That boss has no sense of self preservation. He goes out of his way to try and blackmail someone sent there by the highest authority in the postal service industry. @@swine13 , in my experience, it's less of an internet thing and more of a being raised by a survivor thing. [CW: child sexual abuse] My mom grew up being sexually abused at a time when the prevailing attitude was to leave families to themselves and not look behind closed doors. So growing up as a kid in the 90s, before we had a home computer or internet, she would tell me stuff like, "Don't get into an elevator alone with a man you don't know, but, if you can't avoid it, position yourself in front of the buttons so you can call for help if you need to." She also used Ted Bundy as a cautionary tale, although I didn't know it at the time. I just remember her telling me a story about a man who pretended his arm was broken so he could ask young women for help, because he knew good people liked to be helpful. But he was only using it as a trick to get them close enough to hurt them. I think you only need to look at the #MeToo movement to see that it might not be people freaking out and thinking there's more sexual abuse than there is, but actually people acknowledging that sexual abuse, of minors and other people groups, is a massive problem and it is SMART to take steps to prevent it.

There's a poster behind the boss I didn't notice until now. It says "Could This Happen to You?", followed by a picture of a mail truck half submerged in water and some tiny writing. @@swine13 , in my experience, it's less of an internet thing and more of a being raised by a survivor thing.
[CW: child sexual abuse] My mom grew up being sexually abused at a time when the prevailing attitude was to leave families to themselves and not look behind closed doors.
So growing up as a kid in the 90s, before we had a home computer or internet, she would tell me stuff like, "Don't get into an elevator alone with a man you don't know, but, if you can't avoid it, position yourself in front of the buttons so you can call for help if you need to."
She also used Ted Bundy as a cautionary tale, although I didn't know it at the time.
