always go with the flow, Patty; a commendable trait - especially in a Latin country 😉; something I find hard to do even here in the Arkansas hinterlands... (I blame my German mother for it, while my Austrian father was quite laid back). Anyway, I realized two years ago, Panama - while alluring in its lushness - was not for me. The more I appreciate your videos living vicariously through you (esp. at my age - I hate to say that since I ain't dead yet). 😜
@@IngeHBorg That German heritage has you systematic! Imagine if you were Swiss, too 😆 Curious, what made you decide Panama wasn’t for you? I’m glad you can live vicariously through my life here - and yes, here you have to go with the flow! Not always an easy adjustment for people.
@@Pattybluehayes When fancy free and footloose (and much younger), I moved from Vienna to London, Paris, Moscow, Chicago, Boston, New Hampshire, San Diego (glorious La Jolla, actually), to - believe it or not - Arkansas, where I wrote and published my "Legends of the Winged Scarab" 5-Novel series; very rewarding. While two years ago (at 80 and stoutly healthy and mentally alert - minus a glass of good wine), I was still gung-ho. Alas, the intricacies of immigrating do outweigh the benefits.

Patty, Another great video! I love Toucans, I've never heard their sounds before. In my garden, I have the huge Panamanian Pheasants, they are quite vocal! Quick question, the store in the video was that Rey or a smaller store?
@@mtngrl5859 it was the Rey in El Valle and the RIBA Smith is in Coronado. I think I know the other bird you’re talking about. Long feather tails, brown in color. Loud!!!
@@Pattybluehayes Yes, those are the birds and they are quite loud! First time I saw them flying & landing on my fruit trees they weighed the branches due to their size. We also have those smaller Parrots they always fly in groups & have lovely chatter. Thanks for letting me know about the stores.
Is fresh food delivery a big thing in Panama? You mentioned the person that comes through your neighborhood with fresh fish. I was watching a PRT live video yesterday. The woman being interviewed lives in Boquete and she and her husband get fresh produce and meat delivered to their house.
@@stevel6420 I noticed in El Valle now there is a ‘meat club’ and they deliver to the house. Some farms may opt to do that - I believe one here delivers goat cheese, eggs and other produce. Typically there’s guys selling fish from coolers on a truck, I’ve seen a bread truck go through the neighborhood and they sell live chickens.
