I left the US in 2009, moved to a small country in Asia, saved a lot more money, and reduced my stress dramatically! Unfortunately many Americans still think they are the "freest/best" country in the world, and everything wrong with their lives is China's fault. Very scary amount of unfounded hatred, based on extreme ignorance...
US Americans say that for cognitive comfort. Most US Americans can't come to terms with the fact that the US is falling. Slowly but surely. So to think that elsewhere is better and for the first time in history, they may actually have to leave the US for a better life, is daunting. It's a survival mechanism. Look at some of the comments on here. People are still saying the US is the best. It's a stale old comment.
Same! 2009 I moved to Asia for 6 years. Back in the US now because job prospects there for foreigners was abysmal. At this point, though, I'm sorry I left. The big problem for Argentina is the path the country is taking, the problem will not be the price of things, but the availability, Argentine capital is leaving the country, thousands of businesses will close and there will be shortages of goods, which which will make them more expensive, in one year your 1300 dollars will not be enough to have a good life in Argentina, you will be able to survive but with only the basics. I am in Russia now, and USD is about 3-4 times more valuable here than in the US. If I could have my American salary here, I would live like a king. Even $31k/year would be high income in Russia and probably in other 50% of the countries.
Sadly 31K isn't even enough to survive in most places of America. That would be considered a starting young adult salary. More and more adult Americans now living with their parents (or parents living with them) to save money when we were used to separate living situations in prior generations. If you aren't living with parents you are living with roommates or a girlfriend or boyfriend on a salary like that, it almost doesn't matter where in the US you live now. You know a country doesn’t care about seniors when their retirement benefits (Social Security) is subject to taxation. Even in retirement you are nothing more than a revenue resource for a profligate government. That’s why more Americans are moving abroad to retire The will live longer and experience less stress. America is indirectly ending life prematurely for its residents
@@leinster22 hopefully people are aware that if you leave in retirement your money is going to be taxed, the government here will not allow you to leave without taking a cut! Yes, it’s going to get a piece of you one way or another because that’s what America does. Of course they’re ending lives sooner here and yes on purpose. See basics of the job system here as it’s set up to end many careers prior to retirement, being let go when you hit a certain age, being forced to leave earlier due to health concerns in Blue Collar jobs and it happens to many! My dad retired early and had to leave the USA due to poor health, he couldn’t physically continue to work and his social security would have put him in the projects or worse. Poverty is not something that seniors should have to contend with as they age here but many do as the cost of living is out to get you now. Few jobs are actually safe from age discrimination in the USA! If you’re older you’d better pick up new skills, start your own side business while still employed or make sure the industry you’re in doesn’t depend on age to get the job done. God forbid you look, sound, or act older as you age that can be an early nail on the coffin in this country and the end of being able to afford to actually live. Also, living here is expensive but existing here not necessarily as long as you’re aware that certain necessities are going to be out of reach. These necessities are basic human rights in many developed countries but apparently not here!
One reason many don't talk about is that the smartest and most skilled from America are leaving because they know where they'll get more value from their money, and as the years go by, the average streets of America will start to look like a dump. The elites are either in the gated communities of America or sipping on an iced drink in some beautiful place abroad

The comparison between homelessness in the US and Dubai is absurd. In the absolute monarchy of the United Arab Emirates, being unemployed gets you expelled. Human rights breaches and exploitation of construction workers are commonplace in Dubai's shadowy underbelly.
@@spike983 Please explain the following: 1. Getting expelled for being unemployed that only applies to foreigners? or to citizens too? 2. In 2023, the profit-sharing bonus for American Airlines flight attendants was 1.1% of their eligible annual pay. Compared to Singapore Airlines, which awarded its employees, including flight attendants, a bonus equivalent to nearly EIGHT months of salary. Is that not an example of corporate greed from American Airlines? American Airlines made a net income in 2023 of $900M... and its workers were given only 1.1% bonus for record corporate profits?
No such thing as corporate greed. They can't force you to work for them. If what you say is true, every AA employee can go work for SA and get that same bonus. AA then goes bankrupt. So much for the "greed".
@@phirephate Ok. How about the companies here are way more greedy than a lot of overseas companies? Greed is still greed whether or not the workers have the balls to go elsewhere.

It’s not about bankrupting companies, but about fair profit-sharing. Employees should be rewarded more fairly when companies do well... Also, ironically, AA is feeding the unions ammunition by doing this so its not even smart from a business strategy point of view.

I want out. Not because of the higher prices, which are a big problem for sure. I want out because of the insanity that is going on in this country. It is unfixable. Half the country want to have an Authoritarian rule from an insane douche bag, and the other half are complacent in accepting that lobbyists, corporations, and politicians of all parties are just what we have to accept. Costs are up because corporate shareholders want maximum profits. They get maximum profits by increasing profits and reducing expenses. Expenses are employees, their benefit & quality of product/service. They maximize profits by eliminating jobs, cutting corners, and raising prices without justification. The problem is that going to another country is not easy due to residency qualifications etc. If you are not rich or young, they don't want you, even if you are of working age. I am hoping to leave when I retire in 10 years but in the interim, it is almost impossible to find a place to go to. It's a huge risk to sell everything and move in hopes that I can sustain myself until I can collect unemployment and use my 401k without double taxation.

I'm doing a paralegal course right now. I feel like the only jobs that don't pay grocery store wages in law are at the government, as far as paralegalism is concerned. Small firms: senior paralegal (think 15yrs experience prolly), $25 an hr. Benefits provided: healthcare. Not even PTO. Level 3 paralegal with the government 75-100k/yr. Baby attorneys start at 50k at some places, too. Speaking of government employee wages in my state: where I live, I am part of a martial arts dojo. I pay a fair $150 a month to train with various black belts, it's one fee for as many classes you can/ want to attend and you can go shooting all their guns with certified trainer and free ammo. Who mostly goes to this dojo? Government employees. Because people who work in private sector get paid so low, they can't afford an extra of $150. For me it's a struggle to afford it and I keep on to learn what I can from the masters and with the training partners I can train with - before I will eventually move. HA!

As we may hear, you may make a lot but no get rich. Habits away from consumption beyond means mist be strict and indefinite. But inflation, usury, taxes, and contracts tied to these are too insidious, arbitrary and capricious. Insurance can suddenly leap or leave you behind too. Penalties amd control frauds strike out. Good people leaves unpleasant work situations in all the above. Many walking archives and decades of talent sidelined or in line at store or passing by during a walk and NO ieas who they are. My son and fiancé are in Colombia and I just moved in with them. Have a 3 bedroom 2 bathroom in a nice high rise apartment complex of middle class Colombians that’s under $400 a month! Everything is a 1/4 of what it costs in the US! Gas is more but I prefer to pay for ride share rather than drive as traffic is crazy in Cartagena. Once you get used to the humidity life is much better than the hustle and bustle of the US in a rat race to nowhere. I have no intentions of moving back full time to the US. I fly back once a month to work for a couple of weeks and fly back and am trying to get work online so I don’t have to go to the US to work at all. It took me so long to make $100K and with the cost of living and inflation that is hardly even a middle class salary anymore. The US system needs a complete tear down and rebuild to ever recover. It’s a downward spiral. If you can get out I suggest getting out. US is trending downward. Very downward!!

One thing CEO pay is not cash. Neither are these type of persons humane, and 10 million to not much really barely middleclass, to give takes a heart which if you have one getting hired is not likely.

Hi Andrew. Been following your channel for forever. It has been largely your program and advice that I took on myself to 'go where I am treated best', which for me turns out to be Brazil. At this moment I sit in a brand new (actually not even totally finished yet) apartment in an upscale suburb of Rio de Janeiro. I am no flight attendant, I am a (recently) retired software engineer. I might be interested in something like your job offer. I think Brazil should be on more people's radar as one of their options for going to where they are treated best, at least treated a whole lot better. COL, climate, culture, financial infrastructure stability, security, all these aspects of day-to-day life, in most of Brazil, are far superior to those same things in the USA/Canada. Brazil stands alone as the only BRICS country that is a viable option for moving to get treated better than the USA/Canada does: Who would consider moving to Russia, or India, or China, or South Africa? I could be a point person for people considering Brazil as one of their options, simple as that. Thanks for all your input and guidance in getting me to where I am right now!

They’re telling the IT people to take the trades route, they need to fill the positions the baby boomers are vacating. The wages in the trades are great now but once they get an oversupply of labor the wages will begin to fall. I think this is what’s causing a lot of the chaos with the younger generations complaining about work. Why spend all that money on a college education or trades school if the jobs aren’t going to be there or not pay well enough to live. There are no guarantees in life but this is starting to get out of control, here in the US and also the rest of the world.
The conversation surrounding inflation and the American dream now being an illusion is not a binary one that can be reduced either to corporate greed or government malfeasance. It is an incestuous relationship of both corporate and government malfeasance and the antagonistic relationship between labor and ownership.
I need $100,000 right now in order to live comfortably in the state I reside in. I’m in the USA. I need 1/2 of that or less if I moved back to my native country! I’m employed and haven’t been able to afford healthcare nor dental in over 8 years. I lost my job last year the company I was with went out of business after 3 years. This cast me into immediate poverty and I could no longer afford to insure my car nor maintain it. The only reason I’m not “living” in my car is thankfully I don’t live alone. The current America is the new Titanic and get out while you can!
Most people like you who complain are just lazy...don't make enough money? Then learn new skills, network with new people and look for a new job or career.
@1:16 They must be only working part-time or some such thing as this, and many other data with similar numbers came up in a 5 second search. "Flight Attendants made a median salary of $63,760 in 2022. The best-paid 25% made $82,410 that year, while the lowest-paid 25% made $47,760." "The estimated total pay for a Flight Attendant is $118,506 per year in the United States area, with an average salary of $106,528 per year. T" (of course that includes the total benefit package) "average Flight Attendant salary in the United States is $86,370 as of June 27, 2024, but the range typically falls between $73,474 and $102,652." Where did those numbers come from that are in yoru video? The lowest base pay, part-time without any bumps? Oh, wait I know why that you have such a low number, "....their union said" The union was cherry picking data and almost certainly using part-timer pay, or lowest entry level base without any bumps, or some other such BS. You @8:50 stated that you don't take the propaganda yet you (or your staff) had you parroting union propaganda.
Already out - been gone 15 years, 28 countries stamped - never coming back to the States not even as a tourist. As a military vet & linguist ... I have trained and helped place 13 flight attendants. Fly Dubai, Emarites Airways, Dubai Air, Turkish Airlines, Malaysia Air and Singapore Airlines - all my students are having grand times of their life and living their dream - a couple have already bought condos locally for when the 'age out' usually 30.
Homelessness is growing partly due to the unaffordable cost of living. Some people have become desperate and are giving up. Working hard is no longer a guarantee of success or prosperity. People are losing their motivation to work hard. That is very sad.
There are unequivocal downsides of living the US but it is not crumbling apart like Andrew disparaged. I live in Fort Worth Texas and still make a sumptuous living regardless of lingering inflation. The notion that the US isn't hiring anymore is egregious at least in my city.
I have watched foreign news for a few years. My physical body is in the US, and my soul is elsewhere. I don't celebrate American holidays, etc. All you shared on homelessness, the cost of living, and the lack of white-collar jobs is accurate. I have looked into the $2350 citizenship renouncement for a few years. There is nothing that I like here in the US that makes me feel at home. My family loves the US, and I no longer share why I think like I do. I am leaving my career of twelve years by November, my daughter is moving away with her fiancé to Massachusetts, and I am selling my home for $650,000. In short, I will break all my ties here by December 2024. My former employer discharged me under contract; the arbitration date has just passed, and the company lost. They owe me $300,000 in lost wages for two years, and I no longer have that issue to settle. My current residence is in Las Vegas. 🦅👍🏻
Keep your home base, of Las Vegas. This is for no state taxes. Get a private mailbox, for mail delivery. Keep a residential address for USA banking and the Nevada drivers license. Don’t advise any government agencies or financial institutions of your moving. Some don’t care. But many will close your accounts. For Social Security deposits go to your USA banks. If not you must file an annual report to the SSA. (proof of living) Don’t go with regular Medicare at age 65. Pay for a supplement, starting at $165.00 per month. I like Humana, as they pay for emergency care abroad. They do not require your presence in the USA, for example, 6 months in a calendar year. Some will not give international coverage, if your gone for certain lengths of time. Good Luck, and congratulations!
I’m with you! Physical here and currently stuck as wages too low to get me out. I do have a plan but absolutely no help to get there, so it’s going to take time. I will need to leave the US before retiring because I will never be able to stop working here at this rate. Part of the issue is many Americans are too poor to leave anywhere these days. I’m with someone that will leave the country and leave me behind to fend for myself, yet refuses to help me so that I’m able to help myself! Life here is is gutturally sad. I currently also have obligations that won’t allow me to leave yet but I HAVE TO GET OUT!
How about you make a video for "normal" people who don't have wealth and don't own businesses? As someone in that position, I find living in States better than in my own country in Europe and where I also have an abusive family which is whyI am not returning and avoid even visiting. If you have no considerable family ties anywhere and you are by yourself in one way or other, I can't see a point of being by myself in Mexico or Malaysia, or Dubai. In those places, on top of a completely new country, it's also a completely different culture. If I don't have family ties, the next best thing for feeling somewhere at home is to have cultural/ heritage roots somewhere. Nobody talks about it. I've been to 50+ countries and also the ones you mention but that last thing I can envision is to compete with natives for jobs in those countries. It's not like I can start a big business producing thousands a month from zero/ survival state.
Amazing video. I'm thinking of moving out of the United States. But first I was considering securing a remote job with a foreign employer. Does anyone know in which foreign country (either in Europe, Asia, the Caribbean) an American can find good work, and where their dollar goes further?
Flight attendants in Australia for Qantas are treated similar to American Airlines. A lot of them have second jobs and/or still live with their parents because the salary is so low. New hires no longer get meal allowances when doing overnights. Qantas is a sweat shop - huge turnover of staff which was once unheard of.
As you illustrated in the example flight attendants, cabin crews who work for airlines are having to sleep in their cars and go on food stamps because their job of working for airlines forces them to live in high cost of living areas where rents are high and everything else is high and the salary they get is not enough to cover those high costs.
Here is the USA a lot of families would feel happy to see their family member living out of their cars. Especially if they lean conservative or dont like wearing masks.
So much of inflation is housing costs because we don’t build enough homes. We don’t build enough homes because current home owners block construction through strict discretionary zoning because they say they don’t want more traffic. Limiting supply raises their home equity. We need to permit and encourage home construction in urban live work villages by every transit station to supply homes pushing prices down and keeping traffic down by reducing the need to drive.
A few months ago, I was on vacation in Malaysia and met some American expats who weren’t of Asian descent. Even they said they don't want to return to the U.S.
You cant expect people to have strong family ties when both parents are working 40+ hours a week and the kid is in school from sun up to down, no time to bond

Are your retirement contributions tax deductible? If yes, you will be required to pay tax on receiving the benefits.
So, the crisis is a real issue here but It don’t know what the answer is.
@@acamiln8354 I’m not sure what you’re trying to say here but of course money can go further in any lower cost of living country. I’ve watched some different travel videos that are pretty interesting and help show you about this kind of thing.
Non-traveling healthcare workers are living in their cars in the United States. Housing is outrageous!!!
There is a traveling nurse living in her van in front of my cottage in Seattle.
We share the kitchen/bathroom, she chips in for utilities. She’s trying to pay off her degree then she will look at where to go- maybe another country.
The cheapest place to stay around here is $1000 plus utilities- in a bad area.
I know ICU RNs back in Bay Area California that lived in their car for years.
Andrew, your 'out of the box' thinking is on full display! This is a very creative idea, and I'm certain you will change some lives for the better. If I were a flight attendant I would take you up on this offer in a heartbeat! Bravo!

To be fair, Dubai is pretty awful when it comes to slavery and the living conditions of those poor people.
Exactly, I was a bit surprised by that example

Not the place to be if you are poor but still better than what they're getting in their home countries. That's why they are there.
not dubai fault. they chose to be there. and the living condition and salary are a lot better in dubai than their own country, thats why they dont complain. but really, the condition of the lower tier workers there are a lot better than usa. theres even luxury free food in dubai for the unemploy/poor

The entire world is I. Trouble if you follow biblical teachings. You can’t run from insanity.

HA!

Hi Andrew! I just recently relocated to Colombia in part because of this channel. I am not a flight attendant but I am a teacher looking to make a career change. I just sent my CV to hr. I hope to hear from your company!
Thank you; good luck Mariah!
The fact thay the top country in the world has to choose between an amnesiac grandpa and a shouty mad grandpa is a really bad look for the USA.
Only Americans believe they're "the top country in the world".
Why can’t the airline CEO use his $10 million to give out bonuses to the flight attendants? He would still be a multimillionaire if he did that.
Because they don't care about "the company" any more than the other employees do.
No, he wouldn't. AA has 130k employees, so if he worked pro bono and gave away his entire salary, it'd equate to a whopping $77 per employee per year.
I know math is hard for you anti-capitalist folks, but do try a bit harder.
One thing CEO pay is not cash. Neither are these type of persons humane, and 10 million to not much really barely middleclass, to give takes a heart which if you have one getting hired is not likely.
According to American Airlines demographics in 2020 there were 27,589 flight attendants. If you wanted to give each one even a 5K annual bonus that would be nearly 138 million dollars.

Can’t really blame capitalism when what we have is not capitalism.
We have socialism for the rich. If they fail poorer Americans bail them out with government assistance. Biden says we have democracy, it is true we definitely do not have a democracy.
It’s the end result of capitalism.
Please explain how we do not live in a capitalist society.
Here is how I understand it: In a capitalist system you have markets that have prices reacting to supply and demand. These days, we do not have truly open markets because there is collusion on a grand scale aided by technology. It may not be legal to insider trade and price fix, but what if all the computers just happen to make the same decisions? See where this can go?
@@salsa564 Capitalist society is industrial UK (1800s). Read 'Capital Volume I' by Karl Marx. That is the best explanation of Capitalism you will ever find. It includes case examples of what real capitalism looks like.
What we have today is more regulated/humane versions of capitalism.

Thank you for the comment! Glad to hear you are enjoying Brazil!
Careful. I was recently in Brazil for three weeks. On the third week, I had to evacuate after someone kicked in my home door and attacked me. Fortunately, I was armed at the time, but found I was in extreme danger so left that same night. I found Presidente Prudente very accommodating and mostly safe, but Pelotas very very dangerous. I think they were after my IT Equipment, which might have been reported by my house cleaner to the folks trying to break in.

Manufacturing companies, fast food chains, - never dealt with railways or airline companies personally, but to my understanding, they were doing the same thing for their employees.

Get Out! Vacation to start if you’re not experienced, as a traveler. To start, try Phuket Thailand or Malacca Malaysia. I stay in The Philippines much of the year. There is no visa for most people to visit. You get a 30 day stamp on arrival. You can extend, with the visa waiver program, for three years. Before the 3 year time period ends, you exit the country for a day. Upon your return, you reset for another 3 years. There are other visa options, like a retirement visa.

malaysia or malay peninsular always been prosperous before the colonial period, malacca was the central of trading point of Asia. chinese, arab, indian, benggali and others always came to our land to do trading and transit. malay language was the lingua franca during those period. during colonial period british stole most of our resources to enrich their queen, now the colonial practice gone except for some countries, we can enjoy back our own resources and develop our land, the prosperous era started back in 1980 in malaysia
the colonial period its not a prosperous period for malay peninsular. its a prosperous period for european countries back in europe.

Your take on it has some merit, but the rampant greed by the management/ceo class and huge increases in their money vs the average workers is a very large component shoudn't be unacknowleged.
I remember as a child when the steel mills left the country for Japan. I remember hearing my father say “ how can you compete against countries that pay their population a fraction of our wages and can sell their products back to us for less the price we could make it for…”.
It finally has caught up to us and now the rest of the world has moved ahead. All they had to do was educate their workforce which means they would inevitably innovate for themselves at some point. The American people knew how this would turn out long ago but the globalists must have never seen it coming or did they and just didn’t care.
can you name an American steel company that closed a factory and built one in Japan? I can save you some time - there isn't one. what happened is American steel workers kept brow beating their employers for "more money more money more money!!!" when they didn't get it, they went on strike. when they went on strike, companies that bought their steel immediately looked for other sources of steel so their production wasn't stopped. this permanently crippled the steel industry in the USA and it never recovered.
@@connor_flanigan I’m certainly not a fan of the unions. My father was in management at the steel mill he worked at. The mills in Pennsylvania are pretty much gone now and the state has transformed itself into more of an IT hub.
Now we’re hearing that AI is going to start replacing IT jobs over time.
Hands down endless wars are the reason for this breakdown of the west.
there are like 5 or 6 big reasons, that's only one
i left the USA in 1988. And enjoy life feeling sorry for many good people i met there who struggle to stay afloat.
Flight attendants are treated like crap in the industry. Even the baggage handlers can earn twice as much with less hours worked.
You cannot find a house in the US as in Europe. Low house quality in the US, low food quality....
@1:16
They must be only working part-time or some such thing as this, and many other data with similar numbers came up in a 5 second search.
"Flight Attendants made a median salary of $63,760 in 2022. The best-paid 25% made $82,410 that year, while the lowest-paid 25% made $47,760."
"The estimated total pay for a Flight Attendant is $118,506 per year in the United States area, with an average salary of $106,528 per year. T" (of course that includes the total benefit package)
"average Flight Attendant salary in the United States is $86,370 as of June 27, 2024, but the range typically falls between $73,474 and $102,652."
Where did those numbers come from that are in yoru video? The lowest base pay, part-time without any bumps?
Oh, wait I know why that you have such a low number, "....their union said" The union was cherry picking data and almost certainly using part-timer pay, or lowest entry level base without any bumps, or some other such BS.

Very generous offer.
Yea but you can’t live in DFW w/ $31k either

I am surely not a flight attendant but it is a good job for sure.
As you illustrated in the example flight attendants, cabin crews who work for airlines are having to sleep in their cars and go on food stamps because their job of working for airlines forces them to live in high cost of living areas where rents are high and everything else is high and the salary they get is not enough to cover those high costs.
