This film is very good. Through Solid rocks, water falls and fine soils accumulates and they know difference between bamboo baskets, clay boiling pots filtering unwanted ones to good ones for them. It means big running cloudy water streams carry many resources and beneficial informations on solid rock foundations.
I've been there twice, twenty years apart. It hasn't changed, unlike the rest of South East Asia. You could go to where I was born in England and film a lot of looney bastards, just as mad as that shaman and the others. You can be just as mad, fringe element, loony in Britain as you can in Laos, it's just more photogenic in Laos.

32:22 Sadly the Hmong market in Luang Prabang is gone, I loved to eat there at the food stalls
Excellent!
Hope the tourism industry won't ruin such a nice place like this. Thanks for the documentary. Greeting from Bandung, Indonesia.
@Jason Bouphasavanh in some places, yes, it happened.
Tourism isn't the biggest problem. The real threat is China's three gorge damn that is now drying this once sustainable river.
Amazing...
Sorry admin: may I know do you have full of this document in Khmer translate ?
beautiful
One striking thing about these villages is that there are no barking dogs!
You just missed the reloading ramps in Don Khon and in Don Det, where the railway used to end up.
im having lifie in laos and cambodia
Great efforts have been put into the making of this documentary, but the ignorance of accompanying background music ruined it.

@28:30, No the monks are not begging.
Jason Bouphasavanh , what they have to pay the head monks. I see where I’m from there’s a monk that drives a Mercedes.
