As I said in the group, your post misrepresented the cost difference quoted to you by one of the agents, and he did not deserve your slander. That is why I removed your post. I treat all agents the same, and have no favourites. I request that you amend this video to remove the screenshot that you took from our group. As you know, it is against group policy to extract anything posted and display it elsewhere.
Your protest and demand, along with your failure to comprehend freedom of speech, prompt my vote that the video remains as published. You've voiced your opposition.
Dear Wade, I still can’t get over your dictatorship style, but anyways. SLANDER is “a false and defamatory oral statement about a person”. Which part of the statement is FALSE? I have Capt Heebie’s correspondence showing quote of $1,415USD. Together with your personal email to me stating: “Capt Heebie (the best agent there)”. Is there something I’m missing? Oh, except you never asked for our side of a story, simply deleted the post and removed me from Red Sea Passage Facebook Group.
There's no way I can know about any of that relationship, but this whole attitude is something that blows my mind away - so aggressive, bullyish and dictatorship like. I can just imagine how intimidating it might feel for people who have no following or support. Just look at his statements and requests. Not even slightest interest in resolving situation, just "Do What I Tell You To Do"
Hi both, great video and thanks for taking us with you on your voyage…👌🏻 I see, that you are now in Greece, Crete, so if you are planning to come to the Dodekanes Islands, especially Kos, I am happy to spend you couple beers 🍻 there. I am located with my boat there, so just drop me a note…
Congratulations, well done! I like your authentic style and fact based videos. Keep it up and always Fair WInds! Best regards from Baden nearby Vienna, Austria.
I have enjoyed each of your videos and found a great review of the year in this one. I wish with all my heart that the year 2023 will be even better for you and enjoy it getting to know new places and having a great adventure and some interesting discovery in the Mediterranean to start with. You are approaching my corner of this planet, it would be nice to be able to greet you in person. Have a very good wind and a better sea
Maybe on the second go around you could sail around the Horn of Africa and compare the routes. Reason to keep sailing, your welcome, and we are waiting.
We did the trip a year ago January but didn’t stop, we found the place to corrupt and also very sketchy, it looks way better now, so you could imagine, still it was great to go up the canal, we then went straight to Cyprus, but it being January gat hit by 70mph winds
Transited the canal and were the first convoy to go through after it re-opened after the last Arab- Israeli war. The canal had been dredged and cleared of block ships. The scars of war were everywhere with hundreds of destroyed military vehicles. Whole ships had been hauled out of the channel and left on the banks. In the convoy with us was the largest ship ever to make the crossing, a British 200000 ton BP tanker. I was on the helm following the directions of our pilot, whose sole advice was “ DOWN THE MIDDLE “ . The huge sand banks on each side of the canal had evolved from both sides trying to obtain the highest tactical ground. And yes, you can see the pyramids as you approach Cairo.
Thank you for Part 2! So many Guard Towers along the Canal!! Ken, I really like your Red keffiyeh - also called the shemagh. As I just learned, the traditional Red Keffiyeh was historically worn by bedouins as it represents the colours of the red Arabian deserts. Good choice! I kept waiting to see you go through locks but I’ve learned that The Suez Canal is lock-free because it connects two waterways with similar water levels.
Sorry to lazy to look up the exact reg, but you are correct. Myself having transited both Panama and Suez many many times now. Contrary to their titles, the pilots do not normally steer the vessel in the Suez Canal. The pilot serves more as a consultant, using his experience and practical knowledge of the canal to give advice, for instance on how to maneuver the vessel or what course to steer. Myself I do not mind letting them helm although I am present at all times on the bridge and give the orders to the helm, to the engines and tugs, taking into account the pilot’s directions, according to international maritime law. The captain has to keep the pilot informed of any problems with the handling of the vessel “so that the pilot might be in a position to give better advice to control the navigation and movement of the vessel,” the law reads. Ultimately, “the responsibility falls completely” on the captain, it adds.“The captain has the sole responsibility for directing the ship,” “The pilots can offer their guidance and opinions, but the captain can choose to refuse it.” What is all to common is the canal authority take advantage of you. Most certainly with small private vessels. We always will hire a trusted Arabic speaker to cut through the nonsence. This many times means a mukafa'a or bachsa to be paid that can if done right, help insure a smooth transit. in reality last time on my private vessel my wife is a tough no nonsence arabic speaker, wins them over with hospitality of her well prepared variety of wonderful Lebanese dishes.
Thank you so much for sharing this fascinating passage and summary of your recent insightful adventures - what acheivements ! Stay well and positive. Hello from London Landlubbers : - ) xx
Thanks for sharing your journey. I have been watching for years and have enjoyed every episode. Where will you finish your circumnavigation and what will be next?
Congratulations, two canals, two oceans. I really thought, there was going to be Locks. Usually, Canals and Locks go hand in hand. Beautiful departure in the morning with that fog, not great for navigation, but great for filming. And, amazing image quality, was this uploaded with your recent install of Starlink and setting boosted up because of that?
Thank you Paul. Very good insights. For was beautiful, especially seeing that sailors statue in fog… as for video quality I already uploaded few hi res 4K videos before, but this one definitely uploaded with Starlink’s help and relieves a lot stress 🤩
Great video love the details and yes 2022 was very interesting! keep them coming Ps. can you share your passage plan for the Med. and when is your plan to cross the Atlantic!? Stay safe

Ahhh Egypt… I’ve heard no good news about that country if you’re a sailor or tourist.
Not welcome… Definitely not as a sailor… 😞
$2 a lt that sounds Like a lot! I just paid $4 a gallon. I would have thought it would be cheaper in Egypt.
In other marina in Egypt we paid around $1.19USD/ ltr

2€ a litre in Greece?
I think your correct..
The bridge is finished actually and was working, but stopped for political and security reasons
