Hey Coach, love the video and I have this year installed this motion action and it shows promise, I have always ran a motion or more of a read and react, my kids are not use to doing banana cuts to hit the flare but understand the spacing and wheel action.

How would you keep the continuity if a player either back cuts or tight curls the down screen? If the flair is hit then I guess the player can stay in the weakside short corner waiting to use the down screen.

Hey Coach do you have breakdown drills that you use

Yeah we really like doing breakdowns for this offense. I break down each part of the wheel action. Work on the low pindown action reads: when to curl, when to pop corner, when to go to the wing. Do it without defense then add decision making. Then add the flare screen part and focus on that. Work on making that flare pass -- and work on when to curl the flare if they chase over the top. There's a lot of good videos on this from championship productions. The Kuhn and Jicca vids are great. But you can get creative and do a lot of great 3x3 drills for this. If you have bigs that you don't want handling the ball a lot -- it's a very good offense.

Thanks for sharing coach, this is a fantastic breakdown. How did you run your transition to get into this?

Hi Ron. It's pretty simple with a traditional numbered break with wings running to the corners with a rim runner. As the guard kicks it ahead to the right wing the other players are pretty much in Blocker spots if we don't get a shot off transition. The rim runner is low and the trailing post is high ready to set the flare for the PG. Hope that makes sense...would be easier with a fast draw diagram.

Could 8th graders run this offense? I really like the action. Where could a person get their hands on information about this offense? -Thank you

Hi Heath. It depends on the 8th graders. The "pattern" is easy to learn but the reads inside them take time. And not every 8th grader can make a good flare/skip pass. But yes, I do think 8th graders can run this. I'd just keep it simple. As far as resources there's plenty for free on Ytube but if you want more breakdown drills and wrinkles anything from Joe Kuhn and Tom Jicca and of course Dick Bennett. Championship Productions sells a lot of their stuff.

I agree on the kids making reads, my 8th graders are picking it up I've had them since the 5th grade running read and react so there pretty savy, I find running the pairs concept that all my grade level players have an easier time understanding it
