I run euro ball screen motion. I’ve run your pistol offense plus I’ve run spread by Brad Underwood just like you. Which one of these offense do you like best ? I’ve never ran circle but have ran a lot of five out.
Chad I think everything you do has to be personnel based. I love all of those offenses. But I have teams that can’t run euro. Or pistol. But are good at spread and circle. I love blocker mover if I have the right personnel. I think pistol is extremely tough to guard if you have 4 guards who can all play and a post that can move. But pistol takes time. I’ve had coaches contact me, saying that pistol “doesn’t work”. well like anything you have to drill it like crazy so that the players can make the appropriate reads and not play sideline to sideline. Spread I think generates great shots but you need to be able to make reads and add counters. So which one is “best” is a tough question.
Hey Coach thanks for the detailed video. I run this and have done so with 5th-7th graders (Boys). It is a good alternative offense and one I like to open the game and later on. At the youth level it is so tough to stop and creates many options. Most young AAU travel teams never see this offense and don't run complicated stuff. Love the video. Thanks! I notice some teams just sit the weak side defender in the lane to clog up. How do you counter this? Also it seems the more patient you are with it and swing the ball side to side, the more effective the action. Ever run any quick hitters out of this?
If the weakside low man is taking away the high low make them pay. Have the middle backdoor guard screen that player in on reversal and you likely will have an open 3 or a post up with that guard. We run a lot of entries that flow into this, absolutely. And yes -- flipping the floor is vital. That first screen rarely works unless it's a bad team.
Depends on my team. With a mobile post and 4 good guards I like pistol. If I want to bang the high low or I have a guard that can post up I like Euro. I do run both though.

Have you ever ran the two sided break and flowed into pistol or euro?
@@chadspencer9302 yeah the 2 sided break is perfect for pistol. With euro it takes some tweaking.
